Talk about "ripped from the headlines". Has anyone seen that new History Channel show "Coming Home Alive"? Sat. 9pm: "The kidnapping of a geologist". Certainly a cliffhanger, though.

Looks like we lost all of the posts for this episode...oh well. I liked the episode a lot...except for the kidnapping part. The second parter is so predictable.

The super soldier was pretty cool, though. I can't wait to see how that turns out.

I don't know, but they have a couple to experiment on. They are also close to finding the source of them. If you remove the source, then we don't have to worry about killing them.

The arm bands are gone. SG-1 didn't bring them back with them. They left them on the ship that was destroyed. Besides, they worked by infecting the wearer with a virus that enhanced the body and once they produced an antibody, the armbands would never work on them again. Since the symbiote would prevent infections, Jaffa and Goa'uld and Tok'ra are immune too.

This would only leave other humans (maybe Asguard? alien.gif ) to use the armbands to an advantage. How would these defeat a SS? They could run around him very fast and hit him hard, but bullets (which have a much greater lb per sq in impact) don't hurt them at all, I'd be doubtful if the arm bands would have the desired effect either... Maybe? hypocrite.gif

I got the impression that the Tok'ra had more of these armbands other than the ones they brought to the SGC... of course this may not be true, it just seemed like it from the way that Anise was talking and I don't remember her saying that the ones they put on SG-1 were the ONLY ones.

I agree that I don't see many ways the armbands would help though except for evasion of super soldiers. Maybe they could destroy them with their strength though... ripping off the armour and killing them. I haven't seen the episode, only read spoilers so I don't know if this is even feasible.

Possible, but they would have to have a team of suicide volunteers. Going into an area with a lot of SS with a device that will quit and render you unconcious without warning is not a survivable scenario.

Anise did say: "That is why I brought only three" when it was brought up that having a symbiote prevented them from being used.

I have seen it again and I am very sad of what O'Neill say when they are captured... It's not funny!!

But, I am waiting for the second part like everybody to have a real idea of this episode!

Just a quick question, How were the team dynamics in this episode? I haven't seen season seven yet but from what I've heard the team dynamics and storyline has become absolutely low quality.

From where I'm standing the first good episode in Season seven could be this one and I'm hoping that the show is getting itself back together, and hopefully O'Neill had over 20 seconds of show time in this episode.

I hope they don't kill Dr. Lee... all his lines in the ep were perfect...

Daniel: Look for a totem or a marker, anything that will tell us which way to go. (Lee and the guide just stare at him.) Go!

Lee: (Hurries off screen. Thudding noise.) I found it! (From inside the temple.)

******

Lee: There's no writing... There's always writing, isn't there?

I love Dr. Lee! I'm also happy that he survived "The Prodigy" because I like the actor who plays him (I know guests on the X-Files, too). I hope he survives this episode, too!

But I also agree that SG-1 as a whole isn't as prominent in season seven, and that could be because RDA has a reduced filming schedule so he can be with his family. I think his role has become more cliched (wouldn't he hate that). He seems to have very few (comparatively) lines, and when he does, they're generally all sarcastic ones. And while I have nothing against his sarcasm, it seems to be all he has left any more. Jack's my favorite character, and he's fading away!!! crying.gif

Yeah according to Gateworld Prometeus (Season six) left a bigger cliffhanger in the middle of the season then Evoloution, but I think it was pretty good.

I thought this one was kinda interesting. Bra'tac & T being somewhat puzzled by the supersoldier was wink.gif

Also, he's the same old Danny! Spacemonkey isn't safe anywhere. (not even on his homeworld fer cryin' out loud, this one proves that) *G* I can't help but love him.

I wonder: Is it possible Danny might break a bone in part II? I sincerely hope they don't kill him (again), though I think we're safe on that bet wink.gif

They pretty much can't kill him in part 2 because it is as good as confirmed that Michael Shanks will be back in Season 8. If they killed him then they'd have to bring him back again which would be a BIG BIG mistake as it's been done so many times already rolleyes.gif

Here, here! Let's hope TPTB learned the lesson of Meridian...(That being, that SG-1 without Danny an' the talented guy that protrays him is lacking something *rare*) Aside: No, that doesn't mean I'd be opposed to Jonas returnin'. I'm biased, but I don't truly hate him. wink.gif

Anyone know what the American air date of part II is yet??

I can't wait!! cloud9.gif

It will be aired sometime in January - I don't think that an exact date has been given yet. Keep checking THIS THREAD as information will be posted there when it is available.

I thought it was a good cliffhanger, I really like to know what happens to Daniel and Dr. Lee.

Also, this supersoldier is pretty interesting, since the only Goa'uld we've seen experimenting on this kinda thing is Nirrti and she's dead! Now Anubis comes with this guy... I mean, what? He got the blueprints from the Ancients library or something? Weird... let's see how it plays out, shall we?

SPOILER

If you have seen the studio art from gateworld.net which they are auctioning off, 2 super soldiers can be seen which suggests that we probably won't stop them or at least not all of them.

the 2nd half is quite predictable since the picture arcady has for the ep clearly shows Dr. Jackson in the background alright and colonel O'neill clearly must have rescued him.
