Season 3, Episode 11 - Past and Present
Original Air Date: October 15, 1999

SG-1 travels to a planet whose inhabitants seem to be suffering from mass retrograde amnesia. They have no memory of their lives before the unknown event they call the "Vorlix", and report that their elders and children are missing. The planet faces complete devastation unless the people's memories can be restored.

i didnt like this episode it was weak never will be one of my faves i think its right at the bottom of the list along with that light episode.

She looks pretty harmless leave her alone!!!

I thought this episode had a weak ending. It just didn't make much sense to give the evil lady amnesia again cuz her dark side will eventually show its face again as it did twice before. I didn't get their reasoning that it was safe to send her back to that planet. Daniel can be such a sucker!

yeah i didnt get the ending but i found quite a few bits of the episode confusing and complicated mind u i only have a little mind and that woman was evil i swear to god she is evil.

this episode was weird, i found it boring.

I thought that the younger destroyer of worlds was kinda hot.

i liked the episode since it was pretty well done, but strangely, i didn't like how they brought Linea back. It just seemed like they brought her back so that they wouldn't have to leave that storyline open. I really wanted them to leave it alone and be left wondering.

i agree at times the episode could be boring but i generally liked it- what a shaame that another of daniel romantic interests was a flush down the toilet case- dont worry baby i'll confort you!

ok which writer was reading psychology text books since she was younger and forgot the things that made her destroyer of worlds she aint power hungry and dangerous that sounds like the old argument that if hitler was a succesful painter in his youth ww2 woulda never happened bit otoh i did like this episode guess now i gotta search kazaa for it so i can rewatch it and comment further

Another thing i would be interested to know if daniel liked ao much that he kissed kiera- i mean he liked her personality, why did he not try again after she went back to not knowing who she was after all he evan said in the episode that she was a different person.

yes my plan has worked- right as many replays and get away from being a civilian- i would like to thank my mum and dad for getting randy and conceiveing me etc etc.

That behavior is discouraged, I suggest you watch out and don't do that. Just like the real airforce you can be demoted at anytime.

Probably because he couldn't handle the knowledge all that well himself. Or, he did not want to have a relationship built around the fact that he had to keep a secret of that size. She is brilliant enough to figure out very quickly that he is keeping a secret. She figured it out the first time, after all, including what the secret was. That would sour a relationship very fast.

dear ladyluna first of all may i point out the smilie faces- to shoe i was being humorous-well trying and if we had sound iyou would of heard me reciting what i posted in a evil accent- as a j.o.k.e! i believe i posted fulsome answers (what that just me or does that sound wierd) anyway and back to the most important thing the episode! agree that knowing who she actually was would ruin all feelings, she may be able to forget what she has done but we cannot

yeah, but a question how well would you think you would take it if you did'nt know who you were then started to remember absolutly atrocious things that you had done to fellow people? i think you can really understand why she wanted to off her self at the end- her new good contiousness was remembering he old and trying to fight it, but how do you make yourself understand in a situation like that?


another thing. is there any chance ahe could remenber again after all scientists will be scientists and curiosity killed the cat or so to speak?

I don't know. She needed access to the high tech at the SGC to crack the problem the first time. Whether she can do it again with the tech that the other planet is unlikely, but possible, I guess.
