Liked this episode, they managed to do something; blow up one hive ship. And we got to see the awsome power of Ancients technology. We also see that theirs is far more advanced then the wraiths.
It was only the damage on the satalitte that gave us a second episode. Looking forward to the ending.

I specially liked the scene where Sheppard shot the wraith and Ford gave a small protest. But when he finished him off, after all the "smalltalks" noone said a word.

grodin, nooooo, that guy grew on me like siler and walter did, just wont be the same without him

anyway, i cant believe how dark the show has become, the genii massacre during "the eye" was dark but at least you didnt see their faces and you knew it was a matter of survival, if those 60+ genii made it in all was lost, but the way shepperd killed bob was just so wrong, he was caged and his threat factor was reduced to zero, you expected him to be treated like steve was, i guess i'm just not use to the good guys being so shady

the whole convo between weir and haling(sp?) was also a nice touch, as well as weirs being guilted into trying to save the database

talk about a cliffhanger though, at this point i think everybody already knows reinforcements are on the way from earth, but theres no mention of that here, cant wait to see how they pull that off

Timeline-wise is that "The Siege" takes place after SG1's s8 finale "Mobius"

Might be a bit strange to watch the Atlantis finale first before the SG1's finale doesn't air for maybe a few more weeks on SkyOne.

But all in all.. Good episode.. And I hope they don't kill off Dr. Zelenka so easily, he's pretty funny working with McKay.. Just like Dr. Beckett (which I heard was going to be in the opening credits next season)

i was glad to see that they found out that the ancients technology was more advanced than the wraits... but the wraiths had more numbersand thats why they fell.. sad.gif i liked the weapon they used... shame it was only one shot crying.gif

also it was supprising that with all the hard drives they brought and that compression software that they have, they can only take 7-9% of the ancients database.. sad.gif

i only just found out that there are reinforcements comming to atlantis via ship.. but like nitesoul said there is no indication of them commin in either shows so far... (i no that the last episodes of SG-1 is about saving atlantis..)

Well I'm getting the part 1 of the finale and I so glad that the english guy will die! God did I hate him after mocking Sheppard with that smirk after the Major got told off by Weir in "Hot Zone".

Damn, this episode was way too short - yes, time is relative, but face it, it went by quick.

Your not kiding i,am in Canada so we get SGA first and S8 SG-1 doesn't start till Feb 10 on Space. (don't think its played on any other chanel yet)

I don't like spoilers but i can't help feel i'am missing out on understanding the big picture. Confuzzled.gif

spoiler board here i come................ 1.gif

This ep builds on how much they are screwed if they don't catch a break.
the part with Bob, it was obivous that Sheppard wasn't going to get anything from him, so y not get out some anger and let Teyla have a break from feeling them all the time. Bob just had to Die.

Actually, Bob was still a threat. He was an enemy saboteur, which to me right there, means he should be killed. Plus, he tried to kill Shepperd mad.gif

And killing off Grodin....Man, that was harsh... He was one of the funnier guys who sat around and did stuff that was otherwise pointless. Plus, we need someone to point out the obvious.

Can't wait for the next episode

Great episode!

Yeah, they better not ever kill off Zelenka mad.gif Kill the guy with the ponytail who was constantly *****ing about the others! I really love Zelenka's and McKay's bickering.

I think I'm going to wait until after Moebius to watch part 2...The spoiled peeps seem to imply that Earth will somehow be playing a role in it...

Haven't watched all the episode yet because I'm watching Stargate SG-1 ("Reckoning, Part 1") and Atlantis ("Before I Sleep") on Sky One.

But I'm going to watch the season 1 finale of Atlantis then catch "Moebius" to explain how the team and ship arrived at Atlantis, besides it doesn't matter the order cos it will still make sense.

At last, finish watching the episode and wow is all I could say, even though I didn't Peter, the way he died was a noble one should have said, "oh crap", instead of "i'm sorry"

Someone please explain to me why the wraith in Atlantis can't telepathically tell the wraith on the hive ship information? Such as all about atlantis and that he had been found out etc....

If Telya can get information from the wraith on the hive ships and they can take over her from there, why can't the wraith on atlantis simply relay information to the wraith on the hive ships?

I was thinking the same thing.
When Weir was annoucing that they were defenceless against the Wraith after the satalite was destroyed and were going to evacuate I thought surely the Wraith could telepathically tell the other 2 ships what Weir said and then they would just attack straight away instead of waiting to rethink their strategy.

If Teyla could connect to the Wraith in the Hive ships last week, Bob could definitely just tell them whatever he wanted. I expected Sheppard to kill him sooner so he couldn't communicate anything, but instead they seemed to disegard that fact and they just stood their while Weir was announcing their plans.

I have to DL these as they are not even being shown in Australia yet. Just got ep119 and could not resist having a sneak peak with my wife looking over my shoulder.

The ponytail bloke should have been the bloke in the satellite but he is probably hiding somewhere cowering in fear!

Looking forward to seeing part 2. Great to be able to see some quality SF now along with SG1

cheers

Mike

I enjoyed this episode. I thought we would have heard from Earth at the very end, but we didn't! They have a lot to resolve in 42 min next Monday! However I?m sure they will leave some kind of cliffhanger to lead us into season 2. The ancient weapon was very cool too bad the wraith destroyed it. I'm sure it had powerful shields but because they used the Naquadah generator to specifically power the weapon they probably didn't have enough juice to power the shields. Too bad!

Looking forward to the final episode!

We love Atlantis!!! bow.gif

you forget that, wraiths can send information telepatically. What makes you certain that a caged wraith cannot send intel to the motherships? Again, it's a matter of survival. If he was mad, then so be it, but i dont think it was the sole reason why he shot the wraith. It could also be a security threat, and sheppard kept his explanation to himself. [as he always does, unless mckay is around]

They should set a trap for the wraith - trick the wraith into thinking the alpha site is at that planet where that hot ancient chick is on and she'll blast the crap outa them... these wrath have supposedly been traveling for a long time so they wouldn't know about that planet's defenses...

i never said he couldnt, i'm sure up until that point he was still sending information, they mentioned that bit about not detecting bob sending any transmissions to the hiveships while he was on the city, well thats how he would have done it, and i'm pretty sure that once they remember that, telya will be comepletely vinidcated of leaking out info to the wraith

but all in all it doesnt change the fact that once he was caught and stuffed in a cage he couldnt find out any new intel on them that he hadnt already given the out to the wraith, and why didnt he tell the hiveships what weirs anouncment to the city was? well hes was stuned with the wraith gun a few times and was being shot to death by shepperd, its seems bob would be a little too distracted

bottom line, shepperd tortured bob for info to the point of bobs death, the sgc never did that with any of the goa'uld they held, heck the nid even remained civil toward the conrad symbiot(not that they havent resorted to torture), its shepperd crossing the line or at least bluring the normal conventions of the good guy(i'm in no way saying that i dont like the darker aspects the show is taking, just surprised)
