So what happened to the dart...did we shoot it down??
Is Ronon impressed with our level of tech???
Is the dart fixable???
Did we even slavage it???

I thought this episode was quite good. Funny in parts but also a little over the top in others. Also if they did it as a character only McKay could see then it would be like Urgo aswell.

Also did anyone else notice that Weir called sheppard by "Major" rather than Colonel when speaking to Ronan smile.gif

8/10 One of the better comedy orientated episodes.

QUOTE(gatenut @ Aug 6th 2005, 5:01 PM)
I dont even want to go there blink.gif IMO a Bekett / Cadman thing could work.
The only thing that felt out of place was the scenes with Dex I meen who fights with there head down and hair in there face and then he does the Charlie's Angels hair thing    if they had kept the story on McKay and Cadman it would have been a whole lot better
*

I liked the switching between the Bekett / Cadman and Sheppard/ Ronin thing because we needed to learn a little about Ronin.
And the Charlie's Angles hair thing: I went and watched the EP again and noticed it and burst in to laughter. Thanks for the reference Gatenut

QUOTE(JamesyBHOY @ Aug 6th 2005, 5:51 PM)
The kiss between Cadman & McKay was the same story as the one between Sumner & Weir in 'Rising.' Most likely it'll be in as a blooper when the DVD's are released next year.
*

Jamesy - tell all!! I had not heard this. Sumner and Weir kissed?? What was the backstory?

QUOTE(Mental Case @ Aug 6th 2005, 6:55 PM)
Funny episode. Although akward at times. One of the akward things seemed ronan's just general dullness in his responses.
*

I don't think he was dull - I think he came off as extremely wary and cautious. You'll remember that in the venue he was completely comfortable with (fighting) he was quite animated.

I just watched it again, and you're right. Maybe she's still getting used to it... despite her being the one to get him promoted.

OMG I love watching Rodney he drives me nuts cuz he's so arrogant but then he's so damn hilarious.
When he woke up the first time and realized Cadman was in his head was just great. Pretty much everytime she took over was awesome. I don't get why Beckett would agree to go with someone on a date, that I couldn't buy though. And the kiss made me just LMAO!
I still remember the first time McKay was introduced as a charactor I just hated him but now he can make the show.

And I don't like Ronan Dex either he's nothing but a grunt idiot with bad hair. Bring back Lt. Ford who now has a bit of a wraith complex.

He's not Russian, he's Czech, so that's likely the language he was speaking

This episode was one of the funniest things I've ever seen. Lol, is it just me, or is David Hewlett just a little too good at acting like a woman wink.gif

The only problem is that in all the interviews Hewlett said that "['Duet' is] the kissing bandit episode, where I have to make out with every single person on the set, man, animal, and beast!" (from Gateworld.net), but I only counted 2...? doesn't sound like everyone on the set. *sigh* And here I was, exited that McKay was finaly going to get some...

hmmm, who's up for writing some missing scenes? Maybe McKay/Zelenka? wink.gif whistling.gif

6/10 some good parts but more of a wasted episode i think... if the show had some decent writers maybe it could have been done better...

Think nothing of it . biggrin.gif

But the Sheppard/ Ronin thing IMO it took away from the story
this should have been McKay /Cadman ep yes we need to know more about Ronan
but that could have been done in an another ep .

first off! awesome ep.

Mckay is one of the smartest one on atlantis, if not the smartest, after all the sh*t the altantis exp. have been through, wier and sheppard still underestimates Mckays ability to function

wier and sheppard doesnt need to be patronizing and talking about Mckey like he wasnt around when Mckay still is in the room, that is just unacceptable for people in their position, wier and sheppard indirectly tells everyone that its okay for everyone to crack jokes when someone is not well

and wier should have talked to mckay ALONE, not making a statement infront of everyone, is it so fu**ing hard to grab mckays arm and just walk around a corner and tell him that he must see the shrink?

by now weir should know that mckay is a proud man, and undermine his state of mind infront of all the science group, just to make a point and to show who still runs the show, thats low, she really lacks leadership abilities.

Mckay is a seniorstaff, and he should be treated like one.

chakster: if they were on earth and not involved with access with alien tech, then i would have agreed with you.. they are in pegasus adn is dealing with unknown and more advanced tech everday...

this sort of thing has sort of become common to them and no they are smart enough not to take it personally....

and when she did that with mckay.... shes out on a limb trusting what he said about the other personality... i mean htey have no proof of what he said.. she took his word on faith alone... shes not putting him down but is worried.... i mean if you are on earth and you go to work yelling to someone who is not there.. you think your boss is going to ask to talk to you privately...esp since yo ujust screwed up big time????

program Sarcasm()

Yes, what were they thinking? Humor? In Stargate SG-1? They lost all their fans the moment they went down that black hole. I mean, who would ever want to watch, or even be a part of, a show that has fun every once in while? Especially sci-fi shows. There's a rule book somewhere that forbids humor in sci-fi isn't there?

The producers should be ashamed they allowed this behavior!

end //end of Sarcasm

I love the humor in SG-1. I think it made it a better show. It's one the reasons I own all 7 seasons on DVD. (with season 8 coming out on Oct 4th of course)

I know this is off-topic, so please forgive me

Yes I woulndt have watched EPs like Window of Op. or Urgo if there was a ban on Sci-Fi humor. Humor has made SG what it is today. And I woulndnt have it any other way

you want proof? they have girls poker night, right? the girl inside McKays head could have said something that McKay wouldnt know and then McKay tell the girls infront of Wier, what about that for trust and going out on a limb.

and McKay didnt screw up, he was just talking very loud, and when he was telling the voice in his head (Lt. Cadman) to just shut up for one moment to let McKay think, then Wier sucky timing says and says "Rodney" ofcourse McKay will respond aggressive after that Lt. Cadman has nagged the crap out of Mckay by saying "rodney, rodney, rodney" while he is talking to Zelenka

you should agree with me when they are on atlantis and dealing with alien tech, they dont know what wraith tech can have for inpact on the human body,
and they dont have proof that here isnt another personality inside Mckay, they have been around more freaky stuff then what just happened to McKay

so instead of really understanding what just happened, they just think rodney is crazy, wier and sheppard dont believe in mckay, but if one of the others would have been in the same mess as mckay, they surely would be more understanding.

If I were at work screaming/talking would to someone that wasnt there, my boss better have the leadership abilities to escort me elsewhere where he and I can have a chat, what Wier did, she really fu**ed up for a civilian leader.

I mean is it so fu**ing hard to say,: hey Rodney, a word.. alone
then they go around the corner and explain that he need to talk to the shrink and thats it. making it a fu**ing big deal infront of McKays people

it must be so humiliating to stand down and walk away infront of his crew, that tells that McKay is unfit to run his group, and he isnt.

I think I actually liked the actress that played Cadman. Hopefully we'll see more of her. Some of DH's acting was, as others have stated, over the top, but I think he had to go there, or it wouldn't be as funny. I'm glad they finally explained the tech behind the darts' beaming. Decent episode...

chakster: the point is that weir trusted rodney on his word that cadman is in his head... they have no scientific proof otherwise.. and cadman didn't volunteer any information to show that shes in his head...
also if rodney is as smart as he think he is..shouldn;t he know better than to moan and bitch at zelenka as hes working to help him?
shouldn;t rodney be talking calmly isntead of screaming??
not to mention the fact that its obvious that rodney is temporarily mentally unstable atm and weir needed to confront rodney and have the guards escort him out by force if necessasry....

also you don;t seem to mind the fact taht mckay ignored beckett orders to rest.... shouldn;t mckay rest and let beckett ensure hes alright before running off??

in term of med condition, beckett overrules anyone else....so mckay has already ignored orders once... and weir has enough brains to see that mckay has to be force off this problem...

Great comedy episode here. I have to say what a great character Cadman is, I say make her a recurring character, I just find her an excellent edition to Atlantis. One of the reasons is when she was feeding lines to McKay when he was having dinner, that had me laughing.

Another great thing about this episode is when Ronan was fighting with Col. Sheppard's men. Really great combat moves there.

Overall this episode would get a 9/10 rating from me, Great ep! biggrin.gif

McKay knows that he is the smartest guy around, bitch and moan, yeah like that is a new thing about McKay, and he always shouts at zelenka, and no one cares, thats the way McKay run things,

and if becket let him out, then its no problem, otherwise mckay would still be in sickbay, and where did McKay ignored Becketts orders? I didnt see that.
