From GateWorld.net:

"While on a survey of an abandoned naquadah mine on P3X-403 one of Colonel Edwards' men, one Lt. Ritter, goes missing. SG-1 arrives to help in the search, and Daniel finds evidence of Unas living on the planet. The Unas want the 'Umans' (i.e. humans) to leave their home alone. The humans want to mine the rich deposit of naquadah they have just discovered.

"Daniel calles in his old buddy, Chaka, to help him negotiate with the local Unas leader, who Daniel nicknames Iron Shirt for the Jaffa armor he wears. It's a tense situation and negotiations break down as an Unas is mistakenly killed by a soldier who believes he is about to be attacked."

Guest characters include Major Lorne, Lt. Menard, Lt. Woeste (likely named after director Peter Woeste), Colonel Edwards, Iron Shirt and Lt. Ritter.

Meanwhile, a report at SG1_Spoilme adds more details:

"Daniel finds some artifacts that the team found, but didn't mention, which Daniel senses is an important find that shouldn't have been moved. The searching continues, until Teal'c and Daniel find some 'scarecrows.' Daniel recognizes a necklace around one of the figures as the same kind that the Unas wore to protect themselves from Goa'uld implantation. He also recognizes the figures as a warning of some kind.

"The team soon discovers the warning is dire when it's revealed Ritter is one of those figures. Daniel thinks the team somehow, unwittingly, provoked the attack but before anymore can be discussed, the SG teams find themselves under attack by Unas.

"Somehow, the team gets Chaka to this world as a kind of go-between to help Daniel communicate with the indigenous Unas. The Unas wish to be left alone, refuse to leave their world, and want the humans to go away. The humans' problem escalate horribly when an SG-12 team member kills an Unas, and the rest of the Unas tribes decide to move in for the kill."

The H#- With the language!!!!Can't any of the teems put two and two together, when they see artafacts in the ground? Do all teems need a Arceiolegest with them?( Sorry I don't no how to spell to will.)but you get my point? Are we going to blame this on Jack? Shot first then as questions? I hope that it is not Chaka that they kill!!!!!Jack don't do that to much now. Jack knows it is easyer to get answers with sweet talk then with bullits. blink.gif

i think there's more to the unas than meets the eye. they've been through alot, being the first hosts and all, but they survived somehow and weren't all enslaved or killed. and plus, ever notice how you never see an unas still inhabited by a gua'uld? i wonder why.

yeah we have seen a unas that had a gua'uld inside him...it was in that ep when SG1 destroyed thor's hammer in order to save T from been trapped in a mountain. In the ep Jack and T killed a Unas that was been controlled by a Gua'uld. Also it is mentioned in one ep that once the Gua'uld found humans they stopped using unas becuase humans where better hosts and the Gua'uld could pose as gods in human form due to our beliefs, much more fun that simple Unas society!!!

The working title for this episode was "Enemy Mine" but it was changed to "Hallowed Ground." Now they have decided to keep the original working title, so it has changed back to "Enemy Mine."

Hmm. I wonder if this takes place on the Beast of Burden world where those humans were enslaving Unas. I also wonder if they show anything about Chaka's quest to free them.

Here is a neat observation, but off-topic concerning the title of this episode. I was not sure if I should put this in General discussion or here since talking about it is a spoiler.

There is also a movie named Enemy Mine starring Dennis Quad as a human and Louis Gosset Jr. as a repitillian alien.. sort of like the unas in appearance and talk too. In this movie Quad and Gosset crash on a planet and have to survive together in their harsh environment. they learn something about each other. Soon Quad's character is rescued and the Gosset character is captured and turned into a slave. Quad foes back and rescues the alien he befriends. Hmm i was thinking also that the sg-1 episode The First ones seems to be like the first part of the movie and the ep Beast of Burden is like the last half of the movie Enemy Mine.

So I wonder if the name of this episode is maybe an Homage to the Movie which perhaps inspired the last two eps? Ok, see how I cleverly brought it back on topic hehe. whistling.gif

You know moody I never thought of that until you brought it up. I'll have to go and check out some websites to see if any reference is made to this point. It is too much of a coincidence otherwise.

Good observation moody, keep up the good work.

does anyone else think they are wasting an episode here, with this almost definately going to be the last series. It's a big of an odd topic to base it on, without chaka it being a translater it really does sound like a rehashed idea, when they could be dealing with so many more interesting long running plots, my main favorites (there are a few) being,

a) The replicators aren't gone, what the hell are the asguard doing now,
cool.gif BRING BACK THE ASCHEN... evil in such a quiet, yet EVIL way, very bizarre bad guys!
c) Yu, is there anyone who doesn't want them to develop Lord Yu (insert big long jade lord proper name here), he is by far the most interesting system lord going, even better than anubis, anubis has more plot holes than a car on the freeway scene in the matrix reloaded, but Yu has that mysterious good evil twist to him. It so looks like they've been setting him up to turn good, ever since we first saw him.
d)Anubis... bit of a no brainer
e) Maybourne... the WORST attempt to end a story in series 6, is he or isn't he a tokra
f) whats going on with the tokra
g) Promethius... what are they doing with the scrap bucket these days?

things JP doesn't want to see,
Jaffa Rebellion, Unas, Jack and Carter hooking up, Teal'c and Carter hooking up... ANYONE hooking up with Carter, Kinsey (unless they're gonna shoot him), Clip shows!

I agree with you in general about a waste of an episode. Although the unas storyline is ok, it just seems boring to me. Lets see some unas with goauld inside them, seems more fun that way tongue.gif

Things Boo doesnt want to see: Clip episodes, maybe not any more unas.

perhaps the unas will tie in to the war with the goaul'd (?)...they could be a strong ally if they are willing to fight for us and listen to our leaders. they obviously can kill the "snakes" and very efficiently too. i am looking forward to the humor in this ep. the interactions between the team members is what gets me through any epsisode i am not as thrilled about. makes it bearable. so heres hoping they allow that aspect of the show through... rolleyes.gif

i don't think the Unas will allie up with humans because from the teaser it looks like they get into a battle. Not a particularly good way to get allies

I don't know about that. In real life, can you think of any of our current allies we haven't been at war with at one time or another? In fact, most of the ones that hate us the most at the moment have never been at war with us. Hmmmm ... have to think on this... laugh.gif
