excelent episode, it was a very nice turn around, especially after last weeks episode
this episode proves that the wraith are not evil by nature, but simply from our point of view they are (obviously, because they eat humans). they obviously care about loyalty, and stick to their word i thought shepard was gonna offer the wraith to turn him into a human though, im supprised they didnt[s] |

I liked this episode. I thought it was great. I knew that the wraith would give sheppard his life back. As soon as that happened i was like "damn i watch to much sci fi" haha....it was so predictable to me. But i really liked it though. It showed some things about the wraith and and perhaps it could lead to some kind of friendship in the far future or something.

When I saw the wraith feeding on Sheppard and he turned old and grey I was like NO WAY!! There's got to be something that'll make him young again I liked how Weir did things HER way and kept a clear mind while Sheppard was being tortured in front of them. However she took a big risk with Landen (hope I got his name right)..... I would have at least send Ronan back with him, just to make sure. Loved how they made the wraith again look like the bad guys with a noble cause... if you're starving you have to eat... I'm pretty sure this one never cared about his victims ever suffering before but all those years alone in jail with no food made him see things in a different way. It's interesting how close they are to humans in some ways Ronin would of done something stupid if he went with Landen alone.. You know him. |

It's interesting how close they are to humans in some ways I think because this wraith was tortured to total weakness...we were able to see the human-side come out. This was a unique opprotunity for the Atlantis expedition. Usually the Wraith are strong and feed without much thought. It's interesting to see that when they are weak from not feeding, that they are capable of honor and understanding and compassion (to a degree). I knew I liked the Wraith. I always tend to sympathize with the guys who have to do something bad to live. They can't help it. |

In episode The Defiant One, that Wraith was stuck on that planet for 10,000 years without any viable sources of food. He didn't show any sympathy or compassion for Sheppard and his team. This Wraith was just of a different personality. He knew that he was too weak to be able to escape alone, and he also knew that he can always give back the life he takes. He also felt the strength Sheppard had (he mentioned that once), that is probably why he cared more about his pray than usual. But now that they both escaped, going separate ways, "all bets are off". |

Well I seem to be the only one, but Ronan was getting on my nerves after Ladin came through the gate. I was expecting Weir to tell him to shut up or leave, but instead she keeps putting up with his comments until she finally goes to her office with Ladin.

Well, this is not the first time Ronon does this. I though he only hated the Wraith (he always showed his hatered towards Michael), and he is very unstable when it comes to having a hostage, or trying to negociate a problem. Strong personality isn't always a good thing. |

This episode really made me think and anticipate what the wraith was going to do. It was kind of predictable in certain parts though. Like, I knew that the voice in the cell was a wraith before we even saw him. And I knew that Weir wouldn't give up Ladon to Kolya. But we did learn something about the wraith. It's not that they care about their victims, but that they kill more because they have to, though I'm sure they like it when they're not so weak, as this wraith was. I wonder if we'll see him again in the future. Man Shepherd looked kinda freaky being all old and gray. It was weird because his face and front of his neck looked wrinkly and saggy, but the side of his neck looked as young as ever. I saw this when he and the wraith were escaping and he turned his head.

Whats with the Anti-Rononess. If someone you really liked was taken and tortured because of the mistake someone else made you would all be acting as serious as Ronon. Its only because Elizabeth Weir is one of those non-agressive people that she can handle situations really well. She wasnt chosen to run the SGC on her looks.

Just the voice of the guy in the other cell is what gave the wraith away. I knew it was either a wraith or Cyvus Vail (from the show 'angel') And When the wraith said 'there is much about the wraith you do not know' i was hoping for something groundbreaking about the wraith's past or something. Then when he raised his hand above shepard and said it again I instantly knew he was going to restore his health. Which was awesome of course, (i liked the look on rodney's face when he found out) And I like the whole idea that the wraith and humans are seeming a bit more similar. But overall this was a pretty good epsiode. |

got a query.. i though that the receiving end of the gate is able to see the address of the sender or is it just my bad memory. i thought that when you dial a gate the receiving gate will light up symbols according to the address of the sender. also shouldn;t it be easier to find out where shepard is, i mean they got the last 50 addresses that was dialed i would assume in chronological order. all htey had to do was to backtrack... I agree. Wasn't there an Atlantis Episode where they were able to see who dialed in? Or an SG-1 episode? Or maybe it was just the fact that they had to be on the world to see where the gate dialed...can anyone clear this one up? Stargates do not have Caller ID... You cannot see where you are being dialed from, just that you are being dialed. |

I really enjoyed this episode, I thought it was far superior to the SG-1 equivalent this week.
I didn't totally see the wraith giving Shepard his life back coming, but I had figured out after the first feeding that it was the wraith in the cell next door. I did know that the wraith was going to give Shepard his life back when he fed on two people - taking more than he needed, giving the excess to Shepard, thus restoring him. This episode was very much character development orientated, whereas SG-1's was mostly visual with some character development from Vala and Adria. Having seen this episode my mind is far more at ease about the cancellation of SG-1, if Atlantis can continue producing episodes like this, I'm far less concerned about having to rely on it for my weekly fix of escapism. Damn, I wanted to make the "no caller ID" line.
Regarding Ronin mouthing off, if Weir didn't want him to do it she would have had him leave. She was letting him be the bad cop. Regarding handing over Laden, not negotiating with terrorists isn't just a US rule, it's a reasonable one. You can't do it, otherwise people know it works and keep trying it on you. And there's really no point in handing over Laden at the point where they let him go. If they were going to trade him or torture him they might as well have done it before three wraith feedings on sheppard. As for the life being given back, I'm embarrassed to see I didn't see it coming. I thought maybe he'd be old for a while, and then the Asurans or someone else would fix him up. Thought maybe we'd get a few scenes of everyone looking horrified, then he's fixed. So all in all, a great ep. The only stinker this year has been the Lucius ep. Though I will say that it was a bit of a plot hole to not have the atlantis crew dial in to prevent Kolya's escape. They've known about that trick for at least ten years, come on people!! Great episode. I wasn't expecting too much from this episode, but it turned out to be a lot better than I anticipated. I really enjoyed the interaction between Sheppard and the Wraith prisoner. When Sheppard started getting old, I never expected that it would be a Wraith that would restore him.

Stargates do not have Caller ID... You cannot see where you are being dialed from, just that you are being dialed. True, but to qualify that, away teams are given IDCs to identify themselves when dialing in, (though that code doesn't light up on the gate), and anyone else using the gate would be unknown. Maybe that's what they meant? |

Excellent episode! I really liked the wraith/Sheppard interraction! I'm sure many people on this forum will have something to say, because they felt the wraith are people too, so to speak! We had a chance to see the wraith as individuals, with real feelings and emotions, not just as life draining vampires! I was totally blown away when the wraith gave Sheppard back his life force, didn't see that coming!

I liked this ep too. When the wraith said that there's much we don't know about wraith I knew he was gonna igve life back to John.
But how would you call that process? If taking energy from somebody is "feeding", what would be giving energy back? "Throwing up"? ... I too loved McKay's briefing and mouse incident. It just bothered me when everybody else run there and gathered around McKay - very unproffesional, like schoolgirls, not Airforce soldiers... This giving life back thing somewhat is also a bit dissapointment for me. I think of it as a form of cheating - as time travel is - to patch things when they go too far... None the less - three thumbs up for this episode... |

Ryu, trailers/previews are NOT spoilers. Auntie, what is going on with you lately. Most of your postings are very anti-social. Almost as if somebody else is using your account. No it is me. I am getting sick and tired of dumbasses and am saying as much! Feel free to call me a dumbass if I do something worthy of the title! ~~~~~~ It is a spoiler. Of course trailers are spoilers. Anything that contains images, dialogues and previews from a show or a movie you would like to see is a spoiler, trailers included.
But Auntie, there is a form of spoilers you do... Spoiler Pics... |
