Great episiode but sort of a cliffhanger, the ending was a little rushed but i give it
***1/2

special effects were the bomb and i see why they made some cheap episodes smile.gif the cg looked nice but i didnt like the new design for the ring platforms.

and the new president > anubis, he just took the piss outta him quality stuff
i was expecting more from the end, like a big honking space gun...

I thought that ep was great from the beginning. The battle scenes were amazing... I got such a buzz and even squieled (to odd looks from my family) when the X302s went head on with the gliders.

Hammond captaining the promethius was great. He final got into some real action.

I liked the strange things that strangely looked like the robots in hte matrix, at the end. That weopon sure kicked ass.

Teal'c and Jacks moment was moving.
Sams look was moving crying.gif
Bratacs smile was moving.

I wouldnt of minded the human race to be of taken over just to wipe the smile of Kinseys face, but the pres did that for me.

Finally, I liked Weir this ep, I wouldnt of minded her staying in command. Oh well...

A job well done to the writers.

the ep was great, good build up last week and a cool ending. they could of made the weapon better though, but that was classy still.
Hayes was wiked when he spoke to anubis. comedy value 10/10
Also the shut the hell up to kinsey made his rating rocket.
Less adverts and more battle scenes with anubis's fleet would have been great but i still give it 10/10
best ep made in a long while. dont like these politicals much anymore

WOW what an episode i loved it!!!! It is by far the best episode ever!!!! And it does make full circle (an episode which i think is brill) seem average if you know what i mean.

There were so many good moments to this episode and the battles were amazing and ANUBIS GOT DESTROYED!!!!! Those things that destroyed him looked very weird but they did look alien.

And how they ended it with jack in stasis!!! How can they leave it like this!!!! Im going to have to wait till september to be able to see how it unfolds and this does make it a good opener for the next series i assume.

And they still havent found the lost city yet!!!! I thought that this episode was called the lost city because they were going to find it, but they didnt, just an outpost. But a neat twist and that does also make it look more promising for the atlantis pilot.

And the shipie moments too were there aswell and i liked what they did with it though i would have rathered them say what they were thinking then say it in...the way they did.

I was also hoping before the episode started that the prometheus would get destroyed but as soon as i saw gary jones on it i really wanted it to survive, seriously. But i suppose its probably for the best that it wasnt destroyed for the future of the show.

And i saw that jaffa was going to be bad from when we first saw him, when he said he wanted to tag along that made it obvious, i dont know about other people and if they saw it coming.

And 30+ motherships!!! weve never seen a system lord have that many before.
And herac got destroyed!!!! I liked him!!! I wanted him to have lived but oh well.

And it made it unclear if the world found out or not, it would make sence that they would know given that the ships did fly over the antarctica and it wouldnt make sence no one in the world monitoring it. I hope that the world does know.

Im glad they stuck with the crossword thing too from pt1 and that was funny, i liked some of the humour in this episode.

Now on to the bad points (yes there are some) Firstly they made it to obvious the jaffa was bad. Secondly i know poeple liked this but i thought that the president wasnt taking anubis in his office seriously enough, in real life he would be scared out of his pants but he wasnt, he was acting cocky which isnt realistic, I know peopole like that because its like jack but its unrealistic, the presedent would take these sort of situations seriously. But thats it for the bad points

Overall a great episode and it very well deserves 10/10 and im sure you will all agree with me.

Ps ive never made a post this long before. When i think of more (which i will) ill post more. And i assume the 606 people that were on this website earlier was because of this episode. I wonder how many people will be on when this is shown in america.

OMG!!! It was soooooo great, loved the special effects. When is Season 8 out!!!
No to soon? I'll just have to watch every stargate I have on tape.
I loved the acting in this ep, everything that needed to be said was in the looks.
Great fight scene DAMN SKY ONE for putting a damn break in just as i was getting into it. Even my dad yelled B*****d at the TV.
I'll give in 100/100 and an A** to the special effects guys

Brilliant but not in a way i expected!

A definite ****1/2

Some good points such as the humour from Henry Hayes. I loved the way in which he spoke to Anubis and told Kinsey to resign, that was brilliant dialogue!

I also enjoyed the way in which Dr. Weir at least attempted a joke and realised rather quickly what was happening when main power went down, it helped to create a more "human" feeling about her, instead of an intrusion in SGC.

I also loved the way in which Jack wrote the address to the planet in a crossword...there are some more obvious ways but it worked!.

The showing of ancient technology was brilliant, the neural interface is excellent and also i have to say the weapon(s)!!! That was brilliant, the best guided weapon ever! Although i was expecting big, massive cannons that fire lightning.

The ring technology was finally identified as ancient and not Goa'uld! Glad that was cleared up.

The heroic defence of Hammond and the F-302's and also Hammond's willingness to sacrifice his own life to save Earth! All excellent!!!

However having said ALL that, i feel that there were a few bad points.

The first of which was the fact that nothing happened between Sam and Jack of any significance and he had resigned, so there as nothing stopping them!!!!

Second was the fact that there was no real threat from the Goa?uld they just sent a few shots down at the Aircraft carriers, sent a few attack gliders and then got blown up!!

I am sure there are more but i am VERY tired and want to re-watch the episode.

So i think its is a brilliant season finale!!!

yeah damn good end of series ep, I give it 10/10 w00t.gif
special effects in this one where totally cool, I thought it was starwars for a second there, hammond on the prometheus, yeah go get 'em boy... w00t.gif
its eps like this that make the series what it is and what with the crap thats about at the moment, for gods sake dont cancel the series and leave us with atlantis.
with a series this strong, I'd say that stargate will keep running for season 9 and beyond...and Atlantis down the crapper where it belongs tongue.gif

That oficially rocked my world. This may just have been the episode that turns me from a nonchalant fan to an obsessive. Damn, I promised I never do that again. And yes, I am late to the party, but lucky for me I got Sky One! wink.gif

Ok so I always get very excited when I see lot and lots of buzzy little spaceships trying to blow up a big f**koff one, followed by man's last best hope purposefully ramming itself in a kamikaze run into the enemy. Yay!
Not quite a space battle, more a hovering over the Antarctic battle, but a damn fine show from us Tauri. Hammond rocks, Hayes rocks, Jack rocks, Bratac rocks, Teal'c Sam and Daniel rock and even Dr Weir rocks kind of. I loved this episode and soon, I may find some other words that "rocked" to describe it. Right now I'm sticking with "rocked".

I wasn't expecting such a range of emotions within the space of one hour. The humour at the start, and pretty much throughout was unexpected because I thought it was going to be a tense Earth-in-peril/lots-of-angst type. Proof that Jack O'Neill does indeed rock the world even when he's not saying anything and being uncharacteritically smart. I didn't realise I was missing him until now. It was also so...well I wouldn't say sad but they definitely upped the angst quotient. Being a huge angst fan and an even huger angstromance fan I was completely in love with the ending of this episode. I loved the shippiness. Hey, I'm a shipper, what did you expect? Given the way it's been bigged up in spoilers I was expecting something really dramatic, but it was refreshingly subtle enough not to enrage the majority of non shipper type fans. Yeah, just a nice teamly moment of concern...only us rabid romantics could ever interpret that as anything more. Heh heh.

And the Prometheus helmed by Hammond and...was that Chevron Guy sitting there being a hero? Whoo hoo! It may not have saved the day and might be a little lame and ungainly as space craft go but it's ours dammit and it kept our boys (and girl) safe while they found the weapon that would save us. And what a weapon too. I've never seen anything so destructive look so beautiful (except my brothers ex but that's another story). Does this mean that earth has got a permanent ultra powerful weapon on standby any time we need it, or was this a one off deal?

I loved Kinsey getting what was coming to him. Pity he didn't actually get anything more than booted out of politics though. Good to see him skulking off with his tail bewtween his legs. I expect we'll see him resurface with even less scruples and even more capacity to do real harm in season 8

Poor Jack. Obviously not in the least bit comfortable with the thought that his mind is about to go ga ga and turn him into the savoiur of mankind. Mind you the pressure of knowing that you're earth's last best hope must be quite something to deal with. And all Sam, Daniel and Teal'c could do was follow him hopelessly and try and keep up with him. Didn't expect to see him doing that healing thing though, but kind of cool. Does this mean that the Ancient knowledge is actually overwriting his DNA as well as his brain and making it possible that he is, actually, turning into an ancient? Maybe it's just something he tapped into that humans could do anyway if we knew how...actually that would be pretty cool too.
Mostly I loved the ending. Did I already say that? Well good enough to say again IMPO. What a cliffhanger! Earth is safe but Jack is frozen in carbonite...er...I mean an Ancient pod device thing. It was a little Han Solo in the carbonite thing though wasn't it? All we were missing was a desperate and impassioned "I love you" and an "I know" and a couple of knowing looks and...hey, wait a minute! Hmmm.unsure.gif I'm not complaining much though because I still reckon if you're going to pay homage to something you might as well make it one of the best movies ever made.

I'm extremely glad that the lost city turned out not to be in the Antarctic after all. I think that would have been a little pompous. I'm also extremely glad that this didn't turn out to be an extended pre-pilot for Atlantis. Yes there were wee mentions there but it was totally an episode in it's own SG1 right and a brilliant way to end the season. I can honestly say that if they never made another episode I'd be more than happy with that as the end. Fortunately they are making more. Can't bloody wait now.

Favourite line: Under celestial body he wrote Uma Thurman"
Has Jack O'Neill all over it. biggrin.gif

Oh and one more complaint which i am annoyed at and have only just realised is that in the lowdown they prommised us we would find everything about the ancients like where they are now and what theyve been doing sice they accended but we got none of this in any way which i am annoyed at. They promissed us and they havent delivered. I thought they would in this episode but they didnt!!!

And i also would have though it would have been good if they had shown a far off shot of those sentinels attacking the gould ships, like a really far off shot that we can see loads of the ships being attacked at once by the sentinels. That would have been cool!!

Brill episode though

Great episode and a good end to a not so good season. Anyway, I enjoyed this two parter, the battle secenes were great, Kinsey got fired, the President was like Jack especially when talking to Anubis and Kinsey. There were some things about this episode that kind of annoyed me though.

It was obvious the Jaffa with the ship would betray them.

Where were the Asgard, There not fighing the Replicators anymore shouldn't they have sent a few ships to help us when Anubis' fleet showed up.

What was with Anubis' battle strategy? Take out a battle group and knock out communications. Why didn't he level a couple of cities and then ask for Earths surrender.

I hope thats not the end of Anubis. If it was, it wasn't a good exit for his character and there are still unansweared questions about him and the Ancients.

Overall it was a great episode and these last few episodes have been really good. Im looking forward to seeing what happens in season 8 and Atlantis.

Hey, first off i'd just like to say that this is by far the best episode from season 7, "Cruvas, a little fronic" was just great and Carters expression, lol.

However i seem to have noticed a bad point that nobody else has posted.

When O'Neill is making the ship go faster and Carter says that she was given permission to take over, why did she say General Hammond said she could take command? I mean, he isn't the head of the SGC anymore and i assume since when they are in the battle over antarctica that she tells him it's good to see him, that she hasn't seen him since he went to washington, though i may be wrong about that, but still... why does she say General Hammond authorised her to do so?

excellent stuff, cant wait now for season 8... w00t.gif
oneill really makes the show what it is...with those one liners (I really hope he dont leave as I think hes the best on there)
now to watching them all again on VHS, got the first two dvds of season 7, totally cool or what, this series will never get old and I hope will run with season 9 with oneill and his one liners...its just watching the opening credits really gives u a buzz with the stargate theme tune whistling.gif
I dont agree with the season 7 not being that good, sure there are a few eps but I would say than can be the case in all seasons there are "Filler" eps that are Non-story arc related, its really good. season 6 was okay, it did have 2 eps with daniel in so not a dead loss there.
I reckon the show will survive to the 9th season, as if you think about it there lining up Atlantis along side Season 8, so if Atlantis bombs in the ratings, then they will still have SG1 on season 8. I mean is that you'll never find another cast to replace SG1, it just aint gonna happen. wink.gif

Take out the battle group to test if we had Ancient weapons.

Knock out communications so that the show does not have to tell the world about the stargate. Same thing for the cities.

A great episode. Some nonstop action, suspense and the chicken sh!t Kinsey runs when it all comes down. An adventure in which Earth had to handle the matter all by itself with the true friendship of a couple of long standing Jaffa. I can only envision what a season 8 episode will be like when Jack comes face to face with the Tok'ra again.

Annubis took out all the communications and such so we couldn't retal to the ships. The first rule of war is to take out communications. And also this was very cleverly written to still keep the stargate a secret. They are sticking to the meteor story and when they saw the bright lights in the sky when they were blown up they can say they blew up a big comet with nukes when it was headed towards earth like in Armagedon.

But Annubis not destroying cities was because he wanted to take the Ancient tech and not destroy it. Annubis wants more powerful weapons else he could have just destroyed the whole planet after the scout ship was untouched when destroying a fleet of naval ships.

By destroying communications they also stopped the mobilization of troops and planes. The I mean they used regular missles to take out the ships that was at the south pole, they could have easily taken alot of them out with regular f-16 fighters, surely they are at a disadvantage but with the military force of the whole earth they would outnumber those gliders 100 to 1.

This was THE best episode to date IMO. Full of emotions, all the previous seasons built up to this moment; and it was worth the wait.

I can't wait for Season 8 / Atlantis, I wonder who will fix O'neill. I'm thinking they find Atlantis and take O'neill there to cure him. But I hope that the Asgards help instead, I love those guys!
