ok, I'll admit that it wasn't a showstopper, but there were some good moments...

...Sam discovering that Jack and Daniel had bet on weather or not she'd take some time off.

...Jack trying to get Daniel from jumping off his balcony, then later having to carry him through the gate before he died.

.... Jack: "Great. All those years of just saying no."

...Teal'c: "I will be one hundred years of age"
Lorn: "You don't look it."
Teal'c: "So I've been told."

I'm not really sure what the purpose of this episode was, although it did have it's moments. Certainly it seemed like another "addicted" episode, apparently one that MS wasn't too happy about playing the addict in. He felt that he had already done that in Need and Legacy, and had to be convinced by the writers that this was really the way to go. That said, he does a very convincing job of portraying an addicted person.

It's interesting that O'Neill was affected less, in some respects anyway, than the members of his team. He seemed to be able to drag himself away from the light more readily. Is this a suggestion that he has more strength of character?

Mmm, way back in Season 1's "Hathor" it was mentioned that O'Neill was trained against mental attacks and things like that. The black ops an' all for 10+ years might build up a barrier after weird alien after awhile. So I guess you could say he had more strength than most of the other characters.

Yay. I feel so special. I usually go to look at your posts, chiroho for answers but now I was finally able to give you one. biggrin.gif

Or could it just be that Jack's been additcted before - there was some mention of him having done the drugged and tied to the bed thing in another episode (was it Divide and Conquer?)

If so, he might just be more resistant to that sort of thing having been through it already.

I found this episode a bit boring, but technically and visually stunning. I also liked the interaction between Jack and Loren. Jack definately has a way with kids (having been a doting father that's not surprising).

I loved the bit on Daniel's balcony with Jack trying to talk him down. We knew he wasnt going to do the swan dive thing - but it was nerve wracking just the same.

Bored. Bored. Bored.
Not much going on here. This one was kinda lame.
One thing in particular that pissed me off about this is that when the light was on they lost track of time. But with out the light they were alright. But they were still being fed the drug. (whatever).
then they shut it off.
Geez lame ep. whistling.gif

My bad... I think he was supposed to be 102 or 103, but yeah I remember it was over a hundred, because it was one those things that made me sit up and take notice.

I think they just need a layover episode to let a few little nitpicks happen.

This was my least fave episode next to "the changeling", (what was the point of that?!)

Did anyone else think that the little arguement between Sam and Jack could have ended in them kinda pouncing on eachother if Teal'c hadnt called O'Neill? I reckon it was deffinately one of those sexual arguements that enevitably ends with a passionate kiss, and they had recently been forced to admit their feelings for eachother in an earlier ep. wub.gif wub.gif

Watched it again on TV tonite,

Yes....a romp on the beach would have been nice. That part when they were at each other's throats, with the build up of tension after that "Sir" dialogue made me snort....

I love this episode, everybody loose their temper !
The light is a so good idea: it is like a drug. They need the light to be safe, so they must stay on the planet.
But, what have they done during the period they must to be "wean(ed)"? As Jack has proposed, have they spend their time on the beach ?

Although it was one of my least fave eps, you gotta love that light!

Hell, it had me just staring at it for a while!
