QUOTE(Danimoth @ Jan 15th 2005, 9:13 AM) Well it depends how you see it. SGA All the Chevrons light up SG-1 Only 7 (or 8) Chevrons light up. There was some other thread about this, (nitpicking) with photos to show. So, whatever takes your fancy:P What SGA hasn't fixed is the incoming wormhole, as one chevron at the time would light up to an incoming wormhole. Of course in SG-1, this was solved by the stargate lighting up instantaneously. |

this has to be the best clip show that i've seen...it wasn't all focused on past episodes and like..it was when one of them was talking about something...and it's not like they focused on one scene for 2-5 minutes instead it was a lot of different clips put together which i found really enjoyable.
I have to say that Weir actually gave me a headache this episode, her voice grated on my ears...i think that she needs to change her tone. Teyla had more of a role but it seemed like she was angry or sulky but that's explainable because she was upset about the culling which was about to happen. A military officer filming people? well, i guess there was nothing better for Ford to do. I think it was sweet how Sheppard did the...tape for sumners family and i think that for Weir to give it to a military officer, it was the right thing to do...for some reason it just seems fitting that the guy who took over military control after Sumner died, that he should then do the tape. Amanda Tapping said one word...Darnation, Gary Jones had more words than her! but i guess it's about time we saw her...the only one we haven't seen is Teal'c but how would he be brought into an episode? he has no exact role. Carson...hehe, how funny was it when he started crying and goes: I can't do this! He was a good part to watch. Mckay...well, he certainly knows how to babble on but did anyone say to him...Security clearance? he would have had to have known that there were some things that he wouldn't be allowed to say. I think that we finally saw some heartfelt emotion from him...with the message he filmed for his sister... I think we are actually starting to see some emotion from Atlantis and we are getting to know them a lot better. This episode made me cry a little bit... So...Are we all hinking John Sheppard has no family? |

QUOTE(nitesoul @ Jan 15th 2005, 3:35 PM) although we dont know the exact number of spare generators they have, mckay said they werent enough, thats why they also pluged in the pjs powersource(all but one of them i guess) i think he meant that when ford told zelenka that he shouldnt say anything classified, his camera was aimed at a highly classified naq generator behind zelenka, i didnt notice that though, have to watch it again I don't know - highly classified? Says who? Secondly, if you look at the generator in that clip it doesn't look like anything more than a piece of science equipment - maybe for studying atoms or something. A person who doesn't even know that naq gens exist wouldn't know this was anything of that nature in particular... Looks like a piece of science equipment, nothing more.. Hell, it could be a new version of the JVC KaboomBox for all we know |

QUOTE(PAL @ Jan 16th 2005, 5:25 AM) If anything is used up at all, it would be the naquada fuel. If they brought 6 original generators with them, then surely they brought more naquada incase they needed to refuel them. Infact, the component Sheppard removed from the generator in The Eye probably contained the naquada fuel. QUOTE(dr_n_tesla @ Jan 13th 2005, 2:33 AM) Here's an idea, once the energy in a generator has been consumed perhaps the generator can be reused? Have a look at the picture attached and you may see why they will still have working generators after this event. I mean what do you do when your camera's batteries run out? You bring out the spares right? ![]() |

The episode was good. Its good to know that Earth learns about the Wraith from the message.
By the way did anyone notice that when Sheppard was dialing the gate to Atlantis from the planet, you hear him dialing 8 chevrons. He should have only dialed 7. |

QUOTE(Arcady @ Jan 11th 2005, 8:37 AM) One note: have these people ever heard of the pause or rewind button? How much DV tape can you waste? QUOTE(Linz @ Jan 11th 2005, 10:11 AM) One person interviewing 200 people. Give everyone ten minutes, and he'll need 2-3 days. And it's naive to think he's got the time to edit each recording afterwards, he'd surely need one more day. It's way too complicated to record all the material on continuous tapes first. Ford should either set a mark with the beginning of every new interview, and use the "return to mark" button on the camera with each new attempt. Or he should connect the camera to a computer, and start recording new video files each time, so that he can easily choose one file when the interview is over, and dismiss the others. It annoys me when the writers expect we're stupid. This post has been edited by ted_simple: Jan 19th 2005, 7:05 AM |

But she could be American or Canadian or one of the other countrys that are in the know and be with the team. reminber not all countrys know about the stargate program. and yes she was very funny. i got a kick out how Mckay can't see whats right in front of him. Teyla has feelings!! But she's so wooden! She just wanted to save more of her people. They are so dumb though. Ship them to the Goa'uld they would make good hosts! LOL
Whoa, Sinicism overload! Oh well. It was a good EP. They are really building the suspense up for the finale. I wish we could have seen a little wraith butt kicking. Can't wait until "The Siege" |

Teyla seemed quite annoying in this episode.
And wouldn't Mckay know that basically everything he said was highly classified? and while it wouldn't matter that he was wearing his uniform he talked about the wraith. |

I think most of his messge would have been for the SGC only. They would show only the unclassified bits to his sister. |

QUOTE(Christy @ Jan 30th 2005, 5:24 AM) Yeah, I found her to be slightly annoying too. I Liked the different clips of all their messages and Weir sending messages to the familes of those KIA. But how the hell did Ford manage to get time to edit all of the messages? |

Haven't we got enough with Shepperd/O'neil. And her attitude, Damn was she beign annoyiong, if it weren't for them the people woun'dt have any warning. I knew i just knew that the family would bring friends with them. |

I really liked this. It was fun to watch everyone filming their messages home, but at the same time it was really scary to watch the culling, and I was impressed with the way they got both themes into the episode.
I really like episodes where we learn about characters like this- Mckay's message was so funny! "Anyway...returning to "Leadership". Ahem." How cute was Carson's message? He didn't want to make his mum cry, how sweet! I'm glad that Ford had something to do (even though it wasn't much). I like the guy, it's not fault he hasn't been given much to work with. I also really liked the end where they were all saying goodbye. And I loved Zelenka's (sp?) message when he was describing the city rising from the water, that was so cool! Someone said above that this ep made them cry...I was nearly crying too when Weir had to tell all the families about their dead relatives. That must have been so hard for her. Great ep, roll on next week! |

Finally the Wraith actually seemed like formidable foes. Up until this point the wraith have seemed like the crappest enemy evr. But after witnessing the hive ships and the culling the Wraith now seem formidable. Atlantis is going to crash and burn (and sink). Well except for the fact that everyone will be saved at the last moment.

I really enjoyed this episode and getting to see them send messages to there families was great. McKay was just great as usual and you knew that in the end he would come out of his shell and say something for his sister which was really heartfelt. Ford and Carson were brillient and Zelenka was great.
Teyla didn't ennoy me i got the feeling that this had sometign to do with her father as she anted to save her fathers friend but i guess we'll find that out in The Gift. This ep helped to build up tension and how scared they were as you don't get that from sg-1 often. i wish people would lay off Ford though and they whole thing of Sheppard/O'Neill as O'Neill is not as cocky as Sheppard And the comparissons of Teyla and Teal'c as Teal'c would have agreed with Ford about taking the ZED PM from that planet of children. I really liked this ep and am looking forward to the final. Atlantis has been great and i am so addicted thought this was a great first series and the show has great potential |

I liked this episode. Lots of action - good in my opinion. McKay was excellent. Loved the way he wantedto make himself look better than he was. Some of the messages were pretty touching. Only bit i didnt like was the message from the scientist with the greasy hair and ponytail. As if O'Neill would listen to a message like that. Overall a great episode.
