Season 3, Episode 10 - Forever in a Day
Original Air Date: October 8, 1999

As SG-1 attempts a rescue of captured Abydonians, Daniel sees his long-lost wife Sha're watching the activity from a nearby tent. He follows her inside, where Sha're, who is actually the Goa'uld Amonet, takes Daniel in the grip of a Goa'uld ribbon device. Teal'c enters the tent with his staff weapon as Daniel falls unconscious.

wasnt christopher judge and michael shanks brilliant in this episode they acted out the tension towards each other brilliantly and i imagine it cant be easy when youre really good freinds off set to bring all that tension and hate on screen.they truly are some of todays greatest actors. biggrin.gif

I agree, they are really great actors. And also did you see the battle sequence at te start...AMAZING. Prbeley the most Jaffa I've seen on screen at once.

Ya, this episode was great. I liked the big Jaffa battle in the beginning. What I would like to know is how many of the Jaffa's weapons and armors were taken home by the SGC. If they did loot all the bodies, they would have tons of weapons and armor for infiltration and battle later on.

I loved the earnest and raw emotions between Daniel and Teal'c. This show has such great acting and great stories. I felt so bad for Daniel losing Sha're once and for all.

Yeah, this was a great episode, full of human emotions and what was also really cool was all the times Daniel kept seeing the spirit of his wife and interacting with her through dreams and also when he was wide awake. That the makers of Stargate SG-1 are adding in the spiritual side of life/death adds so much more to the show. The writers are really excellent. This depth and breadth of this show reminds me SO MUCH of Star Trek: The Next Generation. Their writers covered all this great stuff and did it so well. Having such great characters (like TNG) is alive and well in Stargate, and of course Stargate has great actors and actresses. It's such a great show!!!! biggrin.gif

I kinda have to go against everyone else in this thread. I didn't really like this episode all that much. I think that Sha're's death should have been a bit more dramatic. I think if O'neill died Daniel would have been 10x's more upset. I mean comon, she's the reason Daniel Jackson is there. He gave up Earth to stay on Abidos with her, you would think that his whole world would have been crushed. I've seen him get more emotional in other episodes.

I think I also would have rather that Daniel killed her to save SG1. Maybe in a scene where she fights her simbiote enough to tell Daniel to kill her so that she doesn't kill his friends or something along those lines...

They needed to get rid of her somehow. How else could they bring Osiris into the picture and not have him feel guilty?

Now that really WOULD have tugged at the old heart strings wouldnt it?

I also agree that Daniel would have been 10 x more upset if Jack died. But on the whole it was a great episode and I enjoyed it. I didnt really buy the "search for the Harsisis" child as a valid excuse for Daniel to want to stay with the team.

I think that by this time, he felt such a member of the team and was so drawn into the adventure, that he really didnt NEED an excuse to stay on.

I know it then arcs into later episodes, but I still dont think it was the real reason he stayed on.

I also like the big Jaffa battle at the start, i thought this was a very sad episode, with Daniel finally realizing that Sha're is finally dead,Did anyone noticed they had SGC soldiers on the Sand Junes at Sha're funeral?

I liked the ep, but i don't really get it. Does DJ get all that memory stuff between Share dying and dying again at the end from the hand device? Or does he 'go back' and relive it. So Confused.... huh.gif

I think that the whole episode was kind of a dream...Share's message to him. I don't think he ever left that scene the whole episode.

I agree. I understand why they called it "Forever in a Day"; that must have been the longest 30 seconds in history.

Yes, she was communicating to him through the hand device while Amonet was killing him. I think it was her way of saying goodbye as well as letting him know he has to find the Harsesis etc..

i think the spisode was alright as it really got me at the end where she tells him that she loved him then died, daniel then tells her he loves her- heartbreaker.

is it just me or does daniel need a good break in the love department i mean he needs a good solid non snake ridden girlfriend im available if needed just gives us a call!

Not to change the topic or anything...but how many "girlfriends" has Daniel had? I've missed quite a few episodes so could someone fill me in, and please don't make this the new topic.

It would seem to me that all of SG1 has had really crappy luck in love. They could all use a little happiness.
