CHIMERA (aka The Black Widow Carter episode)

I had wondered about the title of this episaide and I recently came across the subject of Chimera's (also spelled Chimaera) while reading Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix so I looked it up to see how it applied to the "Black Widow Carter" episode.
All I can say is that there is A LOT of different ideas about the Chimaera spanning centuries, but the writers have once again brought in another piece of mythology to the series. The chimaera is a blend of a three creatures (lion, goat, and snake). Most of the stories describe the chimaera as basically a fire breathing monster kind of being that was killed by some guy named Bellerophon who shot a lead tipped arrow through her neck. The tip melted and "sealed the chimaera's insides, killing her (yes, the chimaera is female). I don't know, the only comment on chimaera's I found that seemed to relate to Carter's poor history with regards to her love life was that the story of the chimaera "means that a woman is beautiful to look upon, contaminating to the touch, and deadly to keep". I will be interested to see if they talk about chimaera's in this episode and how the writer's bring up the subject with relation to Carter's love life without seriously offending her. Oh yeah, there was also something about the chimaera and a battle between Marduk and Tiamet. Haven't those two been brought up in past episodes? |

I'm glad the writers are gonna concentrate on Carter's feminine side a bit more, as well as her private life too.
I've said it all along, that girl needs a man- like NOW! If it can't be Jack then let it be someone else before she like goes psycho and rocks herself to and fro muttering, "I'm gonna die an old spinster I am."   |

Its sounds interesting however i wonder if shes told her crew at the sgc shes got herself a lad! should be fun to see what hes like! hope he dnt kick the bucket or disappear poor sam |

Not sure if this belongs in here, but as it has to do with Sam's love life...
I'd like to this: An episode where Sam and Daniel come through the Quantum Mirror. They're from a reality where Earth was wiped out but they escaped and now use the quantum mirror to try to find weapons to fight the Gou'ald, since using the Stargate would present too much risk of running into the Gou'ald and their survival being discovered. Anyway. This and that happens, and O'Neill comes to find out that in their reality, Sam and Daniel got together. All of the sudden he's feeling quite jealous# even though it's not his Sam. That could serve as a catalyst to get Jack thinking about a future together with his Sam. All of that would probably come as a subplot to a bigger one for the episode. |

i had a freaky idea u no like sams getting a boyfriend and her curse bladdy blah well i was looking today to see if there was any more spoilers for season 7 when i looked upon the title for the next episode which doesnt have any spoilers yet "Resurection" get my drift! so maybe he dies then next episode hes brought back du du dun!

oh my days oh my days!!!i reckon that carter should probably invovle Colonel Jack O'neill into her new relationship so that the episode could either be spiced up a little or have him as a back up for when her new boyfriend dies(notice how he 'will' die)meheheh..well   (dont you just love thor!) |

Well, from what I've seen, spamming the board like that is a quick way to get banned.
But anyway, AT said in her chat that there is a hug coming up with her and O'Neill. I'm kinda wondering if when she gets this boyfriend, Jack and Sam have a little talk and he gives her that "I just want you to be happy" crap. |

Maybe he's a Goauld like Osiris? So essentially she isn't getting him killed off and being the baddie, but he's the baddie? Yeah, and I can dream I guess... So if Carter's new b/f isn't a bad guy, and doesn't get killed/ maimed/ arrested by the end of the episode- in other words, he's but a regular guy, then does this mean that he's gonna feature in other episodes after "Chimera" as well? Or will Carter just make references to him? |

Whoever this guy is, if it's going to be serious, he's gonna have to be involved with the SGC somehow, because I don't see how she could have a relationship with someone while keeping that big of a secret. Besides, would she ever actually be home?

Actually in mythology the chimera was killed AND the chimera was a female who basically no man could have. Resurrection could be taken to mean many things and in all liklihood probably has nothing to do with the "Chimera" episode, BUT it would be interesting if SAM was killed by this new boyfriend (as the chimera was) and then she was resurrected in the next episode some how. (By "killing" her, the boyfriend would be breaking the whole black widow "curse.") |

Sam getting killed and resurrected isn't out of the question....I believe it. Maybe the way to bring her back was to graft or transplant something into her to revive her. Therefore, CHIMERA. Get my drift?.... Then..Resurrection.
