I can't really say that i enjoyed this episode, i judt couldn't really get into i for some reason and i got called away not even half way through it so i cant say i've watched it all...and i can't make a fair judgement but i think that from what i saw of it...there have been a couple of good episodes so far but none of them have really popped out at me.

ok, If i presume that the ancients were the ones that built this em shield (assumption made because it is powered by a em field), then why didnt they build one in every city such that they had a bunker in which they could 'hide' when the wraith come??

Sorry, i just still find it hard to believe that the ancients can be beaten by the wraith despite their technological advantage

Good episode. I liked the bits between Mckay and Sheppard especially- the line about Mckay wanting to get his fair share of coffee before it runs out, so he drinks 11 cups a day laugh.gif
I didn't think the Genii were a very 'formidable' race to have as an enemy though. Mckay said they were about 60 years behind us technology-wise, so we've obviously got better weapons to defend ourselves with.
And I don't know why, but the Wraith really do scare me. When they were going around the Wraith facility I was actually pretty scared...and who else jumped when that arm came out of the wall? whistling.gif

I'd say quite a good episode overall..I think they should have a really dark episode though, like Stargate sometimes has, where someone gets captured and tortured..not that I'm morbid or anything.

Ummm......................................................................................................

Atlantis is getting repetitive!! I dont like taht fact, all there doing now is going out and meeting a new culture and theres something different about them, theyve done taht for 3 episodes in a row now!! But itll change next week i believe, itd better do.

My mam did.

Wasnt impressed with this episode. I dont know what it was but it just didnt get my full attention. I wasnt really interested in this episode. The pressure of writing two shows is now starting to show on Atlantis. The last few epsiodes havent been very good.

Off topic: In all honesty i look forward to monday nights now when Battlestar Galactica airs. Yes its only an hour but the stories are amazing along with the acting. Sitting through 2 hours of SG1 and Atlantis gets me bored now. I was easily distracted when watching Atlantis on tuesday.

I did! ohmy.gif
I also agree with Dafmeister about not being able to get into the episode. I don't know if it is down to the pressure of producing 2 shows simultaneously but the stories on Atlantis seem to be pretty much hit and miss upto now. The episodes in themselves are not particulary bad, just not "exciting". I always used to really look forward to watching Stargate but I have not developed that sort of "anticipation" for Atlantis- it does not help that I think the Wraith are rubbish- a very big anti-climax.
Back to the episode, Chief O'Brien played his brooding part pretty well and I can understand why everyone is pretty narked at the SG team for re-awakening the Wraith but to try and steal the PJ etc ..it just seemed too convenient to make the Genii "baddies"- will we ever make allies who have comparable levels of technology who want to "join" the battle against the Wraith?
A weak episode.
And as for the comment about BSG, it IS the highlight of the week now.(never thought I'd hear myself say that whilst SG was on sad.gif )

Just saw the episode and I did jump a bit with my dad because we have the lights off in the room to get a better effect and the sound on high.
I dont know why but that episode made me hate the Genii alot and im sure we will be seeing them again soon.?
and also did they have to use C4 for blowing up the tree stumps, surely they would have some other cutting device (chainsaw), although I presume that the Atlantis people wouldnt of needed that.
Im surprised they didnt become allies,
Genii cant want another enemy? although there greed and jelousy for the SA weapons got in the way.

I liked this ep the whole Mcay and Shepard thing is really funny.
However I think the whole team looked a bit out of control in this one.......shepard cloud9.gif was a bit in control but Mcay kept sayin stuff n then Teyla said all tht stuff n then Dr wier was all stressed n...we ll I don't know I'm just rambling now! but i guess wot I'm tryin to say is.....hang on what am i trying to say???

I just got one little nitpick that i didn't want to start a new topic about in the Nitpick section.

When McKay was coming back from the gate and had radiation readings on his little scanner, why did it lead him to the hatch. Wouldn't it lead him to a the area above where they where making the atomic bomb?

i thought he was just picking up energy readings and not radiation, but i could be wrong, i'll have to watch that again

but a possible explaination in either case is that since the whole underground facility is sheilded(to prevent the wriath from picking them up on scanners), the only place mckay could have picked up the readings is from the entrance hatch(someone goes in or out in a hurry and doesnt close it properly or whatever)

it was a weak episode and i think that they shared their information too readily and Sheppard shouldn't have told them as much as he did.

And them going on the wraith ship so quickly...i was suprised that they did that and all in one episode...it could have spanned two but it was nice how they fit it all in.

Yep, Atlantis's first enemy. I sometimes believe these guys are worse than the wraith. But anyways, the rest of it was good, seeing how advanced the Genii were compared to their counterparts on the land.

Hope to see more of the Genii

The genii seem to be weak and they're putting on a front...this is a race which has no real clue...they've battled the wraith so many times and they think that they can get into a wraith ship by themselves?

Not really liking this enemy

Hmm...an arrogant, egotistical, over confident enemy. Now where have seen that before.
The Genii are going to be around for a while IMO. The wirters cant keep the Wraith as the main enemy for long.

Hopfully the Genii will become the main enemy a few seasons down the road.

It would be nice to see the Genii again.
But it's just that i liked Colm Meany (meanie?) a lot but it looks like he was only in those 2 episodes.
it would be good to have him back though.

i liked this episode, it was really well done.

i don't know why they(mcay/Sheperd) gave away so much information before they even got to know the genii, mcay told them all they needed to know about how to build a working atomic bomb. sad.gif

i was good when mcay mentioned that he had built an atom bomb in the 6th grade and then was interegated by the CIA for 6 hours.

and when he said "what secret underground buncker?" whistling.gif

i jumped when that arm sprung out of the cocoon and that guy was such a loser for not letting tayla help and an even bigger loser when he shot the man witch by the way made the wraith aware they were there and thats what he didnt want to happen.

i liked it when they came back through the gate and the genii point lots of guns at them and then sheperd tells the jumpers to take point and two decloak right above them and he says "you really didn't think we had just one did you?" that was great. biggrin.gif

looking forward to the next episode 'home'.

I wish they'd give Shepard some less cliched lines. Like when he said "I don't trust them as far as I can throw them" and when he answered "Same here" when Colm Meany said that the Genii wouldn't be a good enemy. huh.gif That's just lazy writing. They shouldn't give ALL the good lines to McKay.

Mckay's been given the funny guy character.
I'm glad they changed mckay slightly when he came over from SG-1...he's more adorable now.

Shep has some good lines it's just that they're less noticeable and he's not meant to be funny....just adorable. Eye Candy.
