You know....I think RDA made it star warsy for a laugh , just so he could snoop around SGforumns and laugh his ass off. I thought it was pretty coll. Could have been better, but the Red leader remark....classicRDA.

I don't know... It was too serious for a "planned joke"... If it was a planted joke i'd expect some refernece t othat in the show.. instead, they were dead serious.

Ok well just downloaded the episode and watched it.
I thought it was a good episode, seemed different from other episodes ive seen, but in a good way. Im sick of reading all this star wars similarity crap. Who the hell cares that it resembles star wars in some way, it made for a good scene and good plot to the show. Get over it. As for the episode, i thought it was good generally, got some good battles in, whilst getting some good emotional moments in. Cant wait for the rest of S7 The only bit that initially confused me, was the part where they planted a fake tablet to lure Anubis to the planet. We havent really seen this done before, which was what surprised me, and was a bit confusing to see. Anyway, a new concept to the SG1 storyline, very cool This post has been edited by MrBooleano: Jun 17th 2003, 6:15 PM |

Chi-town, yea that's true, but there have been some award ceremonies before like when Carter was promoted to Major. Saving the world is just all in a days work for these people. He can save up his major appreciation for when the world is inches away from destruction again...like the Blackhole episode (one of my favorites)
I have to work this friday won't be able to watch the new episode...damn |

I agree, these episodes owned, but i would have like to see more dogfighting. oh well it was sweet non the less.
And at the End of season one/ Beginning of season two they at least had everyone in the gate room claping for them. I'd be pissed if was Sg-1, I think they at least deserve a standing ovation for saving the world/galaxy. Also i wonder if Jack and Sam have recieved the Medel of Honor yet, i mean they've saved the world/galaxy 9 times (to my count), or do you have to be dead to get that. Oh nevermind they've all died several times already |

I wonder if we will hear from Yu again? Or his First Prime for that matter? The senior System Lords should be getting nervous about him. He is proving that even with changing hosts and their magic boxes, they are not immortal. After thousands of years of "I am your god", a Gou'ald dieing of what is the equivelant of old age should rock them to the core.

Who says the quality of downloaded episodes is bad? It depends where you get it from and how it's encoded. If you have a fast enough connection it's quite feasible to download a copy that can be played back just as clear (full screen) as on your TV. Ther e is plenty of information on the site and elsewhere about downloading things like this - so I won't go into any more detail. |

Regardless of how many times folks can say it - I will say it also....I thought the likeness to star wars was a bit lame. In all the years I have been watching and StarGate....and now own a lot of the DVD sets - I have come to expect a bit more creativeness when it comes to the story/plot lines.
Yes...there have been some things that you just see coming a mile away (like the Tritonin would help Jaffa not need a baby snake)....but what can ya say. From a gracious "nod" to the SW series...I thought it was a great connection. Just like the "nod" to Armagedon (in Fail Safe), dissing the movie "Signs" in the gym scence of Orpheous, and other references as such....I think that's neat. But....a little dissappointed. The fight/flight scences were neat though!! |

I have not seen this episode yet, and probably won't for quite some time. I do have a question though, do they actually broadcast Michael Shanks nude?
and if they do, are there any parts showing? I hope that Stargate doesn't resort to putting nudity in their episodes because it doesn't belong in a show like that, and in the long term it will do more damage for the show than good because they're going to alienate all of their family viewers. |

Yeah he appears to be totally naked, but nothing revealing. That would just be wrong. They have already been down the nudity road in the very first episode, the pilot... and they have probably realised by now that it's not needed to acquire viewers/ |

I felt sorry for Teal'c when Daniel came bouncing in to tell him that he remembered Sharre's name. Teal'c looked like he was in agony. I think he was expecting any second for Daniel to ask how she died.
