I thought that this episode was overall pretty good. liked how Dr. weir took command and really showed that pony tailded guy whos boss i do hope that she sends him to a wasteland planet. atlantis looks good so far hope that they can make it into a very successful series.

1) Tailed guy: I think Weir was unfair to him in the first place saying he was only thinking of his own ass. There are lots of people in Atlantis: far more than on that one ship.
2) What's with the wraiths' faces? Why would they run around with staffs, if they have tech superior to Ancients? It's like seeing Asgard/Nox with staffs! 3) The entire time I thought that the reason they stopped was because there was some kind of mechanism in the Stargate that didn't let *those bugs* through, and once they've defeated the bug, it would go through on its own. (That theory of mine was reinforced when they poured salt water on the bug, and the ship moved.) |

Alone, I'd give it an 8 Compared to the other episodes of Atlantis so far. 9. For some reason, it just had me compelled and on the edge. Even though I knew everything would be alright. |

I wasn't all that keen on this episode. I don't understand how in the very first week they can fly through the Stargate like a bat out of hell, and this week, they were going so slow through the gate that they could have walked faster!
If they were flying a little faster, ya know... like it was a real medical emergency, then maybe they wouldn't have gotten stuck in the first place. But oh well... I guess that it was all in the script. I was just a little disappointed. On a brighter note... SG-1 was great! |

This episode was very well done...especially with the flashbacks. If Atlatnis keeps this up, they'll be making a name for themselves. Its funny how a whole episode can be centered within one chamber of a Puddle Jumper, and yet put you on edge a little.
Although, I knew every thing would turn out alright, seeing as the main character's couldn't just up and die, I still got that urgent feeling at times. Yes, I have to give the producers a hand! Oh, and I do hope we don't have to see those bugs again! I'll give it a 8 out of 10. |

I honestly didn't like this episode very much. I though last week's was much better. I'm really starting to dislike Weir, sure you can say she was just asserting her command, but I think she went a little over the top. She was excessively hard on the scientist, and to the religious guy in my opinion. She's annoying.
On the up side, we get to see a little more of Lt. Ford, and the alien bug was pretty cool in a gross kind of way. I loathe leeches. The "omg we're stuck in the gate" story was a little lacking in suspense and seemed more like an excuse to play out the bug thing longer though. |

The reason they couldn't fly fast was that Sheppard is the only one who can really control the ship really well. The other guys aren't that good at it.
The best part of the show is still McKay. It's hillarious to watch him. |

I don't think you want to be flying fast, when you have to stop immediately on the other side of the gate. (Why would the ancients build that tiny gate room, when they know they are going to be flying ships through there?) You exit at the same speed as you enter.

You could tell from when they took off from the planet that they were having trouble piloting. Sheppard's the only one who can easilly use ancient technology. The others have to work at it.
Did anyone catch the homage to Signs? After making fun of the movie on SG-1, there's a bug on Atlantis that reacts negatively to water. That must be why Atlantis was submurged in the ocean. If the Wraith are biologically similar to the bugs they might react negatively to salt water too. |

Yeah right, I found this weeks Atlantis episode much more exciting. Last weeks didn't really attract me. I found the bug thing a way of getting the job done faster. It was really interesting, especially with all the breakdowns going on. It kinda scared me when Shepard started yelling in pain when they put salt water on the thing, its just focused completely on him. Anyways, I think we can compare Jack and Sam with this new show. Shepard - Weir? Shepard was definitely hiding something from her. |

Yeah, I thought that was a little strange too. The way Sheppard acted - hesitant to answer - gave me the impression that he was intending to tell Weir that he cared about her or something like that, but said "take care of each other" to cover in front of everyone. Weird. |

Hmm, remind anyone of the weakness of the aliens in "Signs"? Actually, I kept thinking, argh, more bugs, Jack would be ticked (pun intended).
Well, I am enjoying Atlantis greatly. Plenty of action, humour, fuel for thought. McKay is hilarious (Sam would never panic that way) and Weir is a strong base commander. Ford is strong and Teyla is plucky. And, no, I don't believe there is any ship going on between Sheppard and Weir. It's way too soon for that and I find myself not wanting to see it at all, oddly enough. Tired of all the shipper/anti-shipper drama, I guess. *heavy sigh* |

Diverting episode; good bubble gum for the eyes.
I'd give it a 5.5 out of 10. McKay annoys the hell out of me! Teyla is just too goodie-goodie to be true, and Weir is beginning to look like a Wraith. Oh, well. At least it's not a rerun of something. |

I haven't liked Atlantis from day one. I didn't watch the episode last night, rather this morning while surfing the web. I thought 38 minutes was terrible. I am comparing the series to the greatness of SG-1 which may be unfair, but if you are going to make a sequel to SG-1 the viewer has the right to expect good things. I'm happy that Atlantis seems to have a following though.
From a technical side (I was in the industry years ago), the show was terrible: the editing, writing, effects. The flashbacks were ok, but couldn't save the episode for me. I want to do some research on who wrote and directed the episode. I was under the impression that some of the SG-1 crew went to Atlantis, if so, what are they doing? I am curious though to know the demographics of the people that like this show. IMHO, Atlantis is worse than Enterprise. Overall 1 out of 10. I LOVE Atlantis so far, and I'm sorry some of you strongly dislike it, but that is your opinion. My opinion is the show is only in it's infancy and I really like the effects we get (for a basic cable series). A few things annoy me, but overall, I am satisfied and look forward to another episode next Friday night.
I'm more concerned about SG-1 since this is most likely the last season for them. |

I'm kinda the same over here. It just isn't the same! Jack, Sam, Teal'c, Daniel.... its like they disappeared out of nowhere. One of the big reasons why I liked SG-1 was the friendship between them, but Atlantis doesn't do a very good job showing it. I did like this Atlantis episode better than the others so far. I think Atlantis has..... a lot more fantasy involved. The SGC was a lot more realistic to me, and Stargate Atlantis is a realy different. Anyways, for some reason this episode of Atlantis was good, it was funny and a little tense. The other episodes really didn't appeal to me. They were just..... boring. I don't know about you guys but its really going to suck when SG-1 ends. |
