The Genii's tech is like70 years behind our own...except for maybe thier guns...so i wouldn't concider them "big thinkers"...what they have is a general plan of action...but they have no real idea on how to pull it off!

It's not been revealed yet, but if the Ancients seeded life then some members of their race also must have it. Of course it's possible that they somehow find out about Beckett & his being able to artificically impose it on people. Maybe they want a piece of the action.

For the ZPM that seriously can't be the one that's currently being used in Atlantis. My guess is that it's the one from 'The Brotherhood', they were after that & also had spies on the planet. So it's possible that they found out the location & went there & managed to steal it.

The PJ's are probably ones that they want to take from Atlantis in exchange for the hostages. Can't see them giving them to the Genii though.

They could have all this cleared up in a jiffy though. However if they did then there'd be no episode. I bet they have Daedalus back in the MW on another supply run. They could simply have sent her over & beamed everything up.

One thing that gets me though, it these are supposed to be highly trained soldiers. So how can they managed to get captured. They were supposed to be a strike force sent in to rescue their comrades. Yet end up managing to be captured themselves by an inferior species. It's times like this that you wonder where all the Navy seals & Delta Force are being hidden.

well when the genii took over Atlantis they some how figured out what they were doing faster the original Atlantis team, so maybe they stole some info from the ancient data base; they did it with the hive ship. Combine that with their impressive ability to gain intell and they might be able to pull it off.

Why bother with C4???

Use the Daedalus to put a nuke in their asses.

Or use it to beam out all their brains!! :)

sorry Weiland that would only work if the genii HAD brains. Jeez, ive hated these guys since we first laid eyes on them. It was a good idea to have Colm Meaney cast as their leader though, it was an interestin opportunity to see him in a slightly more sinister role than in TNG.
Anyway, you'd think Weir would just authorise the dedalous(SP) to use every adantage they have to obliterate the Genii's plans. EG, beam in/out, nuke them, etc. Or maybe get a fix on the attcking soldiers and beam them in front of their families as theyre about to shoot.

Just a thought.... whistling.gif

EDIT:
Or perhaps send sheppard in a cloaked puddle jumper right into their city and start blowin up their factories and all that.

WTF?

Beam innocent people in front of the men as they fire? First off that is a dumbass, fu**ed up ideal. Second of all it is an illegal order and no sane person would follow it. If they could beam the family members in why not just beam the attack soldiers into space?

This looks good. I said during season 1 that the Genii had the potential to be a very good "bad" guy, or if Weir's people could make them, a good ally.

I love the Major Lorne is still around. Now here is someone that is second in command to Sheppard, just as Ford was, but he's not a boring character. I love Lorne.

Correction, LT. Ford was NOT second in command to MAJOR Shepard.

There were other Majors and captains in the expedition.

I dunno about that....I don't recall anyone else during season 1 being refered to as Major or Captain....plus Lt. Ford was always Sheppard's go-to man dry.gif

In season 1, Ford was the next ranking officer. That doesnt seem correct though IMO. Originally Sheppard wasnt going to go through the gate, that means Colonel Sumner's next highest ranking officer would have been Lt Ford. Surely that is not realistic? Sumner must have had other officers in his team.
In 'The Seige' more officers came through with Everett (Major Lorne and a Captain) and others arrived with Daedalus (Lt Cadman).

I agree that Ford was Sheppard's second in command. I also agree that if Sheppard hadn't gone, Ford would have been Sumner's second in command. That makes no sense. I'm thinking, and I don't have the means to look (don't have the dvds), that some of the military people were killed during the attack that took Sumner. Maybe some of them were Captains, Majors, etc. They now have other military men that came with Caldwell also.

I think there were some other members killed in the problems they first had and did Shepoard replaced
another major?

No. Weir wanted him on the expedition because he had a strong Ancient gene.

My apologies for going slightly off topic here, and doing it so stupidly, but i've just realised today that Major Lorne was in Enemy Mine. I hadn't realised that before. oops.gif bangin.gif

Anyway to go back on topic throughout S1 i thought that bates was the second in command of atlantis' military componant and that LT ford was the second in command of the team.
