News on a new episode named, "Hot Zone" from GateWorld is released!
Here's the link for the pics: http://www.gateworld.net/atlantis/s1/1x4.shtml This episode by what is seen by the pics looks pretty interesting, I find the pic with Teyla and Sheppard sparing quite cool. |

I'm just curious, isn't it hard to type like that? I remember someone on IMDB writing like that and it just seemed it would be so slow unless you had some program capitalizing all the letters for you. |

nanites sound too sg-1ish.
this episode sounds to be a good one...i think i might be seeing it soon. but it makes you wonder if we'll be seeing sg-1 things in Atlantis even though they wanted to seperate the two series. |

rodney recieved the ATA gene therapy, even though it failed it changed him enough that the nanites didnt kill him, why it doesnt kill ancients or those with their genes? i'm still scratching my head on that

It did work, didn't it? Hence him being able to use the personal shield. It's possible the virus was created by the ancients to kill all of the humans except the ancients, thereby killing off the wraith's "easy" food source. It'd be a lot harder for the wraith to defeat an ancient ship and eat its crew than munch away on a planet of humans for a few months, don't you think? Reducing the wraith's food supply would have been a last-resort type battle tactic on the side of the Ancients... adam. |

i think he turned it off before the emp fired(in the sci fi world that means its protected even though it should have been completely fired) and turned it back on afterwards

I dont know if this has already being discussed. but its the exact same story as halo (the xbox video game) The fore runners (ancients) made the halo (nano virus) as a wepon to kill the flood (wraith) by destroying their food supply.
In plain english.... The ancients created the nanno virus as a last resort to killing the wraith. if the wraith dont eat after a long time they will die so if the ancients released the virus everyone would be killed (except the ancients because it wont kill anyone with the ancient gene) and the wraith would die. This is the exact same story line in halo and halo 2... |

I am pretty sure that the Nano virus was created as weapon against the wraith
(It was meant to kill humans because humans are Wraiths main food source) But I don't agree that the Ancients made the virus... I believe it was made by some other specie that live or did live in pegasus (And I believe that this same race is also the reason why pegasus was "dead" when the Ancients arrived...) |

Its really hard to believe the Ancients would sanction the creation of a virus with such extreme consequences- unless as poited out it is some kind of last resort- which seems likely as no one said anything about the virus ever being released previously. Its not really their style though- i mean the ancients have technology which can destroy the wraith without killing all humans- its like some kind of religious cleansing i wouldnt think the ancients would support that esp seeing as after ascending their main rule is not to get involved in human problems!!!!
