I understand why Anubis took out the battle group and communications, but why did he stop there. He had 30 motherships plus 100's of gliders and alkesh's. He could have fired on numerous cities and bases from orbit and Anubis had already determined we had no Ancients weapons. It justs seems stupid that Anubis would rush to Earth with his fleet, determine we haven't got Ancients weapons and then do nothing. |

wow
not enough words...too much homework... anywho, I counted around 25 deathgliders, and only 5 alkesh, rather puny when you consider the number of motherships. I also counted about 20 302's. During the battle, the Prometheus had already taken some damage, and yet it was almost to the mothership when the shields were just about gone. Also, it amazed me that we only had the one 303, I was expecting 2 at the very least. Another thought: who was holding the super soldier eradication rod (credit for name to odin)? I was watching closely after I saw one get hit, and I am pretty sure it wasn't Teal'c or Sam, and they didn't show Daniel much. The best part about this ep was the amount of material crammed into it, something exciting was always happening. I have gone through every episode, and I didn't find one that I liked better, it was quite a finale. |

They were all shooting them. You can see Carter and Teal'c activating theirs (Carter sweeps her thumb across something on the side of her gun, a red light comes on, and it makes a sound that reminds me vaguely of an intar powering up from Proving Ground) then Teal'c does the same thing with his big machine gun, then you can see that Teal'c is firing off both bullets and the super-soldier killer rounds at the same time, so apparently they've got the anti-super soldier weapons attached to the side of their standard firearms. I just watched it in slow-motion, and you can clearly see the blue energy bolt come from the left (right on the TV screen) side of Teal'c's rifle while he's firing bullets, so that pretty much confirms it- the SGC has made some sort of attachment that presumably attaches in much the same way as the combat flashlights and laser sights. Also, for some reason Carter's anti-supersoldier weapon fires not from out of the red light like Teal'c's does, but out of her weapon's flashlight (which was acting as a flashlight mere moments earlier). Strange. |

Chalk it up to Goa'uld arrogance. Remember in the season five episode "Between Two Fires", one of Anubis' ships showed up in orbit around Tollana. The Tollans fired an ion cannon blast at the ship and nothing happened. Instead of seizing the moment and take over the planet, the ship left orbit and re-entered hyperspace. Goa'ulds are rather over the top and too clich?' when it comes to dealing with their enemies. They seem to prefer being methodical and believing in the slow, painful death instead of trying to get the job done quick. You see it in their torture tactics and their approach to invasion. After seven years of being kicked in the butt constantly by SG-1, a four member team, you would figure they would handle earth in a more efficient manner. Then again it's a show in which the good guys win. |

Brilliant starting with the crossword bit and the fact that he named Uma Thurman!! Very funny. Also good that he started speaking Ancient quite early on cos it got quite funny with a fronache and being cruvas! I was a bit disappointed at the beginning of the break because we didn?t get to see the ships exiting hyperspace coming to Earth.
When I saw Ronan for the first time I thought he looked like a betrayer and then my theory was confirmed when he stabbed Brat?ac. I thought he was going to die but he still kicked his ass! And then thank god O?Neill cured him!! I don?t want to see Brat?ac leave the series!! THE ABSOLUTE IMMENSENESS OF THE ANTARCTIC BATTLE cannot be desciribed in words. It was without doubt the best battle scene EVER in the history of Stargate!! Gliders, Alkesh, F302?s and Prometheus kicking each others ASS!!! C?mon it was completely MENTAL!!! Its as if Robert Cooper, Bard Wright and every other writer aswell as the visual FX department gave us all what we asked for!! Also the hyperspeed of the cargo ship was pretty good!! Nice to see it going at such a fast speed! And then the ending! WHOA!!! Prometheus going for a head on collision with Anubis? fleet!! And then Jack completely obliterates it with a beam of weapons!! Prometheus survives too and Anubis is gone (for now!!) !!! Bit of a sad ending but I know from spoilers that its not the end!......... Infinity/10 for me because that episode was too good to be measured!!! Till September (or June/July) for America!! |

I just got done watching this episode and it completely kicked ass. I loved it and I personally think its one of the best, if not the best episode. The war scenes were freakin awesome but there were a few minor things I kinda wish were different.
I agree with everyone who said the Presidents reaction wasn't like it would be in real life. If an enemy we had never seen before that was threatening to destroy earth had projected themselves into a room like that I would have crapped myself. It was still funny though. I was also under the assumption they were going to find the lost city. You don't know how badly I wanted to see that! But I guess that?s what the first episode of season 8 is for, along with the Atlantis spin off. Since there is a season 8, it makes me question whether or not Anubis is really dead. (they need something to do for an entire season) Since he can "ascend" wouldn't he just take that form after he dies just like everyone else has that has ascended before? Also I liked the weapon they used, but I expected to see some huge ancient version of the ion cannon blast Anubis. One last thing... is it just me or was anyone else wanting a huge war where the Asgard, possibly the Furlings (if they ever decide to freaking show them), and maybe a surprise appearance by the Ancients, help us to dominate the goa'uld and save our planet? I think that would be awesome but maybe I just want too much |

.am.speechless.
.am.teary. .am.going.to.die. .can't.wait.for.season.8. I know that Jack is going to live, but OMG, the last scence. <gasp> had me all in tears. "JACK" <--HEEH! my heart stopped. him saying goodbye and her looking at him for the "last" time <--WHOAH. my heart DROPPED <and still not beating by the way>. I liked the episode! From the little bits of humor in the beginning, the intense middle, and the heartbreaking ending. It was good from beginning to end. ...where's the lost city of Atlantis? ahem. 'stay tuned for the NEW show, Stargate:Atlantis'. So my ratings are Two thumbs up. ****1/2 9/10 (just because I missed Frasier, and more of Jack's witty remarks) |

Very great Ep! I loved the weapon of the ancients, as someone has said before: "it has style" because it is not this big "hunkin" gun, but sth much more ancient-like.
I am really thinking about the fact that there could be more outposts like that, and maybe we will find some living ancients, who are frozen there like Jack is now. And i hope that this was the end for Anubis, i want to have a new enemy Maybe it would not have been to bad to see some people die... i really expectet Hammond to leave us in this ep. This would have been a great end for a awesome character, and now he just may sit in some office and talk shit. This does not fit in Hammonds role, but oh well.... stilll 10/10 points , because i am also happy that he did not die |

O.M.G Best episode ever. It had action, great special effects, moving moments between all characters, humour, suspense.
there were too many moments to even comment on, but one was I thought Bra'atac would die, but then came Jack all ancient and did that special healing thing. Then there was the kinsey being threatened whle he was on the phone to Dr Weir. "Shut the HELL UP!" "Sorrry sir" "No not you Dr Weir, I'm talking to kinsey" "Mr president..." "Kinsey your fired, I've got enough on you so that i could get you shot!" "Mr president...no" "I'll go back to my first point, SHUT THE HELL UP!" Best damn scene until The president humoured Anubis, then when the hologramleft he said "Do you think that was to much?" Brilliant! When Jack was sitting in the chair thingy before te yellow energy thing was activated I tought the SS' were going to shoot Jack while he was in the chair, they were just standing there shooting Sam, and Teal'c (Where was Daniel, did he stay on board the cargoship with Braa'tac?) but did that huge scene with the energy beam heading straight through all of the battle to Anubis' ship, did that look like Independence Day (the film) but the situation was reversed? Oh sorry, i give this ***** a 5 star rating. This post has been edited by eliminator: Mar 10th 2004, 3:14 AM |

You are forgetting that the Goa'uld are people who pretend to be false gods, and ultimately he wants to enslave the people of earth. 7 billion peopel is alot of people to mine naquadah and plus Goa'uld likes to be praised as gods. Even tho he is half Ascended he is still Goa'uld. - One thing I forgot to mention, Joel Goldsmith did a great job on the music on this. Alot of variations that brought tears and suspense. |

Wow. See all the wait and suspense and they give us a wicked episode. I think the last episode should of been 2 hours alone.
Anyway about the ancient weapon. I think it was cool. I think we was all thinking and waiting for other kind of weapons like guns and space canons but this was cool and I did like them the way they were controlable, the way they went around the prometheus and then staight into Anubus's ship. way cool. Anyway, does anyone have any clues to what they were? Cliff |

Now THAT was a kickass episode!
Loved it. Loved it, loved it, loved it. Loads of wonderful humour, some terrific moments of character relationship (CJ was, I thought, perfect as the stoic Jaffa desperate to help his friend, but utterly helpless as to how to go about doing it - that scene between him and Jack on the ship had me choked up) - heck I even loved the space battles. <G> That shot of the ships coming over the ice was breathcatching. There were too many moments to quote or mention really - and that has to spell an episode I'll watch time and again and enjoy over and over. Sam: That's an order. Jack: Easy... Talking of which - the Hammond giving command question. That struck me at the time too. But then I just assumed Carter meant right back at the start - just after they returned through the gate. Hammond was still in command of the SGC for quite a bit after Jack was...infected...with the Ancients knowledge and they already knew how it would pan out and how he would be affected. So it's not surprising Hammond would have given Carter those instructions early on. Perhaps in the briefing room meeting, after Jack had left to watch his favourite TV show. That would seem the obvious time for it. Kinsey - well, what can you say? <G> Loved the shut the hell up scene. The teaser with the crossword, the commisery scene...all of the great moments between the team and Jack. Hey, is it just me or did anyone else think that what Jack said at the end was a little too long to just mean 'goodbye'? Maybe Daniel was using shorthand and we'll be told later that Jack said something else there too. There were a couple of things I could complain about - if I was being churlish. There was a touch of same old, same old about it. Been there... Space fleet attacking Earth, Jack running around doing things and not knowing why, Kinsey blustering his way out the door, Teal'c and Bra'tac get betrayed by one of their own.... how many times is that now? (Knew the Ronan was a bad guy right from the getgo - shifty eyes) And I did think the last ten minutes were a little rushed and thus a bit of an anti-climax. Defeating Anubis was just too easy after all that buildup. But for all that this was an episode that's already a favourite - and how I'm going to survive till S8 I have no idea. <whimper> Albion This post has been edited by Albion: Mar 10th 2004, 9:00 AM |

HOLY MACARONI!
Finished watching the episode about an hour ago. Downloaded both the 418mb VCD version and the 350mb XviD version, hehe. I have this to say... *Ahem*... Best... Episode... Ever. However I have a few small complaints about the episode, I think they should have shown a wider shot of all 30 Motherships. Especially when they were being blown to hell by that kick ass weapon! I also think the episode wasn't long enough. It seemed that there was too much squashed into such a small amount of time. It should have been a special length episode or something But they are all trivial complains, and they are all forgot when you realise how AWESOME this episode is! I give it 11 out of 10. I LOVED Kinsey's reaction when Anubis appeared in the Oval Office. And again when he almost lost it after they closed the Iris. Reminds me of Politics in Season 1 and how much I love Kinsey's character, in a hateful way of course... I've always liked the whole mythological aspect of the show, so the line "Terra Atlantis" especially peaked my interest, sounds so awesome too! I can't express in words how much this episode rocked! I'll be watching Part 1 and 2 many many MANY times over the coming weeks This post has been edited by GuNdj: Mar 10th 2004, 4:17 AM |

Fantastic 10/10
Loved it all. Daniel was on the surface because i'm pretty sure i saw him using the super soldier eradication rod on the side of his gun. The ship battle was fantastic, best one yet. Roll S8 |

That ep was so perfect for the invasion and everything. I thought it was cool how Jack was gathering the bits and pieces to take with them on the cargo ship. He did similar things when building the device to lock the 8th chevron. General Hammond was so cool almost crashing into Anubis and the huge fire fight between 302?s and death gliders was well done. I thought the part was funny where Anubis appeared in the Presidents office and the President was basically just taking the piss asking for him to surrender and all
It was a bit annoying how SG1 and Bra?tac had to travel to that world just to find out the location of the Lost City was on Earth, or I guess it wasn?t as we later found out, it was just an outpost. But nm it still got the job done and kicked Anubis?s ass, those things that destroyed his fleet looked like golden Jellyfish LOL. I thought the part where Teal?c was trying to talk to O?Neill was quite moving as O?Neill couldn?t talk back so he just put his hand on Teal?c?s shoulder and looked him in the eye and T got the message. I?m not sure how the storyline for season 8 that was recently posted in the spoilers section will work because Jacks frozen in that device??? 10/10 This post has been edited by Jon The UK SG-1 Fan: Mar 10th 2004, 6:33 AM |

*Crys on her knees on the floor with 100's of empty kleenex boxes*
......And we have to wait for season eight to come here all the way in September! *starts crying again* That had to be, and i am not under estimating, the best season finale and out right episode that SG-1 could of possibly pulled out of their hat. To start off with. I was a little miffed, a usual thing with me, that they didn't do the " in previous episodes.." thing at the beginning. I guess they didn't have the time to fit it in with all the t.v candy they had in there. I actually, perhaps that shows my gullability, didn't suspect for one moment, until in the ship, that the Jaffa was a baddy. It was sad because he was alright looking! lol.....have to find a silver lining in everything. I was emotionally drained from all the scenes, that even though they were subtle, they said a hell of alot and just looks did it for me. I was a bit pissed, after reading spoilers ages back, that there was that " i love you" crap in ancient at the end.....who ever said was going to happen is in for a whoopass'ing- as i had my heart set on watching that all through the episode! Out of ten i am going to give this episode a big....10000000000000000000000000/10.....that would be a slightly top heavy fracton but when you have an episode like that- you will forgive me. All, unfortunatly, we can do now, and all we have to do, is wait for season eight to hit are screens. It isn't that long away for the people in the states but, for the few who live in Britian and can't download to save there lives, will have to wait about 7 bloody months!!!!!* runs around screaming*= "It can't be true...we need a stargate season eight fix now! lmao well that is all i can think to say, well worth it anyway, so come on season eight- we are waiting eagerly with open arms for you................... p.s if they have quality like this and ratings high then they ight reconsider there current stance on the show continuing heehee Rammy out! WOW!
I cannot wait 6 months for season 8, I think I might explode! I'd also love for it to continue for as long as possible. For every slightly poor episode (in my opinion there were none in season 7, I thought they were all good) we get one like this to make up for them all. |

Now that was a good ep! exseilly when u saw all the gou'ald ships coming over the glasier to attack the cargo ship and find out there is a lot of X302's and the X303 coming up on the other side and wow weeeeeee, bits of ship flying everywhere!. I could see that jaffa that they took with them would most prob betry them and say he was on anubis side from the beginning! it was an obverisous plot twist!
Woot Kinsely got fired! and everyone now thinks he is a piece of chicken shit for running when no one else did Great ep now 6 months to wait for S8 and to find out is the asgaurd could do anything for jack! infact i think there the only ones that could! That weapon they used was awesome. It wasn't even nearly effected by Anubis' mothership's shields. IMO that is a lot better than some laser beam fired out of a cannon. Very creative, very well done.
