Ta I think he is saying... What about the Tria, from Return Part 1? Here is an idea: The Asurans comandeer the Apollo, and use it to destroy the Daedalus. Course I could be wrong... my Gibberish is a bit rusty... |

its another ship too there fleet y would they care how powerfull it is?? Ok, it's another ship but it is a ship that is vastly inferior to anything they could build. So why would the Asurans want a ship that is inferior in every aspect to those they could build themselves? |

its not that stupid an idea, the replicators comandeered god knows how many goa'uld sheips, and they are a lot more inferior to any replicator ship!!!!

Yes but you are referring to the bug-like Replicators which acted on instinct (and a basic command to replicate) and took whatever they could find. The Asurans are capable of strategic thought and so wouldn't need to go to the trouble of capturing a less advanced ship, upgrade it and use it in battle when they could build their own more advanced ship. |

well thats just speculation, if the apollo goes ahead with its strategic strike and destroys the asuran fleet then desperate times calls for desperate measures.at the end of the day the bug like replicators were still being controlled by a human form replicator, whats the difference!

well thats just speculation, What is speculation? What I said is fact - the bug Replicators followed a basic command set by Reece and the Asurans are capable of individual thought and do not have to take over every ship they encounter.QUOTE at the end of the day the bug like replicators were still being controlled by a human form replicator, whats the difference! The original Replicators weren't being controlled by Human form Replicators until season 6. Before then they were controlled by Reece for a short time and before that they were following a command set by Reece to defend themselves and replicate. The Asurans know that Atlantis has access to Puddle Jumpers and drones and could easily destroy Apollo if it was used against Atlantis. |

thats got nothing to do with my point, if the apollo goes ahead and succeeds in its first strike and destroys the asuran fleet, then its completely feasable that they might take over a human ship, seeing as they've got none of their own ships left. the fact that they can build their own all singing, all dancing ships has got f*ck all to do with it.

So if Apollo suceeds you think the Asurans are going to go to the trouble to build a ship that can be used to board Apollo so they can steal it then waste time upgrading it?

its another ship too there fleet y would they care how powerfull it is?? The Milky Way replicators always ignored vastly inferior ships... they were rather like the Borg. They ignored the Prometheus because it was not advanced or unique or interesting and posed no threat to them. So if Apollo suceeds you think the Asurans are going to go to the trouble to build a ship that can be used to board Apollo so they can steal it then waste time upgrading it? If the Apollo succeeds.... won't they all be dead? If they can build a ship to attack and steal the Apollo... well.... to what end? Why would they do it? There is no logical purpose... Whether or not an Asuran plan to steal an Earth ship is feasible is irrelevent... they would not do it because they are able to build their own hsips and have no reason to take an Earth ship. |

If they can build a ship to attack and steal the Apollo... well.... to what end? Why would they do it? There is no logical purpose... That was my point. If the Apollo destroys the Asuran fleet, there is no reason for the Asurans to build a ship for the specific use of boarding Apollo so it can be stolen for their own use given how inferior it is to their own technology.Whether or not an Asuran plan to steal an Earth ship is feasible is irrelevent... they would not do it because they are able to build their own hsips and have no reason to take an Earth ship. |

who said anything about building a ship to board the apollo, they could simply do it as a last ditch attempt to survive.they're obviously going to have beaming tech or atleast rings aboard their ships.they could then then turn the apollo against us, element of surprise and all that.

How are they going to get aboard then?QUOTE they're obviously going to have beaming tech or atleast rings aboard their ships. Atlantis never had ring technology and the site to site transporters were only very short range, plus Apollo has shields and a person cannot transport/ring abord when shields are up. |

wrong, you can ring onboard a ship when the shields are up.its been done so many times in the past. They have done it once and that was only because the shield frequency of a Goa'uld ship had been altered to allow a ring transporter beam. Since the Alterans wouldn't know what frequency Apollo's shields were operating at they couldn't ring in. Of course, they would need ring transporter technology to begin with, they don't have it so it is a moot point. |

daniel managed to ring aboard the ori ship too don't forget.so if the asurans haven't got the old ring tech, what have they got. can't remember seeing any kind of transporter of ancient design, other than those within atlantis!

daniel managed to ring aboard the ori ship too don't forget. That was because the shields on the Ori ship were fluctuating because they were firing their weapons. Under normal circumstances, he wouldn't have been able to ring aboard. It was the same as when Odyssey beamed Daniel and Vala from the Ori ship in 'Flesh and Blood'.QUOTE so if the asurans haven't got the old ring tech, what have they got. can't remember seeing any kind of transporter of ancient design, other than those within atlantis! Obviously they don't have transporter tech as the Asgard do. They have site to site transporters between specific locations but that is all. We've never seen any Ancient transporters that behave in the same way as those of the Asgard. Whether it is ring technology of the transporters in Atlantis, the transport is always between two specific locations. |
