Apparently the schematic that was in Moebius was not the finished design. They had filmed Moebius when they hadn't had a final configuration in mind for Daedalus yet. They are supposed to be almost 2 entirely different ships not only with more advanced tech but also in that it'll be bigger & far more sleeker with her own unique design.

That seems a hell of a cock up. They didnt really have to mention the Daedalus in 'Moebius'. Perhaps they put those schematic for the Daedalus in 'Moebius' so that we would be suprised by what the Daedalus really looks like. The only thing is that McKay has also called it the Prometheus' sister ship. That would mean it has to be the same design as the Prometheus. |

I thought so too when I originally saw the schematic in Moebius. Then after hearing McKay say in 'The Siege II' that it was the sistership. I thought that basically same ship but a couple of bits more extra tech integrated into it.
However Martin Gero said it will be Quite Bigger & have a unique design. Then I stumbled across another Thread talking about the differences between Prometheus & Daedalus, It was mostly people swinging in the dark like we do here when nothing has been confirmed for definite. Then one of the mods came along & said they had already seen it. Here's a Direct quote from his post. QUOTE The two ships will be almost entirely different. Already seen it on Gateworld.

Can't see one of the shows writers & guys at Gateworld who have actually seen the Artwork for Daedalus & not noticing the exact same striking resemblence to Prometheus. sum 1 (not sure who but some 1 high up says) aurora on atlantis mmmm not exactly (or sumen to that effect) this to me inplys atlantis is aurora aurora is its atlantian name this is prolly jst wild speculation but atlantis is a ship so who nows... |

Aurora is an Ancient ship, this has already been known for a fair while now. When they come across it the ship will be full of Ancients.

Sorry I diddnt see that............WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! This is the greatest! Maybe they will see our advanced ship (Daedalus) and recognise that we can get this war going again - this time our way!!!! You guys reckon they are all in stasis pods or something??? I reckon that the last thing they will remember is that Atlantis was under attack - and they made a blind jump into space.......went to sleep and never woke up - till now....WOW! They will return to Atlantis and say - damn you guys did allright!!! Even we coiuldnt take that many ships!!!!! (well maybe not that - but its gonna be a sweet episode) |

Can't see them being alive though! It'd make things far too easy, since they know how to make ZPM's, Drones + all the other advanced Ancient tech that's out there.
A few possibilities are that they are in stasis & some get revived by Shep's team, Then the others come & ascend them with all the bright glowy lights & soppy music & all that other stuff. They realised that they weren't gonna make it. So downloaded their minds/memories into the ships computers before the power went out or they made Holographic images of themselves like Melia in 'Rising'. They were on an important mission in the battle against the Wraith, However their ship took damage or malfunctioned. They crash landed on a planet, They knew Atlantis wouldn't send help as it was a dangerous mission. So when they didn't hear back from them then the others would fear the worst & return through the gate to Earth. Those who were left on the ship had no choice but to start a new life on this planet with the ship as their home. As the years pass generations have lived & died on the Ship. The team come across the latest generation, They seem friendly at first, So McKay helps repair the ship. Then they find out that Shep's team are from Atlantis. When he offers to take them back to the city then to start a new life on the mainland with the Athosians. They see this as an insulkt as it was their actual ancestors who built the city. They demand the SGA team turn the city over to them as it is rightfully/legally theirs, Shep refuses & the threats start. A battle breaks out & Shep's team are far outnumbered. So they retreat to the Jumper & fly off. The Ancients start up Aurora & give chase. The worst seems to be about to happen & the Jumper has taken damage & another hit will destroy it then Daedalus appears & asks them do they have a problem. The Ancient leader radios over to Shep that they haven't seen the last of each other as it's only beginning & the Ancients will return to their home & drive out the intruders. This option introduces a powerful new enemy in the show. Yes they are real Ancients as the original settlers were 100% Ancient from Atlantis. However over the past 10,000 years, Ancient knowledge has been passed down each through generation. However important stuff will also be lost to each as well. So they are technically powerful Ancients but don't have the full amount of knowledge. Now they have power & their ship working they can start to track down other Ancient tech in Pegasus & begin to rebuild their empire again. Which must start with removing the SGA team from Atlantis. Though I can see them going with the Ascending part or the download into the computer/holographic representations of them with important messages personal & also about their secret mission which involved a way to finally destroy the Wraith. It sounds a cool episode but if it's someone like Carl Binder who writes it ('Letters from Pegasus', 'Before I Sleep' then it'll be another soppy affair.) |

abot the daed. size - in siege pt.3 you see it flying under neath a hive ship - maybe my perspective is wrong but it looks like the wraith ship is almost 8 daed.'s put together?!

Ah well....I think i posted that before Siege part 3...but anyway your right...Hive ships are Massive!!! Im still hoping Aurora is about the size of The Daedalus or something.....just better be bigger than a damn puddle jumper!! |

I think the Aurora's mission was to put the lady who turns into a wraith on to a hive ship or cruiser so that they could spy or sabotage their whole fleet or something.
