 This was a very touching episode. I'd taped it because I knew I would miss it, and found myself watching it over and over for at least a week. The story exemplifies what good sci-fi is all about#the best merits of our humanity, even when it's being demonstrated by an alien. And who could watch Sam lose another love, especially one so innocent yet wise, awkward yet courageously self-sacrificing, without shedding tears. Bravo SG-1! Good job, team! |

who loved this episode? i did
it was very much heart felt and good old amanda tapping(sam carter) won a leo award for a best actress for this episode. i could actually c sam settling with this guy instead of jack but like they say love is cruel  i cant belive she lost him  poor sam will she ever find the right person  |

This is a great episode but i never pictured Carter living in that type of house, I always thourght she would live in a trendy apartment.

yeah wot supprises me is that i always thought sam would live in the appartment and daniel would live in the house but it ended up totally opposite i think it could have been the family home at one point.

Very good eppy, I love Sean Patrick Flannery, he was so earnest. I love how Sam eventually let down her guard, although everyone at work thought she was nuts, until he made himself material. It was really kewl that he built a Stargate through orders on the internet though...

I think Sam was referring to Oma Desala who we met in the episode Maternal Instinct.
On another note I wouldn't have minded Orlan sharing his essence with me as he was gorgeous |

thanks for that.  and i agree with the orlin comment and its a shame they killed him off and i thought it was so sweet him taking human form just to win sams affection i was like AWWWWWWWW. |

Yea Orlin was a good guy... maybe... if we are lucky... in Season 7 if there are progression with the Ancients maybe we will see him again... I mean I am assuming that they will bring htem more into the story line... so maybe we will get lucky... He was a cool character. SrA Pennington |

But at that time he was ascended... I mean yea he just had a Naquda reactor blow up... but he wasnt in human form then... Since as an Ascended being, I'm assuming that you are sorta like an Energy being... Would that have REALLY killed him? Id like to think that it wouldnt. I mean gee... about being ascended if you can still die from stuff.. thats not cool... For instance... When Daniel was Ascended the Staff Weapon shot right through him... and that is just a form of energy... So I"m guessing that you cant Die in the same way as you can as a human... SO hey SMILE.... My understanding is that he is not dead, but used the destruction of the naquadah reactor/generator and the "honkin' big space gun" in order to give himself another chance. He had been restricted to the planet he was on by the other ascended beings, and now that he had redeemed himself he no longer had to be there on his own. That's why he came back after SC in the first place - he was more lonely than anything else, and of course he liked her. But he'd been lonely as he'd been banished. Now he is no longer banished, perhaps he doesn't want to "decend" again?

as they expand the story of the accended people, I dont see any reason why the little fella cant make a come back, though I think it is more likely that jacks little mate scara who accended at the end of season six would be a more probable candidate to comunicate with the SGC

We don't care which one comes back to communicate with the SGC, we just want Orlin to come back and communicate with Sam so she will be happy. She deserves it.
