Technology aside, I think this was one of the better written and carried out episodes ever. I know we all think of Oma Desala as Buddhist in nature, but does anyone else think that the Nox really are more Buddhist in outlook?

I wonder how many of them there are? The Nox race I mean. And what do they do? And better yet, why were that family on the ground in the forest? Perhaps a family camping, but it was said that the old guy was one of the oldest and wisest, and presumerably a leader, so why was here roughing it I wonder?? (Man, more questions than a newbie here)

If you remember the episode the old man said that they learned from their natural surrounds. It's almost like this was a lifestyle that particular family unit had chosen. So possibly many family units lived on the surface, while some lived in the city. I guess it just would depend on whether you were a Nox greenie or a Nox techie. wink.gif

well some nox might like to live in the forest away from technology and where its more free and others want to live in the city where there is more protection and easier ways to find answers out.?

I do too wish that, they would do more on the Nox. They are just as masteryous as the Furlings, sounds qute and fuzzy to me, what ever the fuzz might be!!!! ph34r.gif That little Nox kid likes Jack. But sometimes the young don't always lesson. whistling.gif Enough of this falldaraw. I like the Nox rolleyes.gif

I thought the same as you ussshorty (about the greenies and the techs) but if this is the case I wonder why then Lya is always the one to come? Surely there'd be someone better suited to liase with the galaxy??

I think that they're doing it for the sake of seeing someone you know - you know, that continuity thing?

Either that or perhaps there are only a few dozen Nox left and she's the only one who will trust the humans enough to interract with them? Or maybe she's just been designated the ambassador/ambassadress as she has already "speaka da lingo"?

Perhaps some Nox are selected to be caretakers fo the planet and of the old ways. This family could have been one of these. Someone has to protect that giant bug the Goaulds are always hunting..........stupid Goaulds....they've been looking for it's secret for centuries and we tauri figure it out on our first trip. w00t.gif

That hardly implies intelligence on our part now does it? I mean the only way we figured it out was by being killed, surely you're not suggesting a conscious decision tongue.gif

Strange thought just strikes me, could the Nox be the guardians of the Ancients/Furlings??? All the pacifist talk is just a front. They wield the real power in the galaxy.

Yeah, been thinking of that idea of mine for a few days now. The Goa'uld appear to be the bad guys, but possess very little power in reality - alot of beings are able to kick snake-butt. The ultimate power in the galaxy must lie with someone. Our little furry friends???
