Why oh why would Yu let Teal'c go?? He wanted them to suffer and KNOW who it was that was killing them from the sky?? I've often wondering this one, but I can't come up with a good reason.

It's never really been obvious has it? I think that perhaps it's a Goa'uld failing - they can't help but lord it over those whom they enslave. Simple vanity? Or thousands of years of quasi-divine rulership gone to their heads? I'm not sure.

I think that Yu wanted to impress that despite the Jaffa rebellion, many Jaffa were still loyal to the System Lords. I think also that he wanted to make sure that the Jaffa knew that the System Lords knew of their rebellion, and it would be crushed. He wanted them to know exactly who was killing them and why.

But still, there has to be a lot of ego going on somewhere. It's the old clich? of the evil mastermind telling the good guy how he is going to rule the world, only for the good guy to escape and then foil him. James Bond all over again. biggrin.gif

Ok question about the warrior tho....Was it Yu who was on the Hat'ar to blow em all up, because why would Yu warn Teal'c to basically have the chance to evacuate the planet, if Yu was about to destroy Imotpeh etc. himself?? mmmm...i loved the fight between Teal'c n Impoteph, quality effects with the fight! I love it how it pauses and zooms around them, wanna see more of those kinda figthts!

I've been giving that some thought and the only reason I can conclude is the Yu is the only system lord who sees some value in the SGC that could further help his own ambitions. I recall an earlier episode of SG in which the SGC contacted Yu concerning the specifications of a Goa'uld base or ship over the objections of the Tok'ra. This was key information that Yu was unaware of and he knew that if it were allowed to stand it would upset the balance of power and hurt an uneasy stability among the system lords.

In Season three episode three, "Fair Game", it was the SGC who saved his life and helped to uncover who was trying to sabotoge the Protected Planets Treaty Conference, Nirrti. I believe so long as the other system lords are around and a bigger threat is out there, Yu will continue to work with the SGC in secret until they no longer serve a beneficial purpose to him.

I agree to that Yu seems to acting at least half allied to earth, prob due to real politics I might add but...
Which episdoe did sg contact Yu? Yu is seen before in 'fair game', where he isn't injured but plays the god gou'ald (Cronos being the evil) and the summit-last stad episodes, where Yu is desived by Daniel, giving him access to the summit, and this one
Yu was also the only system lord voting down Anubis ( and prob the system lord that was left from the banishment of Anubis) and he might use strange tactics to keep power

At first I thought the freedom moment were just a Anubis jaffa recrutment thingie, but Yu's behavier seems to conterdit that a bit

Unless: Yu wanted Teal'c to kill the warror and therefore dispatching the Jaffas from Anubis, but still is it really better to have a Jaffa rebelion on the los then killing them?
Hmm it is if you don't expect to live so much longer maybe, leaving a mess for the next in charge

tha James bond syndrom: Yu might have suffered suverly from it since he not only tells Teal'c of some plans, he also relises him and send him back to the Jaffa moment, and from the looks of it, without any mind control

I wonder what the system lords desided after Daniel left them by the way (something I will learn in 6x22?)

Another question: What are the jaffas drinking in this episode?

Earlier Teal'c stated he doesn't use alcohol, and I got the feelning that that was commun amoung Jaffa, still I don't think it was water in those glasses

But of course they might be forbidden to drink on the job, and they might have litel spearetime when workning for gou'alds => they might start when free

Now this episode I loved! cool.gif And I felt that K'tano was very charismatic. The way Teal'c was impressed by his courage and resolve was fascinating.

I think I know why lord Yu released Teal'c back to the Jaffa rebellion planet. Teal'c's return did not change any of the strike's odds because Yu's ships arrived almost immediately subsequent to Teal'c return. But this is not a reason.

I suppose that if he did not allow Teal'c to return, all those Jaffas would've died with the illusion of being free and proud. However, by knowing that they were serving a Goa'uld all along, they would die in humiliation and sarrow. Yu being a Goa'uld and all would prefer the optional humiliation and sarrow in addition to the basic death deal wink.gif

On a last note, when the hell will the Goa'uld start realizing that their weapons' aiming teachniques suck and start doing something about it? The margin of error on their weapons is ridiculous!

i hated k'tano. anybody that pulls sg1 apart is not a friend of mine! yu, on the other hand... biggrin.gif biggrin.gif he is the absolute best goauld out there!
but yeah, i liked the ep, especially the end, of course, when teal'c kills k'tano.
and good point, Aceuss about why yu let them go. that was kinda confusing.

Wasn't the best episode but had a loads of good quotes because of the funny banter between the team.

DANIEL: Tek ma tey is a greeting of respect
JACK: OK!
DANIEL: I was just saying
JACK: I don't care
DANIEL: OK!

JACK: Deliverance? Did you see what happened to the guys in that movie?

And basically the whole scene with the team and Katano when they first meet and the look that Jack gives Carter and Daniel when he surprises them by greeting Katano with Tek ma Tek!

P.S. Loved Carter trying to hide her smile when this happened;

KATANO: I see you are a man who speaks his mind O'Neill
JACK: Yes, which is why I don't say much.

rolleyes.gif I'm just a little crazy for quotes!
