It was quite a moving episode, but it all just happened too easily and quickly, you just new it wasn't real.

But, yeah, as for Nem himself, who knows if he'll be back. If his mate was sent/went to Earth to rid the place of Goa'uld they must have some powers/technology.

His abode there seemed quite techie, and the mind machine.... Ancient? Furling? Ahhh, we'll go crazy over those two races, won't we - ha ha haaa...

Seems odd though that someone such as Nem's mate would be sent to help. I mean, there's been no mention of aliens in early history, was there? Only the Goa'uld impersonating people, but at the time noone knew there were aliens. Wonder how this chick wandered around Babylon.

hmm, they never did say that his mate was same species as him.. maybe she was a human? or maybe since they said she retreated to the water at night that she was able to walk around looking human and then change her apperance during the day to be more "human like".

overall, this was one of my favourite episodes, not just because you see daniel in a wet tshirt for the first time wink.gif but because i'm really into the whole babylonian times as well. most of the reason i am so into stargate sg-1 is because of the culture issue, although now its more into aliens and other technologies, which thus only make it more interesting smile.gif

ok, i'm ending my rant on why i'm suck a big geek tongue.gif

I must admit that although my knowledge of ancient Earth cultures is pitiful, I do enjoy that part of Stargate. Maybe this couldn't have been written in, but I would have liked to see some "flashbacks" or something of Ancient Babylon, woulda been cool.

Linz has a good point, why do we assume Nem's mate was the same race? Even in 6x18 Forsaken (minor spoiler) we see the captain and his wife being different races.

But if she was human would she have been in a position to fight the Goa'uld? True she was murdered, but she must have thought she had a chance in the first place.

Possibly. Although could she have been Goa'uld herself, or Tok'ra (despite his despise of Teal'c etc - that could have come about AFTER the fact)???

I'm thinking this is one story that will never be told, unfortunately. Ahhh there really IS enough story lines here for 20 seasons isn't there?? Ha ha haaa....

Well maybe she did (succeed on her mission and commit suicide). Just because Danny remembers some written text on what might have happened doesn't make it true.

To summarise: Nem's mate was neither the same race as him, nor human, nor Goa'uld - so what does that leave us with? It must have been someone with enough perceived power to at least take on the Goa'uld. Furling? tongue.gif

That only goes to show that golf clubs should be considered a weapon. (that is what he smashed the car with right?)
