From GateWorld:
The Atlantis team visits the planet Genii, where they hope to negotiate for food to sustain the population of the new base. Teyla's people have traded with the Genii before, and she is somewhat surprised when they do not agree to trade for antibiotics from Earth. But when Major Sheppard and Lieutenant Ford demonstrate the explosive power of C4 and its usefulness in clearing tree stumps, Cowen, the leader of the Genii, agrees to a trade. But the Genii are not merely the simple, preindustrial farmers they appear to be. They are more advanced than even Telya knew; Sheppard and Dr. McKay discover a secret underground bunker, and are captured by Cowen and his army. Sora herself -- a friend of Teyla's -- is a capable warrior. Cowen commands a resistance movement that oppose the Wraith with military force, and despite Sheppard's insistance that they are on the same side, he is determined to use the humans for any and all intelligence, supplies, and technology he can get. The Genii are building a powerful bomb to use against the Wraith, and Cowen promises that McKay will become a hero among their people when he helps them develop it. McKay and Sheppard are interrogated, and only the promise of a demonstration of the Ancients' advanced ships can win their freedom. The humans and Genii prepare for a joint mission against the Wraith. But when all the cards are played, will the team have won a new ally ... or a new enemy? |

I agree, I haven't seen him since DS9. I wouldn't mind seeing him on Atlantis as an off and on character (assuming his character doesn't suck or dies off), but I guess we'll have to wait and see. This post has been edited by Reignfire: Aug 8th 2004, 12:33 AM |

This sounds interesting. I'm thinking they will end up being a new enemy. Just like the opener, Robert Patrick was a good character, but died off. I'm assuming that Colm Meaney will be the same. Although it would be nice to have some people on these planets that they could get to know and be friends with. Someone, old and wise like Bra'tac, that could help with the Wraiths, would be a nice touch.
They only picked so many military, civilians, scientists and doctors to go to Atlantis. Consequently, they can't kill off one of their own every week, or they run out of people. I'm assuming that is part of the off-world visits. Besides, meeting new friends, trying to find new resources, etc. You can have a guest appearance, have him be important and helpful, but sadly die. Was anyone else disappionted that they didnt find room for Robert Patrick to be a permanent cast member? He's a talented actor, a lot more than any of the SGA cast IMO. I think his presence would have added a lot to the show. Anyway, I think these aliens will end up being friends but not very trusted ones. As long as they're fighting the Wraith, they're automatically friends because of a common enemy. Remember, the enemy of my enemy is my friend. Well what i think is that they will have a friend, but not a very trusting friend
someone who is basically good, but will go to extreme measures for what they want. their intentions might be good but their approch is somewhat questionable well the best example i can come up with is they are the NID version in pegasus galaxy |

Yep, I was very disappointed that they didn't find a way to keep Robert Patrick. I would have liked to continue watching Sumner and Sheppard interact. One a diehard military person, one that bends the rules a bit. Plus, IMO, Sumner would have made a better commander for Atlantis then Weir is turning out to be. Weir, might be better on a team that goes offworld. She does not lead SGA very well. I have given her enough time to do it and so far, I'm not impressed. I think Robert Patrick would have been a better commander. With Sheppard having the ancient gene, Sumner couldn't just push him off. He would have to deal with it and him. |

I think that they will be the enemy described in 110-111
What better way of taking over Atlantis then by invading with inside intel. Pretending to be allies, they know of the location of Atlantis and find out that it is defensless. Surely it is theirs for the taking as I am sure Cowen's army is large enough, well at least large enough to be cocky about attacking the Wraith. |
