I am in that weird in between land where I loved certain aspects of this episode and had to struggle hard to stay awake during others - and that was even with the DVD fast fowarding action.
I loved seeing a more assertive, bouncy fun, determined-to-have-that-fun version of Sam. I liked the visuals, heck I even liked the satiric take off on the announcers - who were so cheesy and over-the-top that it made for a fun parody as far as I was concerned. But I'm also the person that figured out 19 different ways to check my watch during the pod race in Star Wars Episode I. So, race scenes don't do it for me. Other things did though. The aforementioned "Oh it's a different side of Sam!" The two races trying to live together, etc. I really wanted to love this one but instead I liked it and that was simply because I desperately wanted Sam to have a little bit of joy in her life. She was like a big incredibly intelligent kid in her excitement about the race. I found it fun for that reason. |

This episode was good, though the race reminded me of Star Wars Episode I, when Anakin was racing his space pod. It would of been better if we could actually see more racing action. It was nice seeing Sam having fun! We should see more that that.. hehe`
The city was awesome; I didn't know they watched TV lol. |

I thought the announcers were so broadly played that it was quite witty. And I'm with you on the race from SW, the whole time, I could see George Lucas thinking "And this is my video game." To me, the funniest part was Jack saying to Teal'c "How many times do I have to tell you, don't get caught by the bad guys?" |

Jack the whole way through the episode was soo funny one of his funniest episodes hes ever done, he wasnt in it much but when he was i couldnt help but laugh. The race itself wasnt very exiting no but it didnt present itself on being exiting, rather about the situation that comes with the race. Though thats just my opinion.

Unfortunately it seems as though RDA has been reduced to a comedy role. All we get from him now are one liners and sarcasm. |

Its true thats all he does now, the show never writes him serious lines anymore like they did in the first bunch of seasons now every line they write for him is just sarcastic, even when it shouldnt be.

Its as if the writers dont take his character serious anymore. Surely the Air Force advisor should be able to point out that a true Brigadier General would not behave in that fashion when negotiating for the life of a person under his command. |

I didn't think this was one of the better episodes, it started off slow, the ending was great though.
The acting was great but i didn't get any feelings from Sam. |

Not the best epi but I had fun with it. It's ok to have an epi like that every now and then. You know, just for the fun of it.

I didn't like this episode becuase it lacked something from some of the non-main characters-- something called acting. The guy who Cartar picked up was a very weak character and was easily persweaded into boarding their ship, and just being angry at him for no reason. It was an ok episode

Really didnt like that episode. I think one of the reasons why stargate is so popular is because unlike other SCI-FI programs there is a serious lack of dodgy looking aliens. This episode got 2 *s i strongly believe that is because no one liked the look of those goons. Also the way on how Stargate somehow seems so possible dispite the fact that if it is possible it is unfortuneatly a long way off our current level of technology. Even the episode with the UNAS seems bad to me.

Ya, also not a fan. The announcers were just too cheesy and didn't Voyager have an episode pretty much JUST like this? I don't know who was first though...
