Funny episode, although I missed coombs. For a second there I though felger was getting more action than I am. I would have had to hang my head in misery. And WHAT was that beautiful gun that Carter was firing!?! What did they stop using the p90?

This was horrible.

First off, surley the system would be immune to this sort of thing.

Second, what happend to using a seperate power source to dial the gate manually?

I loved this ep! I tell ya, Fegler has the mindset of a teenager; always trying to get it on with someone. I thought the scene in his house was priceless, putting his pants on backwards and choking on his Mountain Dew. Also when he was feeding the phantom ducks...ROTFLMAO! It was so stupid, you had to laugh.

Only a few disappointments. Daniel was MIA basically throughout the ep except when he made contact with the SGC. Teal'c was on screen for about 37 sec. and Jack only had a bit more air time than Teal'c. I hope the next ep has the whole team together.

Oh and they couldn't dial out manuelly cause the virus was supposed to scramble the gate addresses. Say you dialed earth from the alpha site. Even if you put in the correct symbols, the virus totally screws it up. I think that's how the virus works...someone correct me if I'm off.

If you dial manually on the gate itself, it does not matter what the DHD has in it. Think about it. Earth basically dials manually all the time, just with a computer.

This wasn't bad. Alot of sutile jokes and as Ares said, humor so stupid that it's funny. The scene between Carter and the assistant was very nice, even if it was a dream sequence. laugh.gif

I really enjoyed this episode. It was entertaining and had just enough action to satisfy my appetite(for now) I was, however, disapointed that Daniel was hardly in it at all. I hope to see more of him next week. smile.gif

I was sitting there thinking this too b/c this thought came to mind:

If the Ancients were so advanced and it took them a thousand years to master this mode of transport, how the hell could this dipsh** screw it up in one day?!?!

Then they started to talk about Baal and how he may have altered the proggie and I said "WOW, how does Baal know so much about computer viruses?"

Oh well, at least we got to see a cat fight!!!! (When I saw Sam rip off her shirt I almost ......her shirt shook and her..... WOW!)

I liked that episode a lot. The humor was great. Still not as funny as "Window of Opportunity", but funniest one in a while.

Why so little Daniel, and Teal'c?

I understand why so little Jack. RDA has an obligation to his family, and I respect him for that.

I miss seeing SG-1 as a team. I hope that they are just trying to highlight some of the characters indivudually, and will add more team-oriented eps soon.

Danny boy had that Unas ep entirely to himself and Carter has had the last two. I'm pretty sure this next upcoming ep will feature the whole team and Teal'c will probably be the main focus. Why you say; cause CJ wrote it.

But yeah, I totally agree with you. More SG-1 as a team.

This episode made no sense whatsoever. I mean.. sure we have computers that can dial the gate, but that's basically because as someone else said to do the work of moving the ring for us.

Also, on the board in one of the scenes, the virus was apparently written in C or C++. I -highly- doubt that something as sophisticated as the DHD is running something written in C. I don't understand how our meager programs could affect something like this.

That was the weakest Season 7 ep so far in my opinion.
The ending dream sequence, just like in the other guys doesn't seem to sit well in a Stargate ep.

And i agree that the concept doesn't make much sense.
If the DHD won't work, surely Dialing manually will.
That brings up another thing... They've dialled out manually b4, but if the info such as compensating for stellar drift is stored in the DHD how were they able to get a lock? Ernests planet was close enough to dial without compensation, but what about the other times, such as dialing from Thor's ship in Nemesis.

I liked this episode for the sole reason that it will extend the life of my vcr tape by one week since I will have no regrets taping over "Avenger 2.0" and putting something better over the top of it.

This ep and "Space Race" seemed to be suffering from the same type of story problems...telling what's going on instead of showing us. The latter had this problem during the race with those damn announcers coming on WAY too often to explain what was going on instead of showing it...

This ep had the same problem for me but this time it was much worse. First of all, the ep is about creating this computer virus right? So wouldn't you think there would be a scene of Carter and Felger loading the virus into the gate and wanting to see what happens?

Also, I felt really cheated (and this relates also to a thread Luna has going elsewhere) about telling us what's going on with Jack, Teal'c and Daniel instead of showing us. By simply using a video feed of their predicament, I got very little sense of the jeapardy these characters were in. Would it really have killed the show's budget to SHOW us the Jaffa starting to argue when the gate went down, Jack and Teal'c reactions, then all hell breaking loose? Or maybe cut to a scene or two of Teal'c and Jack sitting doing nothing, then maybe Jack suggesting a game of "rock, paper scissors" or something equally "O'Neillish?" I mean, according to O'Neill they DID "get tired of waiting" didn't they?

And what about Daniel? I mean the guy was getting close to having to evacuate to higher ground with the city's survivors. Take out one (or two, or three) of Felger's scenes and show that instead. I didn't think Felger was funny. I thought he was pathetic, and I really hope they don't bring him back anymore. It's a personal taste thing, I suppose, but I cringe when shows trot out the "lovable loser -types" of characters.

It's not about the languae (C, C++) but about the compiler they use. If they know how DHD runs it's programs (are they executables or does it use some kind of scripting languae or something else), then they can write a proper compiler or translator ie. C&C++ to DHD Scripting Languae. It's much easier to use a languae that you know rather than some alien script or binary code(do they even have binary based computers, i doubt that).

Intersting discourse on this ep. Either you loved it or you hated it. I, personally, enjoyed it. I thought the actor who played Felger was brilliant. He carried the role off effortlessly. I did miss the team, but I figure they'll bring 'em back next week for more play.

Just one question/thought that I would like your input on. We all know Felger is a classic geek, right? In the season 6 ep he was in he showed up and said, in classic Star Wars fashion, "We're here to rescue you." I was wondering if anyone else thought that the kiss between him and his lab assistant (forget her name) where he says, "What was that for?" and she said, "Goodluck!" - well I was wondering if anyone else thought that was another Star Wars nod.

Whaddaya think?

LMAO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! smile.gif biggrin.gif laugh.gif

Hilarious ending. Felger was so pathetic he made me laugh constantly during the ep and to tell you the truth an episode with no Daniel for 99.9% of the time isn't gonna kill you guys so stop your whining and complaining!(Sheesh!) tongue.gif

I don't think I'll ever forget O'Neill and Felger watching the 2 ladies "getting it on" in that "bitch fight" for a while yet... Even if it was a dream, it was hella funny and I enjoyed it immensely. Good entertainment. I won't be deleting it or "taping over it" (as some pessimistic-moaner mentioned earlier on) for a while yet... cool.gif

Hmm possible Trynity7 - . I was wondering when the kiss scene was comin, it was so obvious she liked Jay. She's a cutie, I hope to see her again in another episode. cool.gif

Her name was Chloe by the way. I watched th ep twice it was sooo funny laugh.gif

Bonzai, they stole it from the Jaffa who landed on the planet where the rebel meeting was, Jack meantioned that when Hammond contacted him.
