Well I'm not sure that it's a crush so much as someone he loved before he even met his wife - which for all we know could have been 50 years previously as he is supposed to be in his 80s I think. But yes, certainly it's a bit different from the run of the mill action for Teal'c.

Tanith did the killing.

She was in the Mortal Combat 2 movie wasn't she? Anyone else find her annoying? I hate the way she talks. I also hate the way Anise/Freya talks. Sam > Both of them combined biggrin.gif

No vow of chastity for the priestess of the temple, huh?
That?s not right?
Maybe it was some sort of secrete love?

But I didn?t like her? she wanted to take Teal?c away, and make him live on chulak and? I would have missed his developing sense of humor?

i felt sad for her- she had this big hope of doing something no jaffa ever thought possible, much less done before, and then she was killed before she knew what went wrong. that was sick. but that's the goa'uld for you.

I thought that I read somewhere that the DVD version of this episode has some added scenes or something. Please don't quote me on any of this because I just vaguely remember something. Has anyone in the UK noticed this? if not than I'm just mistaken.

I found it interesting that Teal'c's symbiote had the memories of his father's death. This must have meant that the Queen that spawned him served Cronus and was watching the death from his side.

Something else I was wondering was how the Goa'uld get their names... I guess the Queen that spawns them must pass on a name in the genetic memory since they all know their names before they mature and take a host.

Maybe they?re simply advanced enough to think of a name that would suit them. I?d like to be able to choose my own name.

Do you guys realize that Teal?c actually cheated on his wife in that episode?
I would have expected a great debate concerning weather that was ?wise? or not, and what would you have done given the same opportunity.

Which brings me to another question: Are Jaffa anatomically compatible to the human race? Given their physiology and the ease with which they take human hosts, I believe they are.

That can only lead me to believe that the ?Janet and Teal?c? poll was not in vain.

I wondered that too when we first met Tanith, he just kinda announced his name to everyone and i thought, hang on......how do you know thats your name?

I wondered both things. It was indeed interesting that Teal'c's symbiote had those memories, and how all symbiotes are mass produced, yet they seem to have a uniqueness to them.

Never thought of Teal'c as cheating on his wife, but your right he did! When we saw him go back to Chulak for Rya'c's implantation early on, the both of them arent exactly a great couple at that moment. I mean, Teal'c just left and went to Earth, never said a thing to his wife, sort of like a guy going to 'buy milk' and never coming home, this event probably ended their relationship in an intimate way.

Tanith is a good enemy of Teal'c, it's got to be said biggrin.gif

Question, is Teal'c wife a jaffa priestess or human?

Teal'C was really basking in the afterglow when he walked out of her quarters. Ah, I know the feeling... haven't felt it in awhile, but I'm glad somebody's gettin' some. He had a smile a mile wide and Daniel tried to invite him to breakfast and asked him if he needed to talk. Daniel may have his nose in a book all the time, but c'mon, he couldn't figure out Teal'C was doin' it Jaffa style? I wonder if he ever made it to the commissary. Breakfast is the most important meal of the day.

I did think it was strange that Teal'C was so eager to leave the SGC and return to Chulak with her. That must have been some good lovin', because he totally turned his back on his wife & child to fight the gou'ald with SG1. I always thought it was strange that he didn't return to Chulak more often. He must get some off duty time and it's only few steps to the Gateroom. I love Teal'C, but he's really an absentee father and a cheat. Not so honorable.

The actor who played Tanith was very good, because I totally HATED him. That means he did his job well. That last scene between him and Teal'C was brilliant. You could see the seething hatred between the two of them, and understand the true meaning of their words. Teal'C was all, "We will meet again... you have my promise." And we all know he meant, 'You will die a slow and painful death by my hand!

Great episode.

Depends. Are they even still married by Chulak law?

As for female Jaffa - where do you think the male Jaffa come from? There is also the one that Ammonet came out of.

Presumably not, unless Jaffa marriages extend beyond death smile.gif

That was ep. 208 "Family". Teal'c's wife married Fro'tac, Teal'c's close friend. I guess in jaffa customs, if you're wife/husband leaves and doesn't plan on returning anytime soon, then you can remarry. I doubt they have a divorce system.

Ah, sorry. I replied as I did because you said 'are' instead of 'were', implying presently.
