This episode was surprisingly good, considering how freaking annoying the TV guy was. It was nice to see Janet being adorable.
One thing that REALLY bothered me: Are they getting lazy?? They used the P90 sound for the MP5!!!!!!!!! WHY????? They did this for the AK-47's in Ev. Pt. 2 and it really pissed me off! they used to use real MP5 sounds....what's going on? |

I know it was really funny, and i want to know what jack was saying to kinsey just as the off world activation siren went-off, i really want to know whether they actually swore (if someone can read lips) or made it up until the scene ended. But it wasn't fully living up to all the hype it got, but if they had shown both parts together then it might have been well worth th wait for the second part.

So did I....It would be nice to see him again!
And ThreeFriesShortofahappymealwacko....could you, in the future, not post spoilers in episode-specific threads again unless they relate to the episode in question? Thanks. |

I think the episode wasn't so interesting as the latest's (Chimera , Fallout)
Hey did someone noticed, that Anubis drone was like as Starwars imperial drone ? Imho, where the main line of story, where is the force's with Anubis super soldier's ? And where the russian team, they are working in SGC too. So the repoter must to had interested for taking one or two interview with russian's. Heh, hopely the second part will be more better, because is bohring to see only sam-episode, or tealc-episode &=) This post has been edited by Proton911: Feb 5th 2004, 6:38 PM |

yer i didn't mind this episode, it was very funny but slow moving & got a bit boring but it seems like part 2 is going to change the mood quickly & get very serious when the sg teams go in to rescue, can't wait 4 it.
BTW i loved that bit with the airman in the control room talking about what he does very funny. |

I like this one, much better than Chimera or DK. Why ? Because, for the first time in this seventh season, we have a "real" STG, with a really good story. Actors play so well and it is the best humorous episode of this season (especialy the interview of Teal'C
I give a 9/10 and I am very impatient to see the next part ! |

Well, Andy4an, I'll overlook your extreme rudeness on the grounds that you're annoyed. And, yes, you're right. I apologise for the spoiler. I guess this one slipped through because it never occurred to me there could be a fan left on the planet who didn't know this fact by this point and because I've been tending to think of these two as one episode for so long it got to be a habit.
But it was a spoiler for all that and I regret accidentally spoiling the episode for you. Spoiling someone's fun with the show is never something I'd do deliberately. Quite simply, I didn't think and I should have taken more care to before posting. Albion This post has been edited by Albion: Feb 6th 2004, 9:21 AM |

Good to see Jack O'Neill on true form, something we haven't seen much of recently. Don't want to repeat the obvious great moments that have been mentioned already regarding this episode, however I must add:
As the reporter went to shake Jack's hand (going into the lift), Jack coughs into his own hand before offering it to Emmet - Class! Carter's comment regarding the stargate spinning "It's really cool, steam comes off it and everything" (need visual of her saying it really for ha ha factor!) |

I enjoyed this episode, but it wasn't the best. I found it a little slow, and the scenes with SG-13 seemed out of place until the end. I did like the humor of the episode though. I especially liked when Daniel got paged and starting running to see if the crew would chase him.

I just received my copy of it and watched it.
Funny and kinda non-action ep. I like how they are setting up for Atlantis. Its been rumored on FilmJerk.com that Adam Baldwin will be one of the front people for Atlantis. And this ep had lots of Ancient runes all over the place. I can't wait till the next one. Cheers |

Mmmm lightly toasted, slightly salty yet-oh-so-sweet.. oh wait.. wrong review..
Yup.. I liked this ep a lot.. at first, I was a bit disappointed.. 'cuz i figured there'd be guns 'n fighting 'n people dying 'n staff weapon blasts 'n people dying 'n stuff.. but i guess that's next week Love the subtle humor.. and the not-so-subtle humor (read: Jack's humor). I ummm did happen to lip-read a bit of what Jack said to the senator.. Oh my! not sure I can post it but ummmm.. it goes something like this... Jack: you smarmy self-righteous (sirens blare) a**hole (sirens blaring) limp-d*cked (sirens blaring.. cut to camera crew...some mumbling overheard... cut back to Jack & Kinsey.. sirens blaring) sonuvab*tch... Kinsey: Duty calls Jack: Ok.. i was done.. LOL and I love the many "Jack in the elevator" scenes where he's trying to avoid the reporters.. and the on-going "memo" gag that's been around since.. what.. season one? And yes Jack.. shots of your ass will serve me very well... |

It was an okay ep, but I'm hoping part 2 will be a better balance to part 1. My favorite SGC stuff was probably Frasier talking about O'Neill's medical history. I think my main problem was the guy (character, not actor) doing interviews, especially with Daniel's sit-down interview. That one stuck out as a blown opportunity.
I hate to say it, but for me, SG13 stole the show on this one. I loved the blue-collar, everyday guy on the job aspect of them, and it actually answered a question I've had in the back of my mind. What kind of unit would sign up for an SG team number usually associated with bad luck? Yep, this one. Col: I don't see any indication of anything here. Balinski:Take the usual bet on that sir? Col: Sure. Wells? Wells:Abandoned Naquada mine. Col: Boring. Good Odds. Bosworth? Bosworth: I'm going to put my money on trees, sir. Col: Bosworth's disqualified for being a smart ass. Wells: Hostile or friendly, sir. Col: One head good, one head bad. Balinski? Balinski: Ruins of an ancient city. Col: Yeah, you wish. |

I thought this episode was very funny and there was some good humour to it, the best was the teal'c interview.
BUT....this was one of the worst episodes ive ever seen!!! I like humour in episodes i think its great but there was nothing compelling about it, nothing to keep you watching and i didnt like it that much. It got boring before the credits had shown and i expected there to be lots of action to it. Even though i thought it was funny, i thought it was was crap (in comparison to normal episodes that is). I think if i watch it again though i will like it more especially if i watch it with part 2 (when the dvd comes out at about very late may) But a bad episode and i will give it 2/10. |

I do agree with recent posters - this was more a setup for part two than an episode in its own right and that's a tad lazy from TPTB and a bit of a swizz really. So definitely bad marks all round there.
But I think viewed as a two hour epic, with both parts together, each episode will balance out nicely, with part one being the 'calm before the storm' kind of thing. So I am looking forward to be able to do that. Albion This post has been edited by Albion: Feb 8th 2004, 9:26 AM |

Because, while the US starts airing SG-1 before the UK, they have such a stupidly long break over Christmas, the UK catches up and then overtakes in the new year. Plus the US networks seem to delight in taking random breaks of anywhere up to a month between airing episodes of shows, which adds to how far behind they fall. |

There are two reasons for the break in new eps. 1. TV production goes on winter hiatus in December through the beginning of January, so there's no new eps to show. 2. The Neilson's determine TV advertisement rates for networks during 'sweeps' which I think are in November and February...or it could be March. The bottom line is, networks are not going to put new eps on the air if they don't think they don't have the maximum number of viewers watching. It affects the amount of money they can charge advertisers during their programming. Just thought of something else about Heroes. I just realized why this sucker is a two parter. I think its an effort to show that there are two sides to the people in the SGC, those being the 'hanging around the SGC' side, and the 'down to business once they step through the gate'...er...side. Also, I've got some suspicions about the footage these guys are getting. If you'll notice, all the info this guy getting on O'Neill is from other people because he won't co-operate, yet whats emerging is actually a very positive profile of him if you think about what each person (Teal'c, Carter, Fraiser) have said about him. Even his confrontation with Kinsey makes him look good, even though he's probably not thinking about it at the time. I just have this feeling about how this footage is going to be edited, and if the viewers (us) are going to see any of it, especially with what happens in part two. |

Well Albion, there seem to be at least two fans out there who didn't know and are truly pissed of getting their episodes spoiled. I don't want any apology or your "regrett", that isn't going to undo any damage, I want you and everyone else who spray this kind of sh_t on the boards to use *SPOILER WARNING*. 'Cause I don't wanna know anything about the episode I see, as andy4u says, I like to be surprised. And to the episode, it was very funny to watch. Anything that puts perspective on the standard ways of thing will give stargate more depth and less cardboard characters. |

I really hate to sumble into the whole MUST HAVE SPOILER WARNING conversation, but it is a two-parter, thus one part blends into the other and if you read about half of the episode, it's bound to be nothing but OBVIOUS that you will see stuff about the 2nd. I'm not looking to get into a fight over this. Those who accidentally found out that . . . have said "Hey, we're pissed that you didn't use warnings!" and the guilty parties have said "Whoops, my mistake" so let's all just get back to discussing the ep here so the Moderators don't go off and turn this into a knock down, drag out 'Owned' or 'Assclown' session. This is one of the most important episodes in Stargate history so lets treat it as such.
Now, maybe it would be a good idea for the the Mods to go in and delete the sections of the posts where there is referance to. . . so that others in the future won't see that . . . is indeed going to happen. |

Firstly, I must add one thing to teryl_brat's post:
I think it is a little immature to reiterate a point that everyone knows, and have been made aware of, especially to the one person of the 5 that had the guts to apologize. Secondly: Call me andy, or andy4an, this is the 3rd time in about 2 weeks that it has been messed up Back on topic: I can't believe Kinsey is running for president. It was so painful to watch him pretend to be supportive of a plan that he will do everything to cancel once he can. Who invited him? Also, are AF officers allowed to voice opinions about politics? mithwriter's new signature is great. They did a very good job introducing the new people in this ep. You already feel like you know many of them. |

I thought the episode was great and if it was out there for fishing on reactions of us watching different SG teams instead of SG1 all the time they did well. May I also say the casting worked very well (a recovery from Jonas..I couldn't stand Jonas). The new SG team just felt right no reaction......who's this why are they not SG1 and I think by now we know and accept there are more than 1 team. The show is really growing Season 6 I was not thrilled with 7 just keeps getting better.
Season 6 = 0,0 - 10,-20 Season 7 = 0,0 - 5,7 - 8,15 Now plot that....Odin will be screwed |
