» Click to Show Spoiler « And one thing Indy, honest question here. But have you enjoyed season 4? Yes there have been flaws in it but overall, have you enjoyed it? You sat and watched all 20 episodes you must have got something out of it? Things have changed and some wrong decisions were made in the past, but this is where the show is now. Without Beckett, with Keller ect. Once you accept that, is this a season you have enjoyed? IP, an honest question. High Points for me: 1. I have thoroughly enjoyed the character of Todd. I think he brought something very unique to the show. For a Wraith, he's an extremely interesting character. They actually took time to flesh out his character. 2. I have always loved the character of Michael from day one. Having him return is a good thing. He's a very dark, twisted bad guy, IMO. 3. I loved the episode where Teal'c visited. I thought it was a very good one for both him and Ronon. 4. I enjoyed the return of Beckett, but I wish he were the real one and not a clone, but then his death would have been meaningless. Beckett is a character that touched so many lives, and to have his death end up being meaningless would have been wrong. 5. I loved being able to see Sam once again. I love her character and I liked her stepping out of her comfort zone (military/scientist) and being the leader of Atlantis. I loved how she handled Woolsey. She was awesome! 6. I liked learning more about John and his family. I think the episode could have been longer, but I did enjoy it. 7. I enjoyed the season ender a lot. I actually cannot wait to see what will happen. Just by the fact that John did return, there should be some changes. 8. I like that they finally gave Teyla a character. Of course Rachel had to be pregnant herself for that to happen, but it did. 9. I liked how the Genii came back. I always said they would make a really good, "bad guy." Not so high points: 1. Keller as the CMO. I'm sorry, but I have not warmed up to her at all. Yes, I understand how and why she was able to become the CMO. They at least explained that to us. For me, she just does not fit. 2. I know that I sound like a broken record, but I really hate that they allow Rodney to take two steps forward in growth and one step backwards all the time. I loved that he presented Teyla with a recording for the baby. He was being sensitive. I loved how he was willing to have Todd feed on him to help save his sister. Yet in Quarantine he reverted to the hypo he used to be. He should have been there for Katie but she had to take care of him. I don't like how he won't give credit where credit is due, unless he gives it grudgingly. 3. I don't like how they had Rodney and Katie in a relationship for over a year and we didn't see it. At least we didn't see it until they broke up. A wasted relationship that could have gone somewhere. 4. I don't like that they only used Sam in a minimal way. She has so much knowledge and experience and I feel was totally uderused. 5. I don't like that they only brought Beckett back as a clone, put him in a stasis pod and may or may not bring him back. If not handled correctly it could just be a, "oh Carson, we needed your expertise for this one thing, this crisis, but we haven't found a solution for you yet, so back into the freeze." There is probably more on both sides, but this is what hit me right now. So I guess it's about a 50-50 in likes and dislikes. But I did in fact like it a lot better than Season 1 and 3. I think season 2 was a good one. Since I did like how it ended, I will want to see how it ends during season 5. I will also be looking forward to seein the SG1 characters on the show. |

This discussion couldn't be held in the SGA S4 thread somewhere? Maybe in the Last Man thread?

I've been rewatching the show from season 1 for the last couple of weeks and this episode is always one of my favourites. The scene with Bregman and Daniel when Bregman talks about the photographer in Vietnam is one of the most powerful I've ever seen in the show.

I keep telling myself that it is just a show but it doesn't help :'( I thought that telling my opinions before I saw the entire episode would be better since I dont really want to see the last 8 minutes. (Its paused at 32 minutes here) Great episode - 10/10 And...its really really sad. I didn't hate the reporter guy before so his speeches didn't make me regret that I hated him or anything. Great episode - (I should stop those tears dammnit :'( ) And on a side note - the planet is named P3X 666. Ring a bell??? :'( Adam was awesome in it though, I miss Firefly |

I was watching old reruns when I noticed the 666 thing, I had to rewind and pause it just to be sure that I saw it right, I can't believe they made it that... Adam was awesome in it though, I miss Firefly I actually heard that 616 was the number of the beast, not 666. The earliest known version of Revelations has it as 616, just FYI. The designations are probably assigned by the computer, in the show. I don't remember anything about this episode that would have associated it with The Beast... |
