Has anyone heard anything about this ep? I read somewhere that Sheppard finds himself stranded somewhere with a Wraith. Anyone know anything about that?

Every show has to have this sort of episode it seems, where the main character and his enemy are isolated somewhere and have animosity toward each other at first, but must learn to help each other so both can survive. The movie Enemy Mine with Dennis Quaid & Louis Gossett Jr. comes to mind for me.
I just hope this variation of that tired plot is acted well and not blah blah.. |

If it's the eps I remember, the Cylon sacrificed himself to save Starbuck from other Cylons sent to retrieve the missing Cylon Ship.Starbuck was left stranded and alone on the planet in question with no mention as to whether he ever was able to leave. |

"Hell in the Pacific" comes to mind for me. I think it was Lee Marvin and some Japanese dude, stranded together in the middle of WWII. There's almost no dialogue (the Japanese guy doesn't get subtitles) but the movie's pretty intense until the end, which was kind of a letdown. But... nobody really cares, do they? Yeah. Up my post count. |

*** Spoilers Below *** New details on 'The Defiant One' SATURDAY - NOVEMBER 13, 2004 GateWorld has received new info on the upcoming Stargate Atlantis episode "The Defiant One!" The episode is expected to be among the early offerings when new episodes return to The SCI FI Channel in January. Beware of spoilers in the report below! Major Sheppard, Dr. McKay, and two scientists from Atlantis take a Puddle Jumper to investigate a newly-discovered Ancient weapons platform in space. It seems to be doing its job well -- they also detect the wreckage of a downed Wraith ship on a nearby desert planet. Convinced that it's worth investigating, they take the Puddle Jumper down to the planet's surface. Dr. Wier is cautious and sends Lt. Ford and Teyla in as back-up, but they won't arrive for several hours. The team investigates the Wraith ship and discovers that it is a supply ship, transporting human food cargo. They also find that the planet is home to a swarming insect species, who have a penchant for candy or energy bars. The team splits up to cover more ground in exploring the nearby area -- not knowing that a single Wraith survived the crash, and has stayed alive by feeding off his cargo. The Wraith catches the two scientists, feeding off one and wrapping up the other for later. Torturing his victim, the Wraith learns the location of the Puddle Jumper, and sets out for it. Major Sheppard finds the Wraith there, trying to hotwire the ship, and the two go head to head. Sheppard must use every trick he knows to find a way to defeat the creature. Awesome episode. It's cool how those bug things were exactly like the ones from that planet on SG-1. Except they didn't kill people.

How about going to episode discussion then? We don't want details here. Those of us who haven't seen the episode want to continue theorizing. |

You forgot to mark the second part, "speculation". There's a difference between pre-air spoilers from official sources, combined with speculation from the fans, and giving away what really happens. That's at least my opinion.
You know, it's just that I always read spoilers, and normally I can still be wondering "How will they solve the crisis in The Eye" (just an example)? And I can speculate with others. That's fun. But then somebody comes in and gives it away. Why doesn't he go to episode discussion then? Your comment about the bugs wasn't that bad, though. |

for those who have seen the episode (this is speculation), isn't the scientist that's always arguing with Mckay the same guy who played Nyan in the season 3 episode of SG-1 "new ground", or am i just insane...

QUOTE(DFA @ Jan 5th 2005, 9:17 AM) for those who have seen the episode (this is speculation), isn't the scientist that's always arguing with Mckay the same guy who played Nyan in the season 3 episode of SG-1 "new ground", or am i just insane... Click for Spoiler and that question would have gone better in the specific episode discussion(it is a spoiler even though its aired mostly everywhere) and refers to a specific character that appeared there(speculation means you dont know anything and are wildly guessing based on spoilers given before it was aired, refer to ted_simple's last 2 posts) |
