Season 3, Episode 16 - Urgo
Original Air Date: January 28, 2000

SG-1 steps through the Stargate on their way to a paradise planet and end up back at the SGC. Adding to their confusion is Hammond's assertion that the team was gone for fifteen hours. An analysis of the MALP data reveals a brief initial image of an alien lab just before the paradise view.

I got a kick when Urgo tried to change his appearance and morphed into his son, laugh.gif . Can anyone tell me when did Peter DeLuise get involved in this great show?

THis episode was so funny. It couldn't be more fitting that Dom DeLouise made the all hungry and starved for desserts. That was hysterical. Another GREAT episode! Stargate surprises me on a regular basis by having episdoes that vary so greatly and cover the whole range of possibilities. I don't think there's any other TV show out there right now that can do that.

This was one of the first episodes I ever saw (I never started from the beginning) and I hated it then, it was annoying and Urgo the most frustrating and grinding personality. I watched it a year or two later and laughed my head off, I guess SG1 humour took a bit of time to get accustomed to.

And Jack was thinking of girls in tight little bikinis and Urgo told Sam that. The look she had on her face was classic.

I wonder why he doesn't take on another appearance. Looking the same as the guy he now resides in must be unsettling.

You are not alone, I find that bit funny as well.

Urgo is one of my favourite episodes, and I love Dom Deluise as an actor, he's just so funny.

I don't know why, but for some reason I never liked this episode...not saying I hated it or anything...but Urgo was just a bit...well maybe more than a bit... over the top for me...I tried, honestly.

Really.

Seriously.

Then the fact that of course his creator looks exactly like him. Saw that coming amile away...I had this urge to yell at the tv.."yes, kill him and put him out of MY misery." It was as if a voice in my head that no one could see was influencing me...biggrin.gif

Don't have anything against Dom, mind you....smile.gif

I love this episod ! It is so funny ! The actor who plays urgo (the father of Mr deluise) is wonderful ! All the characters are all funny, when they are in the mess eating alot of desserts, when they "sang", and durring the episod.

I hope they don't end up on the weight control program from all those desserts! laugh.gif

I have heard of the concept of a sentient machine, I don't think I've come across a sentient program before. Interesting idea.

I don't know which I feel the most sorry for: Urgo being stuck with his maker or his maker being stuck with him! dry.gif

I had never thought of that before, but that would be a hard choice to decide who you felt sorry for most.

Urgo is stuck with a miserable guy who doesn't want to have any fun. mad.gif
Togar is stuck with this sentient program who can't take anything serious, and never shuts up. wacko.gif

What the heck, they deserve each other. laugh.gif

Didn't anyone find that Urgo behaved (and even looked) a lot like Harlin the robot? The only difference in my mind is the fact that I think that Harlin was cool and Urgo was a pain in the butt. Harlin, at least, had a few funny phrases that he used.

Overall though, I thought that this episode was pretty good, even though it could of used a few more visual effects.

There are a couple from this season that I particularly enjoy, Urgo was one of them. Dom DeLuise has been on the comedy scene for years and was excellent in the part.
A classic SG-1 Ep!

I found Urgo irritating, but I loved the reactions of the rest of SGC had to the team talking to their 'invisible friend'. Even after they believed that he was 'there', their expresstions were priceless! laugh.gif w00t.gif w00t.gif laugh.gif

Before I saw the episode, I thought that Urgo was about Harlin. Not sure why though. Loved the episode. Thought it was hilarious.
