Is he always like that?
Pretty much. McKay is brilliant in Atlantis compared to SG1. He is still self-absorbed and arrogant but it is in a funny way.

you would think that the ancients made the stargte and the jummper they would have some kind of safty sys to prevent just that. I dont get it why the wairth would just walk away you think it would either feed on him to or at least make shure that shepard would die

The Ancients couldnt have created a safety system to protect against that happening because it happened due to the damage systained by the Jumper.

Can anyone lip read? About 6 minutes in, when Weir asks how they got stuck in the event horizon and before Ford answers, we can hear Rodney says 'Engine Pods'. There are more words before that that seem to be muted out. What did he say?

Anyone?

He doesnt say anything before it. He is just sighing because he is losing patience.

Here if you ever want to know what a person says in an Episode just go here and read the transcript for the scene.

I liked this epi, I think David Hewlett is great actor when Mckay is doomed.

Ok i don't know if this was talked about but and if it was oops but in The Torment of Tantalus in season one of sg1 Dr. Ernest Littlefield is shown going in the stargate with a air line hooked to his suit and when the gate is closed the tube is cut but he is ok on the far side of the gate so it seems that the writers have changed the rules of the gate or the front of the ship should come out on the far side of the gate when it closed.

That is a question best posted in the Torment of Tantalus thread.
