I like this one enough to watch it when SciFi repeats it. Which it recently did. So I watched.
Pete has certainly generated some controversy. But what I haven't seen mentioned anywhere is that he saved Sam's life or at the very least saved her from another serious injury. The mildly questionable background check aside, this earns him points in my estimation. |

Ok on the third break of the re-run on Sky One and all Pete is doing this time is driving me crazy, he's even more annoying this time around! This episdes is great especially the Osiris thing which kinda was over shadowed by the whole Pete thing the first time round but now i am beginning to understand the storyline alot better!!
Pete must die!!! |

I just watched it again and I've decided I quite like it. Sure I want to rip Pete's head off (what kind of a shipper would I be if I didn't?) but, at the beginning of the episode anyway, he's not that bad. Obviously my feelings towards him have changed slightly now...*grumbing* how does he dare treat Sam like that...
I loved the Daniel and Sarah storyline, and Teal'c with his donuts- his face cracked me up when no one wanted one, he looked so disappointed! And the whole 'Sam and Pete in the doorway thing'...er....I don't think that was really needed. It's a family show isn't it? |

Would you be saying that if it had been Jack rather than Pete that was standing with Sam. We've seem all the male characters getting some action, and no-one says anything, but as soon as it is Sam that it happens too, then it is death to all males who touch her that aren't Jack. |

I loved that bit too I realise i haven't been on the episodes for a while so im gonna start wrting in here again. I actually really liked this episode. I did think the bit with the dance was slightly cheesy though. The whole Sarah/Osiris thing was great and Michael Shanks did some great acting but the show was stealed by Teal'c and his doughnuts. |

i thought this was a very good episode. i always liked when they added Dr. jacksons ex-girlfriend in episodes. i didnt see her once in season 6. it was a great way to end her role on stargate by surviving.
jack and sam need to be together.... they have denied there love for each other for years now... ether get together or give it up. i am glad sam acually is out of the sgc for a change... and has a boy friend |

My two cents:
I was not happy that this episode was the first episode in a long time where I had to skip. My eight year old sister was watching, and I'm just thankful I have TiVo or mom would have had to answer some questions. As it is, I had a hard time convincing her that I was going to skip some of the episode. Pete gets more and more annoying upon re-watching. He's a bozo, but he's sweet and a charmer. We've seen Sam fall for that type before(Capt. Hansen, First Commandment), and you could put Jack in the "Sweet and a charmer" category. So I made up a game for people who dislike Pete. ----------------------------- 1) Get several socks out of your drawer and roll them into balls. Place them next to you on the couch. 2) When Pete comes onscreen, throw them at the telivision. Scoring is as follows: Pete's head: 5 points Pete: 3 points Pete and Sam kissing: 2 points TV screen when Pete's on it: 1 point Sam or another member of SG-1: -2 points Note: It's best to have someone else score this, or the scorer won't have much of a chance to throw. Also, the scorer acts as a ref. He/she is the final arbiter of where you hit, so it's good for him/her to be impartial. ----------------------------- I'm happy Sam got laid. Good for her. I wouldn't make that choice, but she did and it's hers to make. I just wish it wasn't Pete who was doing the laying. I was very happy with the Daniel/Osiris storyline. The dreams creeped me out, especially when we saw Osiris, leaning over Daniel in the dark. For me, the whole Sam/Pete storyline overshadowed the Daniel/Osiris storyline, but maybe that's because I'm a shipper |

Sam's boyfriend didn't die? Did the writers screw up? LOL
It was nice to see! Good quote too, "Chicks with glowing eyes and laser beam rings are classified" Way to go Pete! |

Whoa! I don't think I've ever had so many questions/comments after watching an episode, so apologies if this turns into a looonng post!
Sara/Osiris/Daniel plot: Well, I liked Sarah before so I'm glad they brought Anna-Louise Ploughman back again. But, personally, I think this story-line got way too little screen-time. It could have easily made a whole ep on its own and it felt a little 'underdone' as it was. As such, there are a lot of questions left to answer, alot of which have been mentioned already so I wont go into too many details... How did they get the Goa'uld out of Sarah and what happened to it? How much can Sarah remember of the time while she was a host (she obviously remembers some of it), and could any information she does remember be of any use? What is going to happen to Sarah? She knows about the SGC and the Stargate now so surely she'd be a great addition to the team, especially as we seem to be losing a few recurring characters at the moment. Plus her and Daniel are great together! How the hell did they keep Daniel's neighbours quiet? Or had the area been evacuated? Gunfire, they could cover up. You could even assume that people didn't actually see Sarah's eyes glow. But firing laser blasts at people? That's gonna be hard to cover up!! And what about the ship that is somewhere in orbit around Earth? Isn't it a bit disconcerting to know that it's been hanging around there for a few days and nobody even knew it was there?!? For all we know there could be a fleet of motherships surrounding the planet right now!!! And were there other Jaffa/Goa'uld on board? If not, then there's still a ship floating around, and if there were then they are going to know Osiris isn't coming back and are going to go spill back to Anubis, who is going to work out she's not coming back eventually anyway! As for the Sam/Pete story-line: Sorry guys, on first impressions I'm not overly keen. And it's not just because I'm a S/J shipper. I went into this ep with an open mind ready to take Pete as he came and see what I thought, but he just seemed....slimy (and he actually whined!) Sam/Jack story-line: Yeah, like the rest of you I loved the scene in the lift - although I did feel a little sorry for Jack. But there's another scene that I'm surprised hasn't really been mentioned much - when Jack is finding out about the plan from Sam and asks her 'How's Pete?'. I think this was one of the best scenes in the episode because of all the different emotions involved. Jack is curious about Sam/Pete, but I took it to be in a supportive/friendly way (ie not just being nosy!), which was sweet. He's also genuinely happy for her that she's happy, and equally sad for her when she tells him, as she thinks, that it hasn't worked out - despite having feelings for her himself. I just thought it was done really well, and that the scene needed to be there to show that whatever is happening elsewhere, they are still going to function together as friends/SG-1. Although it was only a small scene, I think the episode would have felt wrong if it hadn't been there. There would have been a hole. So, sorry for the long post! Consider any questions I have asked to be rhetorical as most have already been dealt with...except this one. People have mentioned a 'hallway' scene between Sam and Pete...what scene was that? In the C4 version here in the UK, Pete and Sam were talking in bed ( |

This should have been a Sam and Jack episode or even a Jack and Sam episode!!! I DONT wanna see Sam with a NONE-O'NEILL. I think this is shipper hell... like the 3rd level or something.
but i do like the fact that Sarah's back and Daniel's no longer alone. |

Unusual episode, that's for sure. But historically speaking the shippiness of a series is expressed better when there is an outsider, a new charmer.
I liked how this change have provoked O'Neill to break the silence and go fish for information about the new charmer, even though the whole thing makes him uncomfortable. I think i liked that she found someone to have some fun and perhaps to add some further plot when her feelings are split between the two. Overall i think that this will push J&S closer eventually.... This is one of the very few stargate episodes I don't intend to re-watch much. Which is a shame, because I didn't think the Daniel/Sarah/Osiris plot was that bad.
Unfortunately it was completely overshadowed by the Sam/Pete thing. I'll freely admit to being an S/J shipper, but that wasn't why Pete annoyed me. I would have found him irritating, even if he hadn't been Sam's 'love interest' (and I find that he gets more annoying with repeated viewing!). But, honestly, the background check was the last straw....And then he gets rewarded for his snooping by (IMO unjustified) knowledge of the SGC. If Sam has to have a boyfriend other than Jack for the moment, then someone like Agent Barrett would have been a much better choice As to the hallway/bedroom scenes-I feel that they could have got the same point across with a much more edited version (if they had to do it that way at all). Hint at it and leave the rest to our imagination. I'm not being a prude or anything. Those scenes just felt out of place on Stargate. The only comparison I can think of is Brief Candle and you have to wonder why the writers didn't touch on physical relationships in that way in the intervening 5 seasons (and the Jack/Kynthia scenes in BC were far more directly related to the main plot). Edit: I really couldn't see any on-screen chemistry between AT & DD. I know that the anti-S/J shippers & no-romos have been saying that forever about AT & RDA Sorry, rant over. Ill agree with this (i didnt think id be getting myself back into the sam/pete stuff but here i am!!) There was no chemestry between them and (threads spoilers) Click for Spoiler it still feels out of place, him. I dont think he is ther person she would go for so why did she?? Maybe because she wanted to be loved. If they ever had sam saying 'i really love pete' i just didnt believe it or just went 'huh??'. I just didnt beieve it. Maybe that was the point i dont know but it always feels weird, which is why no ones accepted it really. If sam went out with agent barret how many people would react badly then, seriously?? Ps i lik this episode, i like the daniel story and i dont mind this one. |

What is going to happend with Sarah, is the character that played her desided to leave the show is that why they ended Osiris? I would really like to see a sequel to this eposide, that it shows what Shara saw and went through when she was a host to Osiris, or at least have an eposide that involves Sarah in it somehow.

Yes the actor that plays her did not want to have to keep commuting between the UK and Vancouver, B.C. Canada. So they wrote her out this way. She is gone.

Just started watching the episode on Hulu, and spotted a bit of a goof right at the beginning, when Pete asks Sam to go to the zoo with him, and she replies that "there is no zoo in Colorado Springs."
Welcome to the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo's Website! I only knew about this because I was recently reading the Wikipedia entry on Cheyenne Mountain. Anyway, back to watching the episode... |
