Indeed! Yes I love the picture ones. But never context spoilers.
Ziu the rules for episode discussion section of the forum is NO FUTURE EPISODE may be discuss at anytime unless it is in spoiler tags. That never expires. So you cannot go in to a S1 episode and talk about a S4 epiosde even though S1 was 9 years ago. You must still use spoiler tags. So yes what he did broke the rules. And yes what he did PISSED me off royally. I reported him as well. He does not have the right to ruin things for others. SO weither it was in the trailer or not does not matter. |

What a great episode! I, too, was afraid that this was going to be a ?John Sheppard Show? but was pleasantly surprised. I don?t think that with the amount of life-energy the Wraith drained from him that Sheppard would be strong enough to fight like that, but?*shrug* Also, it was fairly predictable that Sheppard wasn?t going to die, but I wasn?t sure how the Wraith was going to do it. (As it turned out, almost like a vampire turning someone, but without all the side-effects.) I knew Beckett couldn?t have, but you never know with these writers.
The Wraith?s ?There is a great deal you don?t know about the Wraith? was great, and so very true. I?d have enjoyed seeing this in S2, because it?s what I?ve been waiting for since the introduction of them in the pilot. There *is* so much we don?t know about the Wraith that, as the biggest threat, we should. As the starving victim who no doubt had a lot of time to contemplate his circumstances, it?s amazing that he came to the conclusions he did. Kill the Genii, but not Sheppard because they needed each other. Revenge against those who actually did this to him, not the one being who helped him escape. I wonder, though?will the Wraith really accept him back to the fold after so long? More we don?t know about them. But what I really liked was Ronon and Teyla?s incredulousness over the Wraith giving life back. It?s clearly something none of their people know, and I?m sure a closely guarded Wraith secret. Who?d want this getting out? They?d have people lining up outside their ships offering to worship them just for the chance at life again. The best line (other than ?There is a great deal you don?t know about the Wraith?, making this the 2nd best, I guess) is when the Wraith (give them names, please!) says that ?the gift of life is reserved for our most devout followers?and our brothers.? Reminded me of a Native American Blood Brother; the sharing of life (taking and returning in this case for a noble cause and a great necessity) is pretty powerful, and not something easily done on the Wraith?s part. He took more than he needed from his Genii captors so he could return life to Sheppard. It showed a huge depth to the character, not just as a life-sucking vampire, but as one who remembers, or more importantly has *learned*, the value of friendship. Keeping promises never seemed to me a Wraith thing until this episode, and I?d love to see more of the inner workings of their society. I loved the Ronon intimidation scenes; they were just funny because of the difference in height and the look on Landen?s face ? priceless. Landen?s comment about ?his good friend Ronon there? was right on. It also showed, without words that probably wouldn?t work in Ronon?s case anyway, the depth of feeling he has for his new friends. They?re his family now, more than his team. He?d do anything for them. Also, McKay, whom I adore, was great ? ?Let me rephrase that question? and ?Oh, it was, um?a mouse. Rat, really, very large rodent like?maybe a rabbit?? lol, great. |

I will admit, after the first feeding I thought they were going to give him his life back, but I was unsure. I could see the old, "Maybe people can recover after being fed upon." or even "Sheppard is still in good shape, but now is a living reminder of what the wraith can do."
But yeah after the second feeding it was so very obvious:) But all in all, great episode. |

Never discuss anything from a future episode without labeled spoiler tags. Don't discuss things from other seasons either... because we don't really know who has seen what. Better safe than sorry.... if you are unsure, use spoiler tags. I was under the impression that the wraith couldnt feed on Sheperd after the Bug incident in one of the earlier episodes... Why were you under that impression? |

Totally agree with that. Just the voice of the guy in the other cell is what gave the wraith away. I knew it was either a wraith or Cyvus Vail (from the show 'angel') And I like the whole idea that the wraith and humans are seeming a bit more similar. But overall this was a pretty good epsiode. Well, he did have a wraith-like voice. Yeah, it's good to see that there are some common things between wraith and humans. Just like the episode title says "common ground" I liked this ep too. When the wraith said that there's much we don't know about wraith I knew he was gonna igve life back to John. But how would you call that process? If taking energy from somebody is "feeding", what would be giving energy back? "Throwing up"? ... EDIT: This is my 200th post. This post has been edited by sg1JaffaJoo: Aug 27th 2006, 4:11 PM |

Awsome hail the writers and actors of this episode
The way Sheppard was healed well they gave away to much hints.... I thought the Wraith would do the healing..... it but I hoped he would get healed over time in Atlantis and while doing that they gained another weapon against the Wraith.... oh well just wishfull thinking..... I hope they don't let Kolya live to long.... it's about time to give him one two hrs. special and let him die...... This post has been edited by QtombeD: Aug 27th 2006, 6:56 PM |

It was a shame that they use the Halling actor to play this wraith. The wraith was too 'Halling' in his long talks for my liking. That being said the Wraith was done brilliantly.
How much of his character was down to being in that cell for years or down to taking sheps force from him, He said about feeling his strength but maybe he wasn't just talking aobut physical but mental also MaKay was great as well, I loved his speach to the Marines and thumbs up for Wier and then emptying a clip into a small defenceless mouse on that planet Ronon was slightly over the top for me, yes his friend had been kidnapped and fed apon by a wraith in front of his eyes but still.... Did i see M&M's names being credited for this one? If so then what the hell has happened to them? Someone must have slipped them both a 'good script writing' pill or two. Kinda makes me less nervous in watching any of their upcoming episodes. |

The only thing I hope is that the writers show Sheppard having some ramifications from his ordeal, nothing over the top or anything.

Watch the last 3 episode back to back. This one is pretty good.
Knew John would be ok, that was predictable, so now we all know that feeding process is reversible, you would think the Acients, might know that and left some info in the database? I like it the fact that Weir did not negotiate, knowing at that time John will die painfully and slowly. Now JS just need to get really young to parallel Jack O'Neill's life One last thing, did anyone think Ronin was a bit Over-acting when he approach Lalin asking about Sheppard, I mean he looked like it he care about he more than anything, abit too attached? or maybe bad acting? |

That's a good question. I thought the same thing. He seemed to be really protective of Sheppard or something. Or else he was just really suspicious of Ladon since he used to 'work' with Kolya. Either way, I don't understand that part either. Sometimes his behavior gets on my nerves. I guess he's used to getting what he wants through intimidation. |

I can't believe it but I'm actually starting to feel some sympathy for the Wraith. Afterall they only feed to live. Yes, I would not want to be feed on and yes I think by and large they are evil but mostly they just feed to live. I can't believe Kolya did that to Sheppard. Damn. But then again I was expecting Sheppard to say to the Wraith ... go a head and feed on any of the Genii you want here, especially Kolya. That Wraith needed to feed on Kolya, that's what I was hoping for.
GREAT EPISODE !!!!!!! QUOTE VOICE: Do you blame the Wraith or the master? SHEPPARD: I'm gonna go with both. VOICE: There is a difference. The Wraith must feed in order to live. |

Ronin is secretly in love with Shep and sometimes it bleeds through to the surface. He struggles to keep it out of site but times like these where Shep life is in jeopardy Ronin has trouble!

I doubt the Ancients knew about it. Ronin is going way overboard trying to come across as a hard-ass. I am happy we are seeing more of the complexity of Wraith culture. Complexity makes me happy. |
