Since it only surpress' the appearance of the Wraith, couldn't the Wraith themselves use this to infiltrate Atlantis?

QUOTE(Alosel @ Aug 9th 2005, 10:21 AM) Since it only surpress' the appearance of the Wraith, couldn't the Wraith themselves use this to infiltrate Atlantis? I don't think that would be the case because first of all I think a Wraith would never agree to transform into a Human and having their memories erased in the process. Also, there is a chance the other Wraith would feed on the transformed Wraith once his mission was complete. |

It seems to be far too early for them to be doing this. It's only mid-way through the second series, yet they have managed to develop a counter agent to the transformation process. I'd have personally perfer something like this be sent out in the 3rd or 4th series. Although since they are then it'll probably turn out to be a spectacular failure. Else there really wouldn't be any more Wraith, since they would mass produce it & use it on all the Wraith.
Although one good thing is that this is what they will probably use on Ford. I was worried that because of the eye thing that they would have perhaps killed him off or had him turned into a full wraith. |

This is disturbing. Of course, since it's only the second season, this drug cannot be safe and 100% effective. There has to be some major side effects that they have not experienced yet. The fact that he still feels the wraith tendencies is a huge side effect. I wonder if this is from the wraith enzyme that Ford is taking.

I don't think so, I mean they wouldn't really be fully transformed into a human if they could still suck the life out of people. |

The spoilers say that the vaccine suppresses the Wraith DNA, so I'm guesing that means if a Wraith is given the vaccine he no longer has the ability to drain the life from a human. The vaccine also causes amnesia so the "Wraith" wouldn't know that he/she wanted to feed. |

The Drug doesn't last forever though, what are they gonna do infect an entire hive ship, and then they have a bunch of humans with amnesia that they need to treat the drug to, this drug screams failure unless Dr. Beckett can make it permanent, and supress the Wraith urges.

no they turn em all into humans, then beam em all off the ship, onto a planet with no stargate....and no equipment.... then nuke it......yes.....
or they further the drug, until they can "cure" the wraith....... |

Here is what i see happening.
They use this bioweapon on the Wraith, reverting them into "humans" then beam them down to a dead planet that the Wraith had culled...On the planet's surface they have "treatment" centers set up and as the "humans" wake up with amnesia. Wier and the gang tell them that the Wraith used a new kind of weapon that would cull the cities faster but the weapon failed and left all the "humans" on that world sick with a form of radiation poisoning and that the weapon caused thier memories to be erased. Then Weir tells them that they need daily injections in order to keep the radiation at bay or they'll die. Thus we see the end of the Wraith....until season 4 or 5 when we find out that some of those people are starting to become immune to the drug and reverting to thier wraith form......but then again....i could be wrong.... |

There may be a hint of who has been cast as 'Michael'.
Supposedly 'Trip' told fans at the Star Trek Creation Convention in Las Vegas at the weekend that he has been cast in an upcoming Atlantis episode as a character named Michael. Actor Connor Trinneer, aka Charles "Trip" Tucker from Star Trek: Enterprise. |

Actor Connor Trinneer, aka Charles "Trip" Tucker from Star Trek: Enterprise. Yes, I was at the convention and Connor Trinneer did confirm his role. It originally was to be a 2-3 episode recurring role for the remainder of the season, but due to the future birth of his baby boy, he would only commit to one episode. He is optimistic that his character will be reprised next season and is very excited about working on Atlantis. |

OMG, this is so cool. I love "Trip", in fact he was the best part about Enterprise. I hope he does return to do more than one episode. And Em, we are so sharing him!
