I really liked this episode, I liked how you didn't know what the wraith was going to do to Shepard.

I really liked this episode, I liked how you didn't know what the wraith was going to do to Shepard. I saw that coming from mile away. I thought it was going to happen inside the cell. The difference in size between Ronan and Ladin was huge. It was like Ladin was a little kid. Horraaaayyyyy for the return of the black leather Jacket. I thought this was a good. i like the way they are humanizing the wraith a lot. I also liked the way Sheppard threw the hell outta that knife while they were escaping. It was very Arnold/Stallone like. Time to watch sg1 again... |

I forsaw this episode becoming the "Sheppard Show" again...but it didn't. Which I loved.
And it was fantastic to see Sheppard telling the Wraith to shut the hell up...what great acting on Joe Flannigan's behalf. Bless him. I saw the Wraith giving him back his life from a mile away. I kinda figured that stargate Atlantis wasn't gonna continue with Sheppard being a million years old. And I knew the wraith was going to feed on him again outside the cell. Well, other than a few predictable moments...this was a well written and well acted episode. It was really good, and I enjoyed watching it. Horraaaayyyyy for the return of the black leather Jacket. I think the Jacket is Sheppard's way of sticking out more in the show like how Ronon has his own leather coat thing, hes the only one we've seen wearing one so? Good Ep, I didnt see that part where he fed on Sheppard the last time coming, I was thinking Sheppard would get better, since he wouldnt go the rest of the season looking like a raisin but it was cool how the Wraith gave his youth back, I kind of suspected that would happen too. It'll be cool to see their interaction when they meet again, whenever? This post has been edited by Gate Jumper: Aug 25th 2006, 10:59 PM |

QUOTE And it was fantastic to see Sheppard telling the Wraith to shut the hell up...what great acting on Joe Flannigan's behalf. Bless him. I'm a sucker for torture sequences. (No offense or anything...I'm completely against the use of torture, but I enjoy character building that arises from it and I love it when actors can play it really well.) QUOTE Horraaaayyyyy for the return of the black leather Jacket. Boooooo for the leather jacket. It just reminds me of the Greasers in Grease. All together, though? This episode was pretty awesome. I personally would have handed over that Ladin guy. Since when have the Gen'i (the spelling is probably wrong, I apologize) ever done something good for us? They only bring trouble and what do we really gain from an alliance with them? That was AWESOME with Mr. Wraith and John being in cells right next to each other. This was an awesome decision by the writers. I didn't guess it the first time...but the second time when Mr. Wraith started talking creepy...I was like...wtf? Anyway, brilliant acting on behalf of Joe Flannigan and the actor who played Mr. Wraith. I knew something had to happen with John being returned to normal age (that's way too much make-up and money to keep him looking old. Plus, the show would lose an awesome character.) But, to be honest, I didn't see the Wraith giving him his life back. I certainly thought the Wraith wouldn't feed on him until he was O'Neill from 'Brief Candle'. I really hope we see this particular Wraith again. I think the two share a bond (although I think Shepperd wouldn't hesitate to kill him in the future.) The more I think about this, the more I start to feel sympathy for the Wraith...which is awesome writing. The more we know about the Wraith, the more scary it is to see the similarities between Wraith and Humans. |

Absolutely agreed. I have nothing bad to say about this episode. No nitpicks, not plotholes. Just riveting television.
Fantastic. |

OMG that episode so rocked.
» Click to Show Spoiler « Joe did a fantastic job and I can't wait to see what he says about the ep on Sunday. The actor that played the Wraith is Christopher Heyerdahl, he plays Halling on Atlantis sometimes. He was awesome. » Click to Show Spoiler « » Click to Show Spoiler « I would have to give the writer's two thumbs way up on this episode. |

I knew as soon as they were outside and the Wraith attacked him, that he was going to give him his life back.
Pretty awesome episode overall. Why is the guy that plays Halling playing Wraith all of a sudden? 'All bets are off'.... nice! 'There is a great deal you do not know about Wraith'.... |

For the first time, I liked the Atlantis episode more then the SG1 episode.
This one had so much depth. I liked how the Wraith said he had been there for years. They had been starving him. The Wraith and Shep spoke as most prisoners would, even after they knew who and what the other was. I figured that there had to be something that the Wraith could do because John got fed upon to the point almost like Sumner in season 1. Something had to happen. The Wraith had begun to give up hope. He was starving. He would die there. Listening to Shep talk about escaping and believing that his people would come, gave the Wraith hope to try and survive. Once they escaped, I bought them as a team. I bought them working together to survive. Even though I felt that the Wraith giving Shep back his life was kind of a copy out, it didn't bother me. I went with it. I have been complaining from day one that the Wraith were boring and cliche, nothing to them. They finally have given the Wraith something that makes them interesting. They can give back life to worshippers or to brothers. So Shep is a brother, yet, if they meet again, all bets are off, or are they? On a side note, I loved Ronon's expression when they were going to go and rescue Shep, and Weir said, "If you find Koyla........."Ronon smiled and said, "no promises." |

I'm SO glad they finally gave the Wraith some more dimension than them simply being all evil...
I would REALLY love to see this Wraith meeting Michael... |

Finally an episode that was not a re-hash of an old SG-1 storyline.
I also liked the way they made the Wraith less monstrous. |

Why is the guy that plays Halling playing Wraith all of a sudden? 'All bets are off'.... nice! 'There is a great deal you do not know about Wraith'.... Oh yeah, me too... I mean, Sheppard was looking so old... there was no other way for him to return to his charming self then for the Wraith to give his life back. A very nice episode... Kolya makes good episodes for Atlantis. Can't wait for his return... » Click to Show Spoiler « Heh, McKay's little scenes (the first with him briefing the team just like a military guy, and the second with the mouse) were just wonderful... I can't imagine an episode without him. |

I liked this one, too. The life energy "re-supply" was kinda easy to see comming, but it wasn't a bad way to show it. Thumbs up on this one...

Great show. I always hoped they would do a show like this one. I'm about 50/50 that they will meet again in a future episode. If they do, it should be interesting. I hope it doesn't happen for awhile though, atleast 4 episodes.

got a query.. i though that the receiving end of the gate is able to see the address of the sender or is it just my bad memory.
i thought that when you dial a gate the receiving gate will light up symbols according to the address of the sender. also shouldn;t it be easier to find out where shepard is, i mean they got the last 50 addresses that was dialed i would assume in chronological order. all htey had to do was to backtrack... |

I thought this episode was really good too. I liked seeing steel and strength behind Sheppard's flip sense of humor. I liked that he wouldn't give up, or let the Wraith give up. It shows a measure of his character that he was able to rise above the fact that the Wraith had, in essence, mortally wounded him. Thumbs up, Shep - and you don't look half bad as an old guy either.
However, I failed to see that a case was made for Weir to not hand over Ladin in exchange for Shep. Big deal if that how we do it on Earth. Who cares? They're nowhere near Earth, and as Shep would say, that makes all bets off. What has Ladin ever done for them? Basically, all they know about him is that he was a traitor. They should have handed him over on a plate, with a side of fries. Also, I thought the Wraith was cool. Who knew they could have a sense of humor and honor? Ronin was a bit over the top as usual, though I liked the fact that he's warmed up enought to overtly call Sheppard a friend. It was a little different from his usual noncommital exterior. He's tall! |

When I saw the wraith feeding on Sheppard and he turned old and grey I was like NO WAY!! There's got to be something that'll make him young again
I liked how Weir did things HER way and kept a clear mind while Sheppard was being tortured in front of them. However she took a big risk with Landen (hope I got his name right)..... I would have at least send Ronan back with him, just to make sure. Loved how they made the wraith again look like the bad guys with a noble cause... if you're starving you have to eat... I'm pretty sure this one never cared about his victims ever suffering before but all those years alone in jail with no food made him see things in a different way. It's interesting how close they are to humans in some ways |

QUOTE i thought that when you dial a gate the receiving gate will light up symbols according to the address of the sender. I agree. Wasn't there an Atlantis Episode where they were able to see who dialed in? Or an SG-1 episode? Or maybe it was just the fact that they had to be on the world to see where the gate dialed...can anyone clear this one up? |
