Season 5, Episode 12 - Wormhole X-treme!
Original Air Date: September 8, 2001 Martin Lloyd (last seen in season 4's Point of No Return) pitches a script to a television studio, which reads suspiciously like the Stargate scenario. Colonel Jack O'Neill is sent to confront him. Stargate SG-1's entire team of writers and producers worked together to pen this special 100th episode. |

I loved this episode. You have to respect a show that makes fun of itself. Reminded me of the Xfiles episode where they filmed a show about a fictional FBI team.

thats what i love about stagate cause youve never got a serious stargate episode you always have humour in stargate cause look at star trek in at least 1 episode you can guarantee youll have no humour wats so ever but in stargate you can never tell cause it will start off serious but then you have one of the members of sg-1 will crack a joke.

Yeh I know , when you think about it Stargate shouldn't be classed a Sci-Fi it should have a class of it's own.

I love this show and the humous content. Anyone who likes Buffy like I do knows that Joss does not consider his show a drama, he thinks of it more like a comedy-esqe horror/sci-fi. I think that humor makes shows like Stargate, Buffy and X-Files have such longevity. Martin is always a riot!!

The funny stuff in this episode were they poke fun at their own show is so cool. It shows the stregthen of the creators that they can risk ridicule off their own show. But its a powerful episode also, hopefully they will bring this race back into the show without the NID being a problem. I've seen suggestions that they may be useful in a final battle for earth against Anubis. That does seem a little far fetched to me.

you have to have a really good script if your putting your own show to shame.

now the reason i really like this ep isn't just because of the humor, but because it prooves my theory (sorry about not continuing the "i thought it was hillarious" trend that was going on!) because the USAF wanted the show to be shown to make suspicious people think that some-one was pulling their leg (if you know what i mean) and could avoid nosey people spilling the beans, and more importantly, if the beans were spilt then not that meny people would belive it! (again because of the "pulling their leg" thing!)
what are your veiws?! |

exactly, and i really can't think of a reason to suggest that a project similar to the SGC isn't in place already in this day and age, i mean how cool would it be if say 20 death gliders turned up in Iraq!!!
it also explains Roswell!!!! |

yes and i got the feeling his team diddn't really like him that much, and also that guy that keeps getting shot, he sould never make an SG team, haily ar whatever her name was, sould be made part of sg1,2 or 3, and the other girl was ok!

hailey was good but dont put her on sg-1 it would ruin the balance im happy with sg-1 original + jonas no one else plzzz and that other girl is the one that shot carter in the training just because she fancied daniel.

Ok, I see your point but what you said dosn't really make that much sense, your saying that X-Files, Buffy and Stargate are long lived because they are humorous... But Star Trek is probibly the longest running Sci-Fi show but this topic is discussiong it's lack of humor. X-Files is very long lived, I agree, but it dosen't strike me as humorous - and Stargate and Buffy really aren't that long lived. |
