SPACE RACE
Written by: Damian Kindler Synopsis: Think "Stargate SG-1 meets Star Wars: Phantom Menace" SG1 has encountered a race which isn't rubbing sticks together to make a fire, but instead, is pretty high tech, and like humans, wastes their technologies on such things as space races. However, SG1 has its own problems. Carter is involved in the race with a pilot named Eamon as well as Warrick (first seen in "Forsaken"). They're competing in the race against some rather nasty aliens. But there appears to be some kind of sabotage, which Teal'c tracks down before being abducted. Meanwhile, O'Neill and Daniel are suffering terribly: they're stuck in meetings. All of this has something to do with the various alien races involved in corruption, conspiracies, greed, and enslavement. Gee, they sound sorta human after all. Characters include Hagan (president of a group that hosts the contest - the Loop of Kon Garat(?); Jarlath (some nasty ugly alien); La'el Montrose (a beautiful female pilot); Muirios (a handsome male pilot); Tynan (someone involved in the race but also in snatching Teal'c); Receptionist; and Warrick (a pilot). # thanks to 'ferret' for the tip http://groups.yahoo.com/group/sg1_spoilme/ |

Oh dear, just as long as there's not some geeky little kid in it who can amazingly fly better that anyone else even though he's only 3ft tall and can't even see out of the cockpit!

Is the race supposed to be in space, like an Indy/NASCAR race in space or is it one on a planet like Star Wars?

Ok, having seen the preview clips this makes sense now. Carter was hanging out with that pilot who said.."Stage two. We are now entering the sun's coronashere"...must've been during the race. Also saw that Teal'c clip...
Alien: The first stage will test the ships's defensive capabilites Teal'c: Against what? |

Do you think they could have that cool techno-type music from the preview clip in the background while they're racing?
Sets the heart racing and the adrenaline pumping- and it is an "adrenaline- based" episode supposedly with cool digital effects- so they need good music during the race! (Soz, bit of a soundtrack fan.) |

I don?t think they will get any tech there, they never do get anything really cool from all those aliens, at least nothing they use (excluding Z-guns and the two reverse-engeneered ships)

aw, they can handle it. i think, deep down, they like getting caught in sticky situations so they can get out of them and then stick their collective tongues out at the other teams and say "nya nya nya, we got out of another close shave"
