The schematic of Daedalus reminded me of an old Playstation game I used to have. ( X-Com)

Hang on, let me get up to speed. Hermod is the Asguard? Sorry, I've just seen so much speculation on who it will be (favourite as far as I can tell would have been Loki). I've not heard of Hermod before. Great pic

I only posted them up here & the writers give away more spoilers than anything else. Besides I have a big ass dog they'd have to get past first before they even got to the door in the first place, Should they get past him then I'm off to the land of OZ & you can harbour me as a spoiler fugitive.
Martin Gero has already said about no Goa'uld in Atlantis & Joe Mallozzi has also said that there will be a lot less Goa'uld story arcs this season. Basically they have been the top dogs for 8 years & now it's time to take it in a different direction with new enemies. Not to say that they Goa'uld are completely finished, Just that they will be taking a back seat for the time being & not be the main focus of the show. They aren't gone completely just in the bakground licking their wounds. Having looked at the spoiler pics from TS3 where you see Ford holding a gun in the medical bay & Runner where Ford has managed to escape Atlantis through the StarGate. In my opinion, I'm 99% certain that the Intruder is Ford. |

is it me or is the entrance to the bridge on the right?
on the prometheus it's on the left i guess TPTB wanted to show that it's a totally different ship i'm gonna enrage a load of people here BUT i don't really think that Weir (or torri higginson) is that hot actually. yeah she's quite 'easy on the eyes' but i don't think she is all that looking at a couple of pics of some of the new female characters in SGA then there's gonna be a few very good looking women appearing. all i have to say to that is= |

It's possible that they chnged things about, but I think that they may have simply added in an extra one.
Weir is not a babe or anything near that. Out it this way if I was getting a free shot, I wouldn't turn it down. Besides Doc Lee, Why do you think Thomas Edison invented the light switch. Click for Spoiler |

Is it just me that thinks recycling a storyline, and even admitting it, is weak? After reading that, I started losing interest in this episode. I'll still watch it, of course, but I lost a certain exhuberance about it...

I honestly thought Ford. Now this explains why Caldwell is heard telling Weir that he wants his ship back in the season 2 teaser that has been floating around.
The problem here, is Atlantis is a new show. So almost all possible scenarios have been done to death many times over on SG-1 & all other sci-fi shows combined. Therefore it's difficult to come up with a truly original idea. Since finding this out it's lessend my enthusiasm for this particular ep ever so slightly. Other than the fact that this could be an indication that Wraith ships are biogenic & when it detected that it was about to be destroyed, it jumped ship & downloaded itself into the next available thing... Daedalus. (Presumably only because of the Asgard systems that would be advanced enough to hold it.) It's pretty obvious that they will purge/kill it somehow before the end of the ep or sometime in the next one 'Runner'. Otherwise they won't be flying back & forth to the MW on supply runs, With a Wraith virus still in tow that could be relaying all kinds of info back. It seems like a clone of 'Duet' to me, things being downloaded into other things, with the exception that 'Duet' seems to be far more comedic in nature. Every subsequent series of Star Trek re-used stories taken from the original. |

I acknowledge the difficulty of coming up with enough original ideas, but there are a lot of writers out there. If the ones you got can't get it done, get some new ones. That being said, when the writer is also an executive producer (as in this case) you kinda have to go along with it... |

Giving three different writers the same plot outline and seeing where they each end up can be fun. |

New plot details have arrived for "The Intruder," the second episode of Stargate Atlantis's new season!
Beware of spoilers below!!! "A mysterious intruder has infected the Dadealus's computers with a virus that may allow them to take control of the ship. "When a scientist is killed in the Daedalus's computer room, McKay (David Hewlett) first believes the poor circuitry is at fault. However, when another scientist is killed while investigating the death, McKay begins to suspect that someone -- or something -- is deliberately planning these breakdowns. "Soon after, McKay is alerted to a virus on one of the ship's computers. When he runs its code through a translator, he is shocked to discover that it is written in Wraith. Even worse, he learns that the virus has the ability to re-write itself, making it seemingly impossible to conquer. Realizing that the program's capability to mutate has virtually given it a mind of its own, McKay worries that the Wraith may use the virus to take control of the ship -- with potentially deadly results. "As feared, the virus's artificial intelligence soon takes control of the Daedalus's auxiliary ships, and the crew becomes increasingly powerless to defend themselves. Fearing that the Wraith will use the Daedalus's advanced features to attack Atlantis, McKay and Sheppard (Joe Flanigan) race against the clock to counteract the virus before the Wraith turn the Daedalus's advanced technology against the city." Based on the fact that the Daedalus obviously takes out the first wave of wraith ships (2 Hives...9 cruisers...thousands of darts)...and this : "before the Wraith turn the Daedalus's advanced technology against the city."
- I would say that the Daedalus is sounding to be one HELL of a ship!!! Imagine an earth built ship that has enough technology to threaten Atlantis!!!! |

Well if the ship is already inside of the city's shield and they can't move the ship out, almost anything would be a threat. |
