What do you think about Zelenka??

i reckon he is a pretty good character. works well with Rodney.... i esp like it when they argue together in scientific language and has evryone else confused

What do you think about his speeches in foreign language??

Well we can't really think much about them seen as most people on this forum can't understand his language.

Yeah, I have closed caption on and it doesn't have a translation, only "speaks in foreign language, LOL!

I think his speaches in foreign languages add to his character, showing that he CAN get pissed off and not physically show it. I would like to know, however, what he is saying.

Do we have a translator anywhere on the board? lol

I have been studying Czech for 7 years so I understand quite good. Some of his sentences are really interesting. If you remember the episode when the situation in Atlantis was severe and everyone was to make a short speech to their relatives (I am not sure about the name of that episode). Zelenka told about the city of Atlantis, about its diving, about the technologies they have found, about their enemies and then I think it was Ford asked him whether he had not said something that would be against the national security or something alike. Zelenka said no of course I think it was pretty funny.

So ... feel like filling us in on what he says in Duet?

I'm not sure but I think he was probably shouting instructions. Don't know exactly what he was saying though.

I couldn't even make out what his German assistant was saying when they utilized the Wraith dart in the beginning. The room was too noisy. They probably think nobody will listen anyway.

He says in duet something like: "So children, we have to finish it, come on, hurry up hurry up"

What he said translates exactly as:

So, ok kids, let's do it, go go go, we gotta finish this, c'mon let's start quickly.

Interesting, guess it would sound kind of stupid if it was said in English, lol.

I don't know about that, Unless you speak Czech then it's equally as daunting.

It's more likely that although he was speaking aloud, he was talking to himself. Unless the majority of Scientists could understand him. Since they will have been made up of many different nationalities then I don't think it's likely.

Although it's good to hear them speaking in their own native tongue. Sure there are no translations for people who don't speak that particular language, but it adds a realism effect to it. That part I like about it, even though there are times when I don't understand what's just been said.

I think Zelenka is a great character. I would like to see him and Wier get together, that way they could give him some story lines where he is not just McKays sidekick.

I don't know about Zalenka and Weir getting together, they seem like an unlikely match. Also, Zalenka is only a recurring character.

I don?t think they seem like an unlikely match, in ?The Brotherhood? when he is telling her that she is the loop, he clearly has crazy crush on her. Moreover, who said that just because he isn?t a buff manly man that he can?t get some action from a sophisticated lady like Wier, but I guess I?m just a romantic at heart.

And I think he should be more than a recurring character

i adore him he's wonderful, he's so sweet and really funny, especially his little crush on elizabeth, he's just the darned cutest thing ever

I don't see how he has this crush on Elizabeth? He complimented her once, I think. I don't see how this is a crush, lol.

You are missing all the body language and the nervous schoolgirl vibe he was giving off while alone with her. He is so in to her!

Not seeing it????? How can you miss it, did you not see ep. 16. It's all there, I can't be crazy and just seeing things.

But even if you can't see it, dont you think it's a good idea for them to get together?

Then he can have a bigger part in the show. Everyone seems to like him; so far anyway.

Yah well, I just can't picture Weir and Zalenka going around Atlantis holding hands, lol.
