LIFEBOAT

When SG1 goes to a barren planet, they investigate an abandoned ship full of frozen bodies. The mission goes awry when Daniel's body is 'hijacked' by aliens whose own bodies are gone, but their personalities were stored in a databank. Apparently these aliens are survivors of a dying world. Parrin, one of the few living bodies on the ship, willing lets other intelligences 'live' in him, but Daniel is being driven insane by his new occupants. Parrin may be able to save Daniel, but will the cost be too high?

if this summary turns out to be accurate, I think Michael Shanks can now put on his resume

"Expert at playing characters who are posessed or driven insane."

Let's see, help me out here people if you think of more...

"Need" - Daniel gets addicted to sarcophogus and goes through withdrawal.
"Holiday" - Daniel switches bodies with Marchello (extra points for playing both characters, by the way)
"Legacy" - Daniel slowly goes insane when a virus designed by Marchello to kill Goa'uld infects him.
"The Light"- Daniel becomes suicidal after spending time exposed to an addictive light and it's other properties.

anybody else think of more?

"tortured love"..Can't remember the name of the episode but the one were Sha're keeps appearing to him after Teal'c kills her. Poor old Danny, a sad episode for him.

Season finale = series finale, so I doubt the writers will be that dumb, bumbling through an entire season with a 'I do remember but I don't' character who's langauge and archeology skill (ie AQUIRED SKILLS) are needed isn't something that they're going to do. If that were the case they might as well just keep Jonas since he'll probably know more than an anmisiac daniel anyway.

I dont think Daniel will get his memory back till maybe the 5 or 6th episode. Its not going to be overnight. That was said by an Ex Producer. I forget his name. But I bet it could be this episode.

Daniel was alway puting his fingers in something he was not suppose to touch!!!! That is the first thing Jack always says, don't touch anything. If Daniel gets his memory back it will have to be with a little more help then that I would think. Will Carter made it though the computer thingy I'm sure Daniel can too. First it was Jack then it was Carter now Daniel. Teal'c just lieves the same thing over and over and over agin. Ho wait he got cought in a computer thats what the gate is isn't it?

i thought id add to the list of times daniel has been taken over by something inside him at the start of this thread-

'urgo'- gets urgo put in his head to experience new things for its creator
'upgrades'- gets hooked on the arm band that starts to make all the sg1 team to disobey orders.

(now i come to think of it, is there an episode when daniel isnt being taken over by something? lolol)

Yes, there does seem to be a pattern with Daniel being taken over by all things alien... I'm sure there are more episodes like this to that we are just forgetting.

Ok, will have to wait until I see it but this just sounds WAY too like Legacy to me. Let's see... Daniel finds a load of dead (not frozen) bodies. Daniel is driven insane by the previous occupants of the bodies (Machello's Goa'uld killing bugs)...

yes this does seem a bit old hat-ish, but i am willing to let them have a go. perhaps they can make it new and interesting. this show hasn't really dissapointed me yet, so i will give them the benefit of the doubt and let them make daniel insane again. plus it has got to be a blast to act. who wouldn't want to act insane? always fun for the cast i am sure. er....probably...maybe? dry.gif
