What he means is that the aliens asking for help were facists. It seemed as if they were facists, since they dispised "The Breeders," who didn't clone their offspring and instead reproduced the natural way. Also, their leader showed disdain for Teal'c, because he was different. The episode was pretty good, I did find myself siding with Daniel, because SGC should've gotten more info about this war those people were fighting before rendering aid. The ending sort of shocked me, I never expected O'Neill to have the iris closed when he knew that guy was going to go through the gate. Overall, a pretty good episode. |

This is one episode I love to hate. I agree with the facist line, and Daniel wanting to here two sides of the story, but you have to understand Jacks side of the story too. He now knows that he is falling for Carter, he also what something to show for what they are doing. Find weponds to kill the gou'lds, no matter what it takes. He would have felt ok with what he was doing, untill that guy Alar slamed Tea'l. Just because he looked different he did not like him, with out even talking to him(Teal'c).

I think this shows how the team is lossing a little of their concern for others to get weapons. They were ready to help this people without knowing the facts.
I was very angry with Jack saying Daniel to keep quiet while he was doing a negotiation. I mean, they were very close to be alies to people who couldn't stand a different being. |

I had to watch this episode 3 times to understand what was going on. The first time I was like "Uh..." and got majorly confused. By the second time I realised that they were clones in stasis and the third time I realised that the "breeders" were normal people.

I found this to be one of the more disturbing episodes of the series. The fact that this alien race was committing genocide and SG-1 and the U.S. Government was very close to assisting in that genocide. I'm glad to see that Alar character got his in the end. *thump*

Yeah, this was an interesting episode from an ethics standpoint
But what if the SGC had provided just enough heavy water to keep the defences operational - and insisted on stopping the gassing as the price to pay for the heavy water ? There were loads of opportunities missed in this episode - what about relocating the bad guys to another world entirely - wouldn't that be worth the technology they were offering ? (the aschen seemed to think so) Think about what we could have had, fusion reactors, sheilds, UCAV's etc - and we could have forced an end to the conflict Not that I condone the Eurondans tho ...'cos I can't |

Daniel sugested sevral times that the nazis could use the stargate to find an other planet, the nazis refused, claiming they wanted the planet efter the war
And these gays seemed quite Hitler-in-the-bunker to my eyes, just some more tech involved, not about some inheritant evil inte the technology of cloning but the way it was deployed But it took me a while to figure out that they didn't like Teal'c because he is black, not that he is a jaffa Nice ep, i'm not that sure that they wouldn't brought the leader in a more real situation thous |

They probably didn't like Teal'c because he was black and a Jaffa. They didn't like him because he was different, period.
Regarding the suggestion that SG1 could've provided them enough heavy water to sustain themselves but not win the war in exchange of a cease fire and surrender, I guess that would've been an unwise choice. Those guys are truly ruthless and devious. I mean, the idea of poisining the whole world is just creepy. Besides, they tried tricking the SG1 team into helping them in the first time. They even had O'neill fight with them breifly and kill a couple of the breeders. God only knows what other tricks they would come up with. They might even do something to destroy earth since we are truly breeders |

I think Carter should have taken the funky computer data device and ran Glad to see that the leader did Die at the end.. but it still would have been nice to lock him up like the Gou'ald that the NID had.. and get info from him that way... We could have used some of that tech. But hey... Some times you have to stand by your principles... SrA Pennington |

Very true, but they could have given the breeders the opportunity to relocate instead, that would save everyone a lot of grief I'm pretty sure there could have been a way to get the tech, I think they should have captured the leader - that would have sufficed There are parralells with WWII where german rocket scientists were captured by the Russians and americans |

I like this one because the story is very good. I am surprised at the end, and I blame myself to don't notice that they are all white. Am I like them ? I hope not ! The end is good.Jack killed the man, even if he said the he would give he technology. GOOD !

This was the first episode of stargate I had ever seen. I thought it was pretty good otherwise I would not have become involved with Stargate. Plus, I would not be here now, gracing you with my presence.
