"Arom...it means 'naked one'" What a way to come back! 1.gif

I loved the whole Daniel getting him memory back thing. Very funny in places but also very powerful. "Why am I here?", "Hey, why are any of us here!", Refering to Jack as 'Jim'. When they returned to earth it looked like O'Neill was presenting Daniel to Hammond like they do on The price is Right. The look on Teal'c's face when he had to reconfirm Sha'ri's death was breathtaking, the raw emotion is really evident and I think they were both great in that scene.

Jonas's hair looked like a ken dolls *Promises not to mention ken dolls anymore*

Carter's hair looked like she'd just been electricuted.

I liked the briefing room scene for the 'plan'. O'Neill was being a real jerk while Carter was trying to explain everything, I think she had every right to get annoyed with him like she did, you could see she was holding back. "As the Colonel is well aware...." but of course he still agrees to make the plan work anyway rolleyes.gif and listing off all the wacky plans lol!

"Nice shot Sir"
"Why thankyou Ma'am" laugh.gif
I liked all the Star Wars references and Anubis' 'death star' looked really cool.

Mag, I agree in regards to Jonas. I have said all along that I liked his character. I didn't quite understand why they couldn't have kept him around as a team member, if only for a little longer. I have stated numerous times that the EP's, writers, whoever is in charge, did a terrible thing to CN. They treated him like dirt, which in my opinion wasn't right at all.

For me Jonas and Daniel were not the same individuals. They both had the knowledge, but Jonas had the edge in how fast he could learn things. Jonas re-teaching Daniel would have been great. Whereas during the first half of season 6 Jonas had the wide-eyed look of innocence, by this time, he didn't. They could have played Daniel this way for awhile and kept Jonas.

I think the main reason why they did not keep Jonas was because he is american. American actors on the show are paid more than other nationalities. Which is why they tend to use nonamericans so much.

I hadn't thought about that, you could be correct. I know that RDA was paid a bit, but then they went to him in order to sell the series.

Your serious, so people from other coutries get paid less just becasue of that? Not because of talent or experience? But whether they are fomr the US or not, hmm didn't know that. Thanks for the info, i really wish they could've kept Jonas on as a 5th member, that would've been great. I actually liked him as Season 6 progress despite my disappointment losing Michael Shanks.

I had no idea that the actors from Canada are not paid as much. Em mentioned that one. It makes sense though because I doubt Canada has the Union that the actors in the US have. The union in the US also makes sure that the actors get residual payments for re-runs and syndication, for the VHS, and the DVDs. That is something that is usually covered in the contract.

For instance, when MS left and then returned, I'm sure he contracted that his name would be at the end, "and Michael Shanks as Daniel Jackson." RDA was above the name of the series, but he was one of the EPs, and they wanted a name actor to sell the show.

They mention the fact that nonamericans are payed less on the commentaries all the time. They did again with some of the S8 DVDs. One with PDL doing it. That is why there are so many Brits and Aussies and Canadians on the show. Dispite it being made in Canada.

So many Brits and Aussies? When have there been Britains and Australians on the show? The only Brits I recall are the Ambassador from 'Disclosure' and Groden from Atlantis. I dont remember any Australians on the show.

Daf are you serious? Most of the extras are Canadian. However, many of the guest stars are not American because American cost more to hire for the episodes. PDL said so on the commentaries.

Many of the semi regualars are foreigners. Look at most of the goa'ulds. Ba'al, Osiris etc. They are not Americans. They all have accents.

I am not saying there are a lot of American I am saying that there are alot of nonamericans.

Hell even Gary Jones is from the Uk, so is Sarah Douglas (Garshon of Belote), Nylan from "New Ground" played by Richard Ian Cox is from Wales, UK.

Seriously Daf a lot of your country men and women are in Stargate.

I love how they pretty much just copied off of star wars in this episode. In fact I think they mentioned this in the audio commentary on the dvd. Near the end of the show when Anubus was targeting the stargate, Hammond said "evacuate base camp." Where exactly were they evacuating too? I'm guessing they were going to go through the gate before Anubus fired the weapon. Because where else were they going to go, since Jonas said that the Naquada would have amplified the blast...which I would think would mean that the explosion would be the size of a nuclear bomb....and that would mean they wouldn't be able to out run the blast so they would have no chioce but to go through the gate.

I would have said they were returning to Earth. Since the F-302 had launched, they had no real reason to stay on the planet. They would only have needed to return to disassemble the F-302 and bring it back through the Stargate.

I got to see this episode. I was waiting for Daniel's return so much, but I was so surprised to see him without his memories. I think I was hoping too much for him to remember what he did as an ascended being. I probably expect him to remember things about it later, when the writers need something. Since it is a two-parter, I couldn't help myself seeing it all, so I will continue this in the other thread.
