I liked this ep, I liked that it was more centred around Teyla and we're starting to see more character related eps. It was cool when she went all evil and started chucking everyone around...how did the Wraith actually know she was there, and how did it do that to her? Did I miss something in the ep?
I have to admit I'm jealous of that Psychologist woman who's seeing Mckay...but what was he doing just stood in front of the door when Teyla came in? I can't believe the series finale is next week already, it hardly seems any time since I was sitting down to watch the first episode! |

QUOTE(ali @ Feb 23rd 2005, 9:35 PM) I can't believe the series finale is next week already, it hardly seems any time since I was sitting down to watch the first episode! it's not. Siege part one. then Part 2 the week after... But at least Enterprise is taking the slot until they come back. i can remember being like this last year. SG1 ended with the battle above earth and i died on my seat. then Enterprise started and series 3 was a whopper O.O so series 4. The final. will keep me occupied till Stargate comes back. |

QUOTE(TeamX76 @ Feb 23rd 2005, 10:44 PM) it's not. Siege part one. then Part 2 the week after... So the finale started today. Ali was correct. An amazing episode. You can really tell where the creative genius is focused now. It was brilliant, so much better than 'Moebius'. Cant wait to see the second part. Hearing McKay scream when Groden (was that his name??) turned the gravity on make me laugh. I was expecting the satellite to last longer though. Cant believe Groden died. He was pretty much in every episode. EDIT: Click for Spoiler This post has been edited by Dafmeister: Mar 1st 2005, 5:37 PM |

Atlantis has completely shattered all doubts I had about a spin-off.
QUOTE(ted_simple) I don't see how the whole satellite-story which resulted in the destruction of one mothership was necessary at all. It just was a filler. Nothing changed. And now they have to wrap the essential plot into one episode. I didn't feel the sequence with the satellite was redundant. True, the threat is still effective, two ships are still perfectly capable of wreaking havoc, but at least it has been reduced slightly. I personally like the idea of troubleshooting around problems. Sure, it's all well and good when SG1 finds a big honkin' space gun in 'Lost City' that can wipe out 30+ ships at the snap of a neuron, but I find it more interesting when victory is claimed bit by bit. It's the whole working the problem that I like. I just don't want "they're coming, they're coming, they're coming, look here's a deus ex machina, bang, they're gone." I like seeing them think of ways of dealing with the threat, trying to use them, and not completely succeeding. It's boring when the first attempt works. These people are troubleshooting, let's see them troubleshoot. It's not all about the bottom line. It was good seeing them tinkering with the satellite. It was a bit spacey. Plus we got to see more Ancient technology and Groden had a noble death. I like the way they have set up a whole slew of semi-regs and not just technician of the week. I think the writers realise that the more characters they can invent the better, since this is a fixed team. QUOTE(Arigas) Notice the last line in the brackets? That means, if you don't want to read anything about what happens, don't read the thread. After all, its impossible to discuss anything without saying what happened in the episode. Hardly. I have no problem with just discussing this episode because I don't know anything about the next one. You'll notice that Arcady has a seperate thread for each part. If you want to talk about both at the same time, post in the thread for the second part. Besides, there's always this neat spoilers feature. Click for Spoiler Click for Spoiler QUOTE(nitesoul) its shepperd crossing the line or at least bluring the normal conventions of the good guy I liked that. I don't want our good guys to always be saints. |

as hammond said in 'into the fire' (the one with hammond in the jaffa gate fighter thing)
YEEEE-HAAAAAA! well i must agree with the people who said that this was better than SG1 'moebius pt1' it was great lots of tension. in response to DAFMEISTER groben is (or was) called grodin. i must suggest a moment of silence for peter grobin who sacrificed his life for atlantis. (stands up, unfurls a union jack anyway.....back to the episode. it occured to me when the art flew over the city that the possibility of a wraith being 'beamed down' into atlantis but at the time i thought that he would have been detected. SPOILER SPACE the synopsis of PT 2 says that hammond appears some how. this got my brother thinking, most people know that O'Neill gets hammonds job in S9 but what happens that makes the job available for jack to take? does something happen to hammond in Atlantis? does he die?? or badly injured? i don't think i can wait till next week for PT 2 |

It was a good episode, but I can't believe they got rid of the British guy (Grodin). There better be other Brits at Atlantis.

Lol...I posted my comment for last week's ep in here. *sighs* I need a break..
This set up for next week's ep nicely. It's so bad that they can't fit any more data onto their hard drives and everything could be lost..and I can't help thinking that wherever they evacuate to, the Wraith might find them. I can't believe that Groeden died! And what a horrible way to die as well...I liked him, why did he have to die? The satellite ripping up the Wraith ship looked so cool! Literally ripped it in half! Can't wait for next week's ep, it's gonna be cool. |

Now this is what the first part of a season ender should be like. This set it all up perfectly, and i liked how they weren't afraid to kill of a character so early in the series life. And what a way for Groeden to die... stuck with no escape, to stand there and face your doom. He sacrificed his life in the hope of saving Atlantis... not a bad way to go really.
Can't wait to see how the Wraith are stopped in the end, and from the clips it looks like it's going to be good. One thing though... the satellite using a beam weapon? The effect of it destroying the Wraith ship was great, but it kind of feels odd. It doesn't seem... Ancient like, lol. Still that's just me i guess. Great episode overall, if only SG-1 hadn't done similar. |

I think this was a great episode, I was sh*tting myself laughing when Mckay had to go out to space, lol. I think it was a bit shocking how they had to kill the ONLY english member of the expedition. I liked the speech from the Wraith spy at the end, very good, and how Sheppard just lost it and kept shooting him. Overall I would rate this episode 9/10.

Teyla is pretty good with her sticks...
Anyhow i'm suprised at the long...wait that some people had to watch the 1st ep. it seems it was at least a month ago since i saw this ep of atlantis. I still think Groden shouldn't have died. But i'm glad they didnt just have him die from a weapon where he got in the way or something like that. He died in a noble death because he didnt want the jumper to come close. I'm going to miss him...amazing how they kill him off just as a i develop a crush for him |

QUOTE If Telya can get information from the wraith on the hive ships and they can take over her from there, why can't the wraith on atlantis simply relay information to the wraith on the hive ships? Couldn't help but thhink of the wraith named "Steve" and imagined that either the writers goofed OR may perhaps the wraith stopped their experiments cause the ancients-human telepathy was stronger than their own- hence the reason the other wraith wanted the wraith scientist to stop his experiments. Of course this is my own VERY humble opinion. P_J This post has been edited by Puddle_Jumper: Mar 18th 2005, 5:57 PM |

it was a good episode, I was getting mad at weir when she went city wide with bad news, "we've failed" nice morale booster weir.
it had some good parts and some so-so parts. I agree with bates though, teyla is a security risk. 7.5/10 |

Much better than Moebius. I was actually surprised at the death. I thought they would spend some time developing that character, but no great loss in my book... A great story beats the characters down to nothing, then builds them back up clawing and scraping. I'm hoping that means this will be a great 3 parter. Thumbs up!!

Some how I just think Teyla had the right away but John did have a point you can't go arounf decking the head of Secruity . But he hasn't liked her since he came to HER PLANET in Rising , and Suscpion , and The Gift , And the Seige , and Season Two and .... get what I'm saying . And after insulting her after the fact she found out about her link to the Wraith in The Gift . I think that's wrong and I know he's doing his job . but that is wrong. And if I was Shep I 'd let Teyla deck Bates. |

This episode was certainly a fabulous way to start the end of the season! Especially when they found out they had a Wraith on board!
And what's with Sheppherd naming yet another Wraith Bob??!!! Let's not get redundant Major! Try something like Hank, or even Joe for Pete's sake. |

I have a new, new love (sorry Rodney) and his name is Zelenka. I don't even know what his first name is but it doesn't matter because I love him. I really had never taken much notice of Zelenka until the wonderful little scene where Zelenka offers to take Rodney's place on what is, essentially, a suicide mission. I love how Rodney brings out the best and worst in people. (Okay, so I still love Rodney, too)
McKay: "You can't take it back, because you've just admitted I'm smarter than you are. It was hard for you to say, but the truth shone through, when you were compelled to speak. Zelenka: "You are a miserable little man!" McKay: "Hey, Hey, let's not ruin the moment here." Love them both! Starting to hate Weir again though. |

that's a good quote.
I am glad that Zelenka is getting more scenes...and with Groden gone we do need another regular cast member to make more appearances. Zelenka hasn't got many faults either and because he has brains he has things to contribute to episodes and he has a good role. And i love the way he is not always clean cut. |

The story about her Father Tugan and mother is hazy I hope someone can clear it up . That be a cool ep . if Teyla ran into her dad who's part Wraith , and his being used to spy on thses planet's that the Wraith had been marking for a while . Well that's me and my crackpot ideals . BUt I hope to see more after this .. can't wait til season 2 |
