QUOTE(Christy @ Jan 5th 2005, 2:59 PM) he's czech...cant blame ya for thinking he's either russian, i would have thought german...no idea why though.... i thought that the bit where mckay says goodnight to his team and they're all going she likes you and he's like..what? was so funny. ...It's just that my other Stargate-obssessed flatmate is Russian originally (Ukranian actually) and he said it was Russian and that he said "you can't work like this!" or something of that spirit... Russian and Czech should be quite similar, though, maybe that's why he though it was Russian?... |

I cant believe they gave up a ZPM just like that. They should try and swap it for one of the flat ZPM's or sneak back to the planet and steal it 'covertly' before they find a new hiding place for it

Back to the computer thing, having worked this past summer with the Air Force Research Lab, I can tell you that they mostly use DELL computers, we had some nice dual Xeon workstations in the lab, but anyway, DELL is what the AFRL mostly used. Out of convience or whatever, the Air Force uses Dell laptops.

This episode was kinda interesting, you get kinda confused between "It's Good To Be King" and "The Brotherhood", when you download them one after another and watch one after another.
The Genii are getting tiresome, they are so freakin' annoying and stupid. They can't eliminate the Wraith themselves so they stop others like the (let's call them) Atlantis Team 1 from doing so. The girl the new master hand-keep or whatever she's called, she is such a b*tch, believing the Ancients will return, and stupid McKay was telling her that they live there but are not the descendants of the Ancients, idiot! Like all Ancient Tech, how come when they put it on the screen, it's always so unclear. |

QUOTE(Arcady @ Jan 4th 2005, 8:04 AM) The only bad part was that the Genii angle was easy to pick up. "How long have you lived on Atlantis? I see..." Big giveaway - they are underestimating the intelligence of the viewers with that kind of stuff. I was irritated why he didn't add a line such as "...and when they left ten thousand years ago, the Ancients prepared the City to be repopulated from earth again, what we did. They lived out the remainder of their lives on our world, died off and some of us may very well be their descendants. We do even have the Ancient gene." So much for arguing a legitimate claim! I guess when they are finally under siege, that woman who has a thing for McKay will be persuaded to release the ZPM. Otherwise this episode wouldn't have a real purpose for the plot. Edit: A note to Sheppard's idea that the numbers in each line must add up to 15. I'm no expert at this, and I didn't try it out, but even if there is only one possible combination with Five in the center: You can still rotate the WHOLE thing in four different positions, so Sheppard hit the lucky 25%. i don't think so...as we only heard about them receving one ZPM.
and i think that if there had been more ZPMs then they would have known about it. but what im wondering is why did an ancient give them a ZPM in the first place? |

This episode amuses me. Not only that there are alot of suspense, they find out that 3 Wraith Hive ships are heading their way. This just gives more suspense..
I think the Ancient gave them a ZPM because (best guess) they knew one day their civilisation would fall, so they want to make sure that they(whoever finds Atlantis) would be able to find more of the power source it uses. Or it could just be since the people on Dagan worship them they gave them that.. |

Do those Genii ever give up. With that loss of over 60 you think they would have gave up. Afterall, this is all McKay's fault why they lost the ZPM. Good luck beating the wraith now....

I don't get why the Ancients didn't leave the ZPM's in Atantis. Would that be so dangerous?

QUOTE(lpt100 @ Jan 9th 2005, 10:32 PM) Just from the expression on Kolya's face when Mckay said it was his fault and not theirs when their guy died, it seemed like Kolya was starting to understand that he didn't know enough to be messing with their technology. |

i hope that we get to see Kolya in an upcoming episode, i am really starting to enjoy him.
KOLYA...i love the name...hehe. Does anyone else get the feeling that they may actually become friends in the future? there is already history between him and Mckay...they just loved being back together with each other. I wonder if we'll ever get to see Soren again? |

Man they could have used that ZPM!
Hope the wraith have crappy aim! LOL A very good EP. It reminded me of the good old SG-1 days where they would go to a planet and explore and solve puzzles. Hope there are more like this to come! |

Koki...I think you need to watch Atlantis more closely.
they have Naqueda generators. They are mentioned in the first episodes as well as Letters From Pegasus. |

QUOTE(KoKi @ Jan 31st 2005, 8:39 PM) Good eps......... but will they ever find a ZPM why not get some more N-genarators from stargate command Do you bother watching Atlantis? They cant return to Earth. Atlantis doesnt have enough power to open a wormhole back to Earth and the SGC doesnt have enough power to open a wormhole to Atlantis. All this was explained in the first episode. Anyway, back on topic. Im not too sure about this ep. It semed ok, but didnt add anything to the Atlantis story. The Genii are annoying as an enemy, i hope they are dropped out of season 2. They gave up the ZPM too easily. All they had to do was bring back more soldiers from Atlantis. McKay is a great character, Sheppard seems to be taking a back seat in episodes lately and i like the fact Teyla is being included more. She's a bit of a kick ass babe. |

All in all, not a bad episode!
I am getting thoroughly annoyed with the Genii - they keep popping up, causing minor glitches, then getting defeated...I just...don't like...them... and GRR This post has been edited by Parmenides: Feb 1st 2005, 5:57 PM |

Not a bad episode. I don't mind the Genii as an enemy. There more of hinderence than an actual threat, but it is amusing to watch Shepard constantly get the better of them.
Some things were a little to predictable. As soon as Mckay said they weren't from Atlantis, I knew they were going to be betrayed and not get the ZPM. And as soon as they detected the single Wraith dart, it was obvious, it was just going to gather intel, relay it, and then get destroyed. |

If only Mckay hadn't opened his big mouth LOL, and those pesky Genii keep popping up causing problems.
Was funny seeing Beckett fly one of the jumpers! |
